  1. Having ADHD doesn’t make you a moron or a jerk. It does make you impulsive and reduces your ability to understand consequences. Still a poor excuse.
  2. Look it’s not illegal to go to Bali and act a fool. It’s also not the smartest move for a guy in ordinary form, wanting a big contract, and with a hell of a lot of awful behavior in his past
  3. I agree, and if Jackson wants to go of course we hope he wants to go to West Coast as we will get a better deal. But if he wants to go to Freo, what options do we really have? I would be pushing hard for picks (which would not be great as Freo will likely finish top 4) AND I would want an established replacement given our window is still wide open. I mean Darcy would be ideal, but I doubt Freo or Darcy would agree.
  4. No I still don't want to lose Jackson, and I am sure the club is doing everything it can to keep him. But of course if he wants to go, he is immediately dead to me and I move onto caring only about bettering our list. Lobb will certainly be a good replacement. Winning flags is the only thing that matters. In: Lobb Out: Jackson is a good net result for 2023/2024 while our window is still wide open. Edit: Plus 2 draft picks of course. This is not a like for like given age and draft pick investment.
  5. Please go wash your mouth out
  6. Or Collingwood Or Essendon .... I have gone with realistic options. I mean I suppose Richmond could pull off a miracle if Dusty drags them over the line again.
  7. If we can get Lobb as part of the deal it would absolutely soften the blow of losing Jackson and means our windos is still wide open. Lobb is an excellent player and would be a great 1-2 combo with Gawn for a few more years.
  8. I've always really liked Brisbane. They have been my second team for as long as I've followed footy, and have always found their fans to be down to earth, knowledgeable and pleasant. This thread just proves it. Everything they've said is correct. Nothing over the top, happy Gawn is out but also acknowledge injuries are never nice to see. Not writing us off or big noting themselves, which they have every right to given they are 1st on the ladder. If we lose the flag to anyone, I would be happiest if it's to one of Brisbane or Freo. Just PLEASE do not let Geelong or Carlton win it. 2022 has been rough as it is.
  9. Makes no sense. Is the Lion's MCG record so bad?
  10. How is that the option I am suggesting? Of course we need to get 2 first round draft picks. I was just suggesting we try to get a sweeter, as we are already short on tall options on our list. At no point did I ever suggest we trade Jackson for Darling. Seriously, how did you draw that conclusion from what I wrote?
  11. I assume for older people it's really difficult and also for kids who don't have smart phones it's a pain as you need to store all tickets on a single phone. It's not the best.
  12. I would also try and get a replacement tall. Could Darling help us up forward? Do they have any young talls we could get something out of? We would need 2 first round picks. So pick 1/2 depending on where they finish, and another top inside the first round plus a player. So say pick 1+ pick 19 + Darling would probably get it done. Whatever deal we strike will stink, because Jackson is a really damn good player who is only going to get better and better.
  13. Well the gods are smiling down on Weideman. With Gawn out, he’s a guaranteed in as he’s the only one left on the list who can play forward and also ruck to help Jacko.
  14. Jack Watts getting more hard ball gets today than in his entire career.
  15. The footy gods have said “not this year friends” 😭
  16. His whole household had Covid. He may well have ended up getting it too. Could be right tho and he was just a close contact at the time.
  17. Let’s also remember that he had Covid not too long ago and Iike Sparrow and ANB has been a little flat since. You just don’t know how Covid has impacted him. Not everyone bounces right back. Ben Brown had Covid a couple of weeks earlier and this week he looked the most lively I’ve seen him since.
  18. I think it goes without saying that I don't want to keep Jackson if it means we lose Oliver... I mean I would much rather keep him, pay him a little over what he is CURRENTLY worth and take the punt that he will turn into a star player, than give him up for 2 top 20 picks that might end up being 2x Weideman* *I am not having a dig at Weideman, it is not his fault where he was selected in the draft, I am just pointing out that top 20 picks can be Oliver and Jackson and Trac, but equally they can be Watts, Toumpas and Weideman.
  19. The only area of the ground that needs a serious rethink is the forwardline. Tmac is done for the year (will be a miracle if he makes it back), Weideman / Mitch Brown are NQR, ANB, Kosi and Spargo are not providing anywhere near the same pressure as they were last year. Ben Brown is in ordinary form. We need to make some change in there. I don't know if that's blooding JVR, or if it's going with a smaller mix, or if it's permanently resting Gawn/Jackson at FF, but to me we are missing 2 big things at the moment: 1. Someone who can consistently win aerial contest at half forward, or at least nullify the contest and give repeated efforts to present when we win the ball at half back (so basically Tmac's role) 2. Pressure forwards who can keep the ball inside our forward 50, so we get repeat looks at the goal The rest of the issues, kicking, spreading, defensive running etc, I think will sort themselves out when we get out of this horrible period of injuries, illnesses and perhaps even loading. We know we can do those things well. The forwardline however is a real issue and has been all year.
  20. They absolutely are. Alcohol is incredibly expensive. You get way better value for money with street drugs.
  21. This KID is not getting anywhere near enough credit for basically carrying our backline the last 3 weeks while held together by fresh air and super glue. Just another reason I am so furious with May. Petty deserved a week off, instead he got smashed yet again, kept labouring out there, got hit in the head, is barely able to move his arm, and was still one of our best performers. I saw him getting taken off for a concussion test and he looked like he was about to cry. Has spent equal time on ground as getting medically checked the last month, and as soon as he was off we got a bag kicked on us. He will be special if he isn't already!
  22. Agreed. The backline is STILL saving our butts. Even with missing key players down there all year and losing May then Petty then Turner in games the last 3 weeks, we are still yet to concede a score we couldn't beat if we just fixed the problems forward of the centre. Turnovers are killing us. Even if we win the clearance, we butcher it going inside 50, or we let the ball bounce straight out, or we turn it over from half back after the defenders do all the hard work to nullify the contest. Our pressure has been well down, and it is hurting us most inside 50. We used to be able to keep the ball down there long enough, that even with a very similar forward mix to now, we could kick a big enough score just from repeat efforts and entries. Now the ball is intercepted or run straight out of the forward half, and even if we manage to neutralise the aerial contest on the wing, nobody stays down or is able to smoothly transition the footy back inside 50. I was hoping that with Salem back our ball use in the middle part of the ground would greatly improve. Sadly he hasn't found any form yet. Couple that with Langdon being well down after his injury, Trac being wasteful all over the ground, Gawn clearly being hampered by injury so he is spending much less time down the wing to help with the exit kicks, plus our entire forwardline being in horrible form (Fritsch aside), and you get a team that can't score enough to win, even when we are still keeping our opposition to respectable scores. Other than Freo who absolutely killed us on the scoreboard (when we lost May early and had to send Weideman down back!), we lost the last 2 games conceding 73 and 82 points (and I bet May doesn't let Reid or Mihocek kick 3 and 4 respectively). It's not exactly a disaster, when we have kicked over 90 points in almost every other game we have played this year (Richmond game is an anomaly due to horrible conversion).
  23. I’ve seen enough top 20 picks turn out to be rubbish. Jackson is a generational player and could become anything. I’m holding onto him at all costs and not taking a risk of top picks that might not turn out half as good as I know he will become.
  24. He has 43 touches, 10 more than the next best. Cox only influenced the game once his opponent was off the ground with an injury he caused.
