  1. Thanks for the consistently excellent podcast guys. Keep it up! Interesting to hear Gawn's comments recently about him being out of form when both he and Grundy were in the team a couple of months ago. How critical is Gawn's form to our chances of success against the Pies? And if Gawn is on song, is it better to have Grundy in the team for support (relieving JVR from rucking, which always gives me the jitters about the potential for injury) or to let Max run riot on his own?
  2. So stop looking at the forecast! 😅
  3. Got my 3 members tickets easily this morning. The other 8 I was after for various interested parties got nowhere in the public section --- couldn't seem to get anything more than 1 ticket somewhere random despite being online on multiple browsers right on the dot of 3.00. Looks like it is 3 lucky ones at the ground and the rest at a family watch party at home ...
  4. Thanks for the podcast guys - always great stuff. Our slow starts seem to be an issue. Is this tactical? Or just working our way into the game? If Sydney had been on target early, the game may have got away from us.
  5. My money is on DEMONISATION
  6. We seemed to strangle their chipping game in the last quarter. We didn't score too many ourselves (although we left a few out there). Presumably this bodes well for finals, especially against against Collingwood. Is that the kins of Melbourne game we can expect in the finals?
  7. @binman I don't know what your life goals are, but you have zero chance of success as a politician or sports commentator -- you use far too much common sense and clear reasoning. It seems so simple to fix when you put it like that. Any chance of a letter to the AFL?
  8. Some time is fair enough (couple of days probably). But a full week seems over the top.
  9. This seems ridiculous to me. Why would FIFA care two hoots about what happens a week afterwards?
  10. No, he will be barracking against Brisbane. There is a difference!
  11. In the US, international sport is defined as "The US beats the world", so anything inconsistent with that is downplayed, at best.
  12. Ouch! Should they leave those pre-game nets up then? That sounds seriously dangerous.
  13. You mean barracking against Collingwood -- an entirely different thing!
  14. Perhaps you should imitate Gus and wear head protection?
  15. Did you see the big grin on Goody's face in the presser when somone asked him about Jack Viney? Says it all for me ...
  16. Thanks for your continuing great work on the podcast guys -- best analysis going around. Two questions: 1. Why does Steven May take the kickouts? Surely we are better off with him as a marking option with Rivers or Bowie or Salem taking the kick? 2. Lachie Hunter's form seems to have dropped off. If need be, who replaces him on a wing? ANB? Thanks again!
  17. IMHO the reason they couldn't get past us was that they didn't have the ball - we did. If you have the ball then the opposition can't score ...
  18. There is also a statue of the composer in Times Square in New York, if you are ever passing there ...
  19. Get affogato gluten-free?? :-)
  20. Actually IMHO Viney's disposal has gone up a notch this season, particularly on his non-preferred right foot. Not sure whether this is fitness, Choco's influence or something else, but he seems to have improved his kicking efficiency a lot.
  21. How concerned should we be about not being ahead in contested possessions and clearances? CPs particularly used to be our "one wood" -- is that still the case?
  22. We won because we scored more than them :-) I am no expert but it seemed to me that the Saints had a very high press. So if our 1st or 2nd disposal was iffy, they tended to swoop on us. If we we were clean at that point and move did quickly then the forward line almost fell open. In a nutshell we were cleaner and faster on enough occasions to make a difference (or we were just less [censored] more often :-) )
  23. I generally head for the level 1 bays either side of where we run out. Somehow there is always seating there that is either GA or with no-one enforcing restrictions. Try that first.
  24. We'll want to remember...
  25. Mike Brady got it right: "You either love or hate it, depending on the score ..."
