  1. I've seen a few people on the Melbourne FB trying to offload tickets. Worth trying your luck there as well.
  2. You have to ask yourself how much better off would we be if we hadn't lost Petty and Melksham to season ending injuries. A single injury to a key player could be the difference between winning and losing a flag when the competition is so tight, especially when that injury occurs later in the year, and is added onto a host of injuries within the same part of the ground. We did so well to cover Clarry, because the rest of our mids were fit and healthy and we were able to push Gus into the midfield because we had a plethora of half backs in good form and fit. Losing Petty would have been fine if BB and Tmac were not both battling. Losing Melksham on top of that in round 24 just threw everything off even more, and gave us no time to adjust. Now JVR is out, and we need to replace his role and the cupboard is completely bare to the point where we might need to play Schache, who has proven over many years that he is not a great option.
  3. He is a Melbourne supporter, no wonder he's weeping
  4. No Turner at the captain's run today. He won't play. Already confirmed by @Dannyz and some journos that Tomlinson is playing. So that means at least 3 changes, plus the sub if they don't want to go with Laurie again which I believe they won't. My guess Out: Gus, JVR, Hibbo, Laurie (sub) In: JJ, Schache, Tomlinson, Spargo I would then say Spargo is into the 22 and Chandler is the sub I have no faith in Schache and was hoping that we would test out Turner, but Schache gives us the 2nd ruck option that JVR provides, and he has more forward craft than Grundy. Jesus wept at our forwardline.
  5. Also the nerve of the guy to get Debra Brayshaw's number and ring her. "Sorry I knocked your son out" WTF?!
  6. There is no point playing Grundy if we are wanting to replace the role of JVR. He cannot play as a forward, and giving him the bulk of the ruck work is robbing us of our best and most influential player spending as much time as possible in the middle. If Grundy plays then it's at the expense of a small runner. Very risky, especially in warm conditions.
  7. You have to love Gawny. He's a diplomat. I am sure he wanted to punch him in the head.
  8. It’s a fake account Please delete
  9. He presumes wrong. 99% of Melbourne supporters would know who he is. He played 2 weeks ago against Sydney.
  10. So no Turner, or does Joshua Dawe not know who that is?
  11. Because it allows Lever to play his natural intercept game, instead of worrying about playing on their resting ruck. He can help May against Curnow, who is probably the best tall forward in the league, and it leaves Tomlinson to worry about Pitonett or De Koning. The proof of our success when we play 3 talls is in the pudding. We rarely lose when this is the setup we go with.
  12. It’s because a lot of opposition supporters are balding middle aged men with self esteem issues He is a dumb [censored], he’s also an eye gouger, talks rubbish and openly cheats on his partner. 0 stars.
  13. He’s still an oily man baby when he plays and I still hate him and his club 😂
  14. Laura proving to be, thus far, just another one of the corrupt boys. Really bloody disappointing. I was hoping a woman could set this pathetically backwards boys club on the right path.
  15. I hate Hawkins the footballer, but he’s actually a genuinely beautiful human off the field. Much like May actually. He went above and beyond for my friend’s little boy when he was diagnosed with cancer (he’s a Geelong supporter). I’ll always be really grateful for how wonderful he was with him all the way thru his battle.
  16. For me this has gone so far beyond the incident itself. It’s the pathetic love fest and obvious good guy PR for Maynard. The victim blaming of Gus. The vile carry on from not just gutless inbreds online, but the media who should do better but don’t. The lack of empathy and almost callousness in which this has been handled is what really upsets me. It does not matter if what happened was calculated, accidental, or anything in between. Somewhere along the way the footy world has lost sight of the fact that a young guy has suffered a really serious head injury that could see him retire, and are instead focused on the injustice of a player maybe missing a final. What the actual [censored] has football become that we only show care and empathy when it suits our agenda but pile on when it doesn’t?! How can some of these ex players and journalists look themselves in the mirror and be ok with their behavior? I wonder how many of them would behave like this if it was their own son or daughter who got knocked out.
  17. That’s awful I’m very sorry to hear that. I think the reason people are so passionately angry about this, is because the consequences for Gus could be far more serious than just missing a game of football. No matter which way you view what happened, anyone who is a Melbourne supporter or even a half decent human being, doesn’t want to see a 27 year old guy suffer permanent damage to their brain.
  18. Stop giving these people ratings. Turn it off.
  19. It’s not about winning a hitout, it’s about making sure your opposing ruckman isn’t getting a free run. You don’t want their ruckman taking the ball out of the ruck unopposed.
  20. I’ve really grown to like Toby Greene. He’s grown up and quite frankly he’s a superstar. If he played for a team someone cared about he’d be winning Brownlows. Dane Zorko for mine. I hate him with the fire of a thousand suns. I won’t name all the Pies players I despise because the list is very long. Moore and the Daicos boys are about the only 3 I don’t want to see suffer long miserable unsuccessful careers.
  21. If no Grundy, which is expected, only ruck backup option is Smith. Will have to go with De Koning. God speed.
  22. Nothing more pathetic than has been footballers who achieved absolutely nothing, coming out pretending like footy back in their days was much better because you could just go out and kill an opponent. Good on you and your slightly deformed brain thanks to all the head knocks you’ve suffered. Perhaps footballers in 2023 would prefer to walk away from the game with their own brains fully intact 🙄
  23. They don't have one
  24. Brad Green would be handy too. Could actually kick straight! This is exactly right. We abandoned the 3 tall defense set up which we know works really well, yet we were really good defensively against the Pies. Perhaps they felt that going shorter left too much one on one work for Lever to do, which reduced our ability to intercept. It was also one of Rivers' quietest games in a while.
  25. Yes, there are already multiple lawsuits against the AFL currently happening by ex and apparently also current players over their mishandling of head injuries. Not to mention Gus' mother in law is currently suing the AFL over the exact same thing. If you are her lawyer, are you not having a field day with the idea that Gus could be called upon as a witness? Here is a perfect example of how the AFL does in fact not protect the head, but rather big name players from missing finals.
