Hawks have beaten 5 of the top 8 sides this year. I swear we can win by 100 points and someone will still say it was a mediocre win and we are no good. Well they won clearances and contested possessions so you’re right. We were just much much better defensively. After the first quarter Hawks couldn’t move the ball.

I guess I don’t see what everyone else sees with Tomlinson and the stats tell me that we rarely lose when he plays alongside May and Lever. Smith has far more impact as a forward. I can’t see how we play Brisbane without Tomlinson for example. I know Schache was there as insurance for Gawn. I didn’t have an issue with the sub choice. I just didn’t think we needed to sub him on while the game was still in the balance. He is a total liability IMO. Has no sense of urgency.

He plays the most difficult role in the game in terms of consistency. It’s just not possible for small forwards to have great games every week. Kosi is one of the most consistent in this role, on track for another 40 odd goals. Cyril only managed to do that twice in his entire career. Just for some perspective.

It was fine that he was sub. If we lose Gawn in the first quarter you can’t have JVR go alone in the ruck. Would be a disaster. I don’t know why we subbed him on in the last tho.

Still haven’t lost a game since the beginning of time with May, Lever and Tomlinson all playing. Why oh why do we keep insisting on being so hard on him? He is clearly good down there and makes it easier for Lever to play the intercept role. Just leave him in there ffs

Used it well but defensively was poor. A bewildering call to sub Schache on for Tomlinson. I understand they didn’t wanna not use him, but FMD we are lucky it didn’t cost us. Tomlinson played well. Schache has no urgency.

North now with pick one so it’s a bit irrelevant really. I prefer a Freo win so we are still in the hunt for second spot.
