  1. Weather so far is looking very good. Sunny top of 21.
  2. Wednesday is a trash idea!
  3. Just in time for 31 degree weather.
  4. I donโ€™t even drink beer but would have got a case for my bar
  5. Iโ€™ve got it on pre order. Will be my Xmas holiday read for sure.
  6. I would suggest the WA boys will stay in WA until after Christmas and return in time for the start of pre season proper. It would be cruel to make them come home for 3 weeks of training, when they haven't been able to see their families in 2 years and when we know going back to WA is not guaranteed in the near future. They will probably all be doing their own programs in Perth, and given the late finish to the year, I assume the training loads in December will be quite light anyway.
  7. Roos did something that nobody else could do at the time, he commanded respect and was able to do a lot of things regarding list management, game style, and training that a rookie coach could not do. He set standards, but more importantly he finally got a group of young players to listen and believe. It was never going to be a magic cure, but it started the ball rolling. I don't think anyone else could have done that, and certainly not so quickly. We were at rock bottom when he came, and a year after he left we made a prelim. And yes it took another 3 years to win a flag, but in the grand scheme of 57 years of failings, it was a very quick climb. We needed Roos and Jackson to make us a serious club again, and because Roos had no long term hat in the ring, he was able to do it without emotion and without selfish motives. He was the perfect transitional figure to claw us out of the grave we found ourselves in. Edit: and honestly after the disaster of Neeld, there is absolutely no way our members would have stood by another untried coach. It was too risky and we needed a big name to keep us afloat.
  8. Trust Australia to act extremely slowly as per usual.
  9. Given the stupidity of WA and their insane border restrictions I wouldnโ€™t be shocked if the WA boys have been told they can stay home to spend Xmas with their families before returning to pre season. If they come back now they wonโ€™t be able to see their parents for Christmas.
  10. Nobody was going to take that medal off Trac. 39 (40?) disposals, 2 goals, a million goal assists. Broke records. Fritta was enormous, but Trac was more influential.
  11. Nothing surer. He will be in Melbourne (city) in 3 years.
  12. You know we won the flag when I only just realised it's draft night because Kayo popped up with a reminder on my phone. What a time to be alive!
  13. I donโ€™t know but Iโ€™ll be very annoyed if Iโ€™m facing the back of the stage ๐Ÿคฌ
  14. Same I asked for M50 as this is where we normally sit but I believe the opposite wing must be where the stage will face so I donโ€™t mind at all.
  15. Got tickets in M35. Wasnโ€™t too hard really.
  16. Got my photo book. Disappointing that itโ€™s not a hard cover book considering the price. And also Aus Post in their infinite hopelessness managed to bend and snap a part of the spine ๐Ÿ˜ญ
  17. Me. Lockdown has not been kind.
  18. The photo book is due for delivery to my house next week. I am very much looking forward to receiving it. I've collected coffee table books for years. Never thought I'd be able to collect a Melbourne premiership one!
  19. My favourite is people protesting we live in a dictatorship, ignoring completely the fact that if we did live in a dictatorship, they wouldn't be allowed to protest. I wish all these "I did my own research" nuffies would open a history book.... or any sort of book.... or learn to read... or get a job... or find a friend... anything productive really.
  20. Hands down the best player I have seen in red & blue.
  21. I swear people refusing to get vaccinated just makes no sense to me. Throwing away your life because you think your Google skills are superior to the skills of scientists and doctors world wide. Mind boggling stupidity.
  22. I assume the club is waiting for the magic 90% double dose mark when crowd limits disappear in Victoria to make further announcements. We are currently tracking to hit that around 21/11.
  23. Steven May: "hold my premiership medal"
  24. I am blind. Thanks.
