Small forwards are, by nature, inconsistent. They are opportunistic players and sometimes they get no opportunities to impact the scoreboard. This is what makes Spargo and Kosi such good small forwards. Because whether they are kicking goals or not, they are impacting the scoreboard with their pressure off the ball or their kicking skills going inside 50. They don’t need to hit the scoreboard themselves to help the team, which means they are never liabilities, even if they have low stats. This is an incredibly rare trait for small forwards. Compare Kosi to Weightman. Both had identical stats. 5 disposals and 1 goal. But I know who I’m taking.

His head offends me. Have hated him ever since he said we were soft. To be fair to Port they were running on fumes with the amount of injuries they had. I think the conditions suited Brisbane better, plus home crowd, and to me they were very disappointing. Poor skills. Looked lethargic for a good portion of the game. I know Zorko was injured but their midfield looked slow. I wasn’t blown away, and this is from someone who thought the Lions would be our biggest threat this year. Port are Port. They do a lot and then they fall apart like a cheap suit in finals. See also Geelong.

Fun game to watch tho. Good pressure now from both teams and a tight contest.

Correct. You can have the best system in the world but if you have a list full of mediocre players you won’t win flags. Geelong had an insanely talented list. Their list is still full of talent but it’s aging talent. We’ve been waiting for the end to come, but it’s come slowly and it’s annoying.

Nasty nasty knee injury. Port are falling like flies. Not great.

I’m very disappointed with Brisbane. They look slow, lethargic and their skills are absolutely god awful. What has happened here? Port look hungrier but I struggle to rate them. Maybe that’s on me.

I’m really unimpressed by this game. I assume it’s humid and hot hence the poor ball handling. But both teams look lethargic.

Sydney are a fantastic well coached side. Will easily finish top 4.

As I said. Something is NQR. I can’t put my finger on it. Is everyone in this side just in it for the cash? They seem so devoid of passion. Greene that dweeb is the only player with genuine passion but he’s a tool who can’t keep himself away from suspension.

I dunno. On paper they are so talented but I don’t rate their coach. They’ve had a gun team for so long but something is just NQR.

Already this game is 1000 times better than the Geelong Essendon game. Both these sides are better than Geelong.

Weirdly enough all the Essendon fans I know are level headed. Not one of them reckons they hold a candle to us

Essendon’s draw won’t help them get off to a flier either. They play Brisbane next week and then us. Bomberblitz upgrading their server as we speak.

Well we will just need to smash them in a prelim again I guess.

We definitely lost a bit of structure once Salem went down which is completely understandable. I was so impressed with our ability to adjust and Tmac just went back and we fixed it all up in a quarter which was sensational against a very good team. However it has to be noted that the Dogs have a very poor forwardline beyond Naughton so we got lucky in that aspect. They had decent amount of entries. A better forwardline would have capitalized.

He was horrendous. St Kilda’s lack of skills was shocking. Truly I cannot understand it from a relatively mature list.

Umpire killed the game. Surprise surprise.
