The Cats have brought mostly man v man pressure with a slight drop away from that in the second quarter. The Swans have completely crumbled under that pressure. When we played them (twice), we brought our usual 2/3 rds rolling zone giving them too much time and space, making them look a million $$. Hopefullly Goody & the FD will recognise this and change things up a fair degree in 2023. If they don't and continue to drag out the loose rolling zone at the start of 2023 i'll be super worried about our chances.

Yes man v man almost everywhere in the first 10 minutes or so Mr Hood. Think the bigger taller bodies of the Cats plus the all ground pressure unsettled the Sawns. Especially their younger brigade. The Swans have a few more sub 50 gamers (effectively rookies) than most finalists i believe.

Sydney's kicking is shizen. Cat's should send a posie of flowers to the Lions for such a soft PF run.

Bounce of the ball, horrid umpiring (Geelong's way) and some panic play / disposal from the Swans. Cats the first team to settle following Hawkins 2 goals out of the ruck. I can't think of one Swan that,'s stood up to be counted so far other than Hayward's finish for goal. Can they get back? Will need a heculean effort. Mids & Seniors will need to play the match of their lives working both ways to pressure the turnovers and get this back to level terms.

Take note folks... Apart from Geelong having a spare behind the ball and the Swans having a plus one on the ball, it's mostly man on man footy early here which means very high pressure footy. Something we didn't cope with very well this season but will need to learn to/and bring it for long periods, if we're to get back here soonish.

Weid is worth a trial in Petty's role IMO. Allows Petty to play forward and see what he can bring for a stint. Successful then of course you keep going. If not you revert back. Weid can also handle some minor ruck duties with Max in this role. No one else on this list (at present) offers this versatility and upside (if it comes off!) for us nor has the same height as Petty to take a tallish defender if required. Weid is the same height.

Personally think he's more an old fashioned 1 v 1 defender that will blanket/spoil his man and the damage at ground level on turnover / transition LN. Petty's good at the former and does ok with the latter without being all that damaging. Disco plays a little taller than his stature as well. Pretty good leap.
