  1. @binman I don't know what your life goals are, but you have zero chance of success as a politician or sports commentator -- you use far too much common sense and clear reasoning. It seems so simple to fix when you put it like that. Any chance of a letter to the AFL?
  2. Some time is fair enough (couple of days probably). But a full week seems over the top.
  3. This seems ridiculous to me. Why would FIFA care two hoots about what happens a week afterwards?
  4. No, he will be barracking against Brisbane. There is a difference!
  5. In the US, international sport is defined as "The US beats the world", so anything inconsistent with that is downplayed, at best.
  6. Ouch! Should they leave those pre-game nets up then? That sounds seriously dangerous.
  7. You mean barracking against Collingwood -- an entirely different thing!
  8. Did you see the big grin on Goody's face in the presser when somone asked him about Jack Viney? Says it all for me ...
  9. Thanks for your continuing great work on the podcast guys -- best analysis going around. Two questions: 1. Why does Steven May take the kickouts? Surely we are better off with him as a marking option with Rivers or Bowie or Salem taking the kick? 2. Lachie Hunter's form seems to have dropped off. If need be, who replaces him on a wing? ANB? Thanks again!
  10. IMHO the reason they couldn't get past us was that they didn't have the ball - we did. If you have the ball then the opposition can't score ...
  11. There is also a statue of the composer in Times Square in New York, if you are ever passing there ...
  12. Actually IMHO Viney's disposal has gone up a notch this season, particularly on his non-preferred right foot. Not sure whether this is fitness, Choco's influence or something else, but he seems to have improved his kicking efficiency a lot.
  13. How concerned should we be about not being ahead in contested possessions and clearances? CPs particularly used to be our "one wood" -- is that still the case?
  14. We won because we scored more than them :-) I am no expert but it seemed to me that the Saints had a very high press. So if our 1st or 2nd disposal was iffy, they tended to swoop on us. If we we were clean at that point and move did quickly then the forward line almost fell open. In a nutshell we were cleaner and faster on enough occasions to make a difference (or we were just less [censored] more often :-) )
  15. I generally head for the level 1 bays either side of where we run out. Somehow there is always seating there that is either GA or with no-one enforcing restrictions. Try that first.
  16. Mike Brady got it right: "You either love or hate it, depending on the score ..."
  17. I have no problem with Geelong playing all home games, without exception, in Geelong. The problem comes when they want to move home games to Melbourne to maximise crowds. That is a bit like Gold Coast moving big-crowd games to the Gabba. It seems Geelong can have their cake and eat it too in this sense.
  18. Ok. I misinterpreted what you said. All good.
  19. I am not so sure about that. Once he runs out of the goal square, it is play on, and then he ran too far. So I am not sure that it should have been paid anywhere other than the spot where he should have bounced.
  20. Thanks. It is arrangements like this that put the "fix" in the fixture ...
  21. Does that mean all Geelong home games will be at Kardinia Park? That is at least logical (so the AFL will find a way around it! :-) )
  22. True. The problem for me is that this stinks of being a "conditional" home ground for Geelong. Either it is their home, or it isn't. The long-term trend since the 90s seems to be consolidate at the big grounds (allowing generally more attendance). So this exception makes no sense to me (but there are plenty of other things in that category).
