Dees Potential Draft Play to Secure Pick #1
Demon Dynasty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Harley looks to be a rare egg indeed and an exceptional one at that. Is he worth three firsts? Guess we won't know that till about 3 years down the track probably. -
What they are saying at Arden Street
Demon Dynasty replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Rooh's emergence changes the whole team's mood & mindset and offers much incentive as the backs/mids now know they have a genuine target who can clunk marks and kick straight. Might not happen overnight against the top line clubs but i wouldn't want to be on the other side as a bottom 4 - 6 club as our new forward set up begins to settle, emerge and stabilise. If Chanel 10 is accurate apparently not... Edit: See below 😂 (thanks Kev) -
In a normal H&A round i usually don't bother with all this but given we won on the big stage in front of a massive crowd you would think there'd be a small snippet. Sound advice from the wise

3 weeks Gorg but with Goody's 'no risk' policy he might be adding the extra week. What's the old Irish saying... -
Jack out in the cold. No Demon in sight yet 4 GC players & Cerra from what was a very average losing team. I watched the Cats game and didn't think Danger's game was worthy of a berth...

Correct DZ. JJ off a small sample size though, but he's showing early solid form that suggests he may be tracking ahead of where he was in 2022. Lets hope he continues on this path eh. Sparrow had a decent result againt the Tiges. Starting to look ok through the middle also when he's getting time there. May & Gawn ...is it possible to rest Max this week? Its a long time to be out and couldn't hurt to manage him away from the 5 day break. I guess that depends on how he pulls up & what the HP team are recommending etc. May ...my gut feel is he's being eased back into the normal training routine & FD / HP are happy to have him regain match fitness / hardness in game vs going for that on the track (in a normal sense).

Haven't watched the replay. Can anyone please tell me .... was there an obvious or technical infringement by any MFC player when Fritta took that nice mark about 30 meters out directly in front later in the game?
-
SA i have seen players asked to "stand" ....stand the mark. And in an instant leave the mark and run backwards so they can then go to an "outside 5" position instead. I have seen players asked to stay "outside 5" .... then a second or two later come up to the mark. In both of those examples, on at least three occasions this season, none of those players were penalised 50 meters "according to the rule book" as they should have been. The ump conveniently ignored their obvious transgressions and, some would say sensibly others might say against the rules and incorrectly, allowed the game to continue without a 50. In addition there are multiple breaches of the protected area alongside the player taking the kick that are now rarely called. These are surely more important transgressions in that this is what the protected zone was brought in for in the first place. To try and stop oppos preventing the kicker from taking 45 kicks inside / or playing on towards the corridor by encroaching into his lateral space! Why is that Lever is suddenly pinged for such an obscure / borderline breach to give the Tigers a certain goal when others are breaching on multiple occasions prior yet no penalties are given?

Bombers starting to lose Nick a bit more in traffic
-
Handball and run & carry from the Bombers 1st class in that quarter.
-
Noticed Stringer didnt stand the mark up forward with Sidebottom kicking. Instead he spotted Nick Daicos behind him and took the outside 5 to cover him off. The Pies always looking to get it into Nicks hands wherever possible. Smart coaching

Bombers covering the corridor and pushing em wide

They missed an earlier one over the shoulder so a bit of an evener upper

Nice work. So we capitalised more on turnovers but seem to have lost the around ground ball up battle by the looks of that
-
Think again DS Doc's explanation of time travel in "Back to the Future" tells us that the "underground" handball is not only plausible but may well transcend time and stop the game for a nano second, thereby confusing oncoming opponent and providing receiver with more time to assess and gather...
-
Sounds good to me TR.... im all in as long as the user has got it down pat
-
Chandler yes Kozzy will be fine. Choco just needs a quiet word imv re speckies (ok once in a while / timing?) vs on ground crumbing and pressure (obviously more of that pls). Plus pls take all your time with set shots, especially round the corners. No need to rush. Its also a set up thing to ensure he is floating out the back for the occasional joe-the- goose as we saw last night on one occasion. Seems to be a touch player as well. Worth getting him involved in the middle early on in a match if he looks a bit off??
-
Nice DS but would play Harmes in the Hunter role. He's ready to go imv and ideal for this type of 'managed' scenario. Harmes is a solid runner, decent link up player and strong in the contest. He is also good with hands. Average to ok by foot. Not that strong overhead. Very similar to Hunter imo.
