Very Jaded

Legit the most pathetic bit of footy media on any channel at the moment. Which is saying a lot. Roaming Brian should be renamed [censored] Brian because he has no idea how to conduct interviews or what to ask players. He cut off Glen Bartlet last night who actually was saying some interesting stuff about membership targets, so he can talk to Josh Mahoneys kid. I mean seriously!

While given our history Sydney for us is a big scalp, let’s not forget they have only beaten Carlton this year and they are terrible at the SCG. I’m not taking anything away from this game, but had we played that first half against most teams we would be too far out of it by half time. We need to get a lot better to beat a very confident Saints outfit. I just hope this win gives them the confidence they need to stop fumbling and second guessing their ball movement.

He is an exceptionally smart footballer. His tackling for a big guy is also excellent. He is still very raw and needs time. He sometimes mistimes contests and his work in the air is hit and miss. But he is a beautiful kick and I have every confidence he’ll be a good player. We need to be patient. He is a baby in KP terms and has played less than 50 games.

Stretch was disappointing. He is a very very slow decision maker. However he never gets a decent run in the seniors and given our current injury woes I would give him a month and see how he goes. Remember he had a very short turnaround after playing for Casey on the weekend.

He barely made it off the ground and once he did he was on all 4. Nothing to gain from exaggerating his pain when the opportunity for a free was well and truly gone. He is a tough kid. If he was on all 4 in pain then I believe that he was really hurt.

Oliver’s contempt for Roaming Brian makes me love him even more.

It was a hard game to watch. We aren’t out of the woods by any means and we have a lot of improvement to do yet. But that was a gusty hard fought win and absolute credit to Jones. Led from the front tonight.
