He is slow and has no speed off the mark or any lateral movement left. FD doesn’t like it as it makes him a liability when he can’t outmark his opponent, and is easily exposed by the opposition. I personally really like Tommo and I think he has a role to play and more than likely will still play finals if we meet the likes of Port or Brisbane who have a plethora of tall forwards. I feel really bad for him because he works so hard and tries his guts out when he plays, and we generally look good defensively when he is in the side (as your stats prove). But I guess we have to back the FD in their judgement. And good luck to Turner. He has had a serious baptism of fire in his first 3 games. I think the note on Casboult is unfair. That was a shocking match up in terms of weight/strength. Turner will be better suited to the leaner Sydney talls than Casboult who is just a massive crash and bash forward.

We can win and still finish 4th. If Pies, Lions and Port all win, which is highly likely, we still finish 4th. The ladder remains as is just with one extra win for each of the top 4 sides.

I reckon he will. Goody sounded happy when he talked about him. To me it’s our best option given we’ve lost Petty. It allows us to play Tommo down back and make Smith the sub who can then cover forward or back. Also means Tmac can take the forward ruck contest which leaves JVR open deep.

I don’t think you understood my point. I’m all for giving Tmac and Fritta a run this week. Even if underdone it helps with cohesion in a game we don’t need to win.

Berry is a bog ordinary footballer. If they want to run with him in their finals side then it gives us an advantage. Would you play Harmes to shut down Neale at the expense of say Gus or Sparrow? Good luck to the Lions. They’ve lost a lot of class and pace with Ashcroft going down. Doubt they’ll play a mid in a purely negative role in finals, but it may happen again. With Fritta back is reduces the need to play Trac forward. So they shut down Clarry and Viney, Trac and Gus get a better run instead. I’m not worried. The crack at McGuiness IMO was because he was going the man not the ball. Holding and scragging Clarry illegally behind play all day. I hope in finals the best umpires don’t allow that to happen.
