  1. His whole household had Covid. He may well have ended up getting it too. Could be right tho and he was just a close contact at the time.
  2. Let’s also remember that he had Covid not too long ago and Iike Sparrow and ANB has been a little flat since. You just don’t know how Covid has impacted him. Not everyone bounces right back. Ben Brown had Covid a couple of weeks earlier and this week he looked the most lively I’ve seen him since.
  3. I think it goes without saying that I don't want to keep Jackson if it means we lose Oliver... I mean I would much rather keep him, pay him a little over what he is CURRENTLY worth and take the punt that he will turn into a star player, than give him up for 2 top 20 picks that might end up being 2x Weideman* *I am not having a dig at Weideman, it is not his fault where he was selected in the draft, I am just pointing out that top 20 picks can be Oliver and Jackson and Trac, but equally they can be Watts, Toumpas and Weideman.
  4. The only area of the ground that needs a serious rethink is the forwardline. Tmac is done for the year (will be a miracle if he makes it back), Weideman / Mitch Brown are NQR, ANB, Kosi and Spargo are not providing anywhere near the same pressure as they were last year. Ben Brown is in ordinary form. We need to make some change in there. I don't know if that's blooding JVR, or if it's going with a smaller mix, or if it's permanently resting Gawn/Jackson at FF, but to me we are missing 2 big things at the moment: 1. Someone who can consistently win aerial contest at half forward, or at least nullify the contest and give repeated efforts to present when we win the ball at half back (so basically Tmac's role) 2. Pressure forwards who can keep the ball inside our forward 50, so we get repeat looks at the goal The rest of the issues, kicking, spreading, defensive running etc, I think will sort themselves out when we get out of this horrible period of injuries, illnesses and perhaps even loading. We know we can do those things well. The forwardline however is a real issue and has been all year.
  5. They absolutely are. Alcohol is incredibly expensive. You get way better value for money with street drugs.
  6. This KID is not getting anywhere near enough credit for basically carrying our backline the last 3 weeks while held together by fresh air and super glue. Just another reason I am so furious with May. Petty deserved a week off, instead he got smashed yet again, kept labouring out there, got hit in the head, is barely able to move his arm, and was still one of our best performers. I saw him getting taken off for a concussion test and he looked like he was about to cry. Has spent equal time on ground as getting medically checked the last month, and as soon as he was off we got a bag kicked on us. He will be special if he isn't already!
  7. Agreed. The backline is STILL saving our butts. Even with missing key players down there all year and losing May then Petty then Turner in games the last 3 weeks, we are still yet to concede a score we couldn't beat if we just fixed the problems forward of the centre. Turnovers are killing us. Even if we win the clearance, we butcher it going inside 50, or we let the ball bounce straight out, or we turn it over from half back after the defenders do all the hard work to nullify the contest. Our pressure has been well down, and it is hurting us most inside 50. We used to be able to keep the ball down there long enough, that even with a very similar forward mix to now, we could kick a big enough score just from repeat efforts and entries. Now the ball is intercepted or run straight out of the forward half, and even if we manage to neutralise the aerial contest on the wing, nobody stays down or is able to smoothly transition the footy back inside 50. I was hoping that with Salem back our ball use in the middle part of the ground would greatly improve. Sadly he hasn't found any form yet. Couple that with Langdon being well down after his injury, Trac being wasteful all over the ground, Gawn clearly being hampered by injury so he is spending much less time down the wing to help with the exit kicks, plus our entire forwardline being in horrible form (Fritsch aside), and you get a team that can't score enough to win, even when we are still keeping our opposition to respectable scores. Other than Freo who absolutely killed us on the scoreboard (when we lost May early and had to send Weideman down back!), we lost the last 2 games conceding 73 and 82 points (and I bet May doesn't let Reid or Mihocek kick 3 and 4 respectively). It's not exactly a disaster, when we have kicked over 90 points in almost every other game we have played this year (Richmond game is an anomaly due to horrible conversion).
  8. I’ve seen enough top 20 picks turn out to be rubbish. Jackson is a generational player and could become anything. I’m holding onto him at all costs and not taking a risk of top picks that might not turn out half as good as I know he will become.
  9. He has 43 touches, 10 more than the next best. Cox only influenced the game once his opponent was off the ground with an injury he caused.
  10. Collingwood supporters are the most disgusting least evolved humans going around. You should have seen the full blown crackhead on the train letting the C word fly and getting stuck into Melbourne fans. I took my scarf off because I was on my own and genuinely uncomfortable. They are, for the most part, the least educated most inbred group of delusional ferals going around. Will cheer a twice accused sexual predator but boo a gun player #humanityweeps
  11. To be fair that kid is a [censored] burger not the best clearance player in the game 😂
  12. They have 4 brain cells and 8 teeth between them. Let them be.
  13. Went at 81% today. It’s a fallacy that he can’t kick. He disposes of the ball under more pressure than anyone else. He is a freak. We are absolutely [censored] without him.
  14. Sorry he’s 20. Most 20 year old ruckman are dominating. You’re right. We should trade him for sure.
  15. I really thought he was good today. Battled it out when was clearly buggered. Played against a really big opponent and kicked a ripping goal in the last to bring us back into the game. He is 19 ffs!
  16. But you also risk being flat come finals if you don’t do it. Dogs dropped out of the 4 late last season. Brisbane dropped their bundle in finals. It is a fine art when the season is so long. It worked for us last year so it stands to reason we try to repeat the same thing again. Doesn’t mean the result will be the same.
  17. JJ was good. Worked so hard and was composed with the footy. Hibbo also blanketed Elliot well. Props to our magnificent captain who couldn’t walk and was still out there fighting. He is a rare gem. We don’t deserve him.
  18. He was. My point was about us getting smashed by opposition and just coping it. I’m over it.
  19. I suppose starting 10-0 has given us the ability to be brave and drop games through loading. We did lose this game last year too. However I’m not sure that loading is the reason why we can’t hit a target going inside 50?
  20. Harmes got hit hard by Maynard and was vomiting on the sidelines. I am actually really sick and tired of sides coming out and physically hurting us and getting away with it. We don’t want suspensions, but Jesus give them some back. Protect your captain at least.
  21. Pies fans on the train talking about what an ordinary player Oliver is. At least I get a laugh tonight.
  22. Poor guy was buggered. He had hardly no rotation for a whole quarter. He’s just a kid and he was playing against that [censored] Cox who, like Mumford, is a thug masquerading as a D grade footballer.
  23. Concussion.
  24. It is 100% his back. He was holding it constantly. Channel 7 commentary is trash. We don’t deserve him. He is a warrior and I’m fuming that Cox, genuinely one of the worst footballers going around, gets to look like some sort of hero today playing on nobody after injuring Gawn. I hope he drops those stupid sunglasses in the toilet! We are in genuine trouble if Gawn is going to be out for a while or down on form due to the injury.
