  1. I voted and now I feel unclean
  2. I've seen him tackle on a football pitch, he's a naturtal
  3. Can someone please post a link to the fixture (without a paywall) , really interested in the Freo game as we are heading over to watch
  4. What was the crowd numbers last night, I can't see any details on either AFL or the Age site?
  5. You know, 32k for a crowd against an interstate game wasn't really that bad. The Hawthorn - Collingwood game got 43k, for two Melbourne based teams with a combined membership of 150k.
  6. Every now and again a footballer comes along who lights up the competition, Michael Frederick is that sort of player, usually they don't burn for long, but they are so enjoyable to watch
  7. I know this may sound like a bit of a first world problem, but every time I have to enter the Premium rooms (Hasset and Ryder) I have to show my premium ticket, so 1/4 time, half time, 3/4 time ,post game, pre game, if I need to go to the Loo, I have to get my phone out, find the right app and show the dude on the door my pass. this never used to be a problem, but little things like this detract from the whole "game day" experience. Not sure if equates to less crowds, but it's flaming annoying
  8. Ah Bazza McKenzie just keeps giving
  9. Careful Bevo, this is bordering on greed, might just get the umps offside and start looking at the Free kick leg up the Bullies get nearly every game. How arrogant to criticise the umps when they get such an advantage every week.
  10. I still don't see why they can't release the full fixture. Trying to plan the Freo game at Optus for July. Have already missed out going to Alice because all accommodation and good flights taken. make's it extremely difficult to plan ahead.
  11. Good article in last weeks Good weekend in the Age, regarding umpires and abuse. Worth a look,
  12. Good point, the worry is too, if these guys don't get a run they will start to look elsewhere, and you couldn't blame them. It's a real juggling act.
  13. Problem is to bring them in for just one week isn't Goody's style, and not really a fair way to judge a debutante
  14. St Kilda just bomb it into the forward line, now who does that remind you of?
  15. I actually disagree it was clear ly dissent, the odd thing is the other 10 they don't pay
  16. Libba takes every opportunity to snipe the opposition
  17. I seem to remember the same optimism going into the Crows game last year, strange things can and do happen
  18. Celebrations at the Sorrento Pub tonight ??
  19. I get this (but don't totally agree), I don't understand why the AFL is holding back the date for this fixture. surely it wouldn't be that hard to make a commitment, and allow the clubs to organise travel for the fans. What's to be gained, delaying the date? It seems another case of who cares about the fans, as long as the TV guys are happy. In regards to the flights and accommodation I will attempt to cover all possibilities for Fri, Sat or Sun with my flights, so arrive Thursday, Fly home Monday, no reason why the club couldn't do this too
  20. As a flow on to this discussion, is the club doing enough to entice the members to the game? Others have already spoken about game day experience, fears and expectations, I wont rehash. HOWEVER (in bold for effect0. I am interested in travelling to Alice Springs for the Round 18 clash with Port. Firstly (though no fault of the club) I have no idea which day of that weekend it's on, so arranging flights is like entering chook lotto (sorry chook). Secondly, I contacted the club to see if there are any organised packages by MFC for this fixture, and the reply was: Thank you for contacting Melbourne membership. We don't have any flight packages available for this game unfortunately. Tickets are not yet on sale for this game, we will communicate with members closer to the date when these are available to purchase. Thank you for supporting our club. Have a lovely day! Kind Regards, Chloe This seems like a lost opportunity to fill Traeger park with Red and Blue.
  21. Say nothing, it's not hard
  22. I admit, I was surprised myself
  23. I think this is quite clever from Hardwick, it's a way to have a go at the umpires without attracting the usual fines. The media will go nuts about the state of the game and Hardwick will have subtly made his point.
  24. It seems GA tickets aren't available for the Richmond game until 9 am tomorrow, and watch the price gougers kick in, surprised if anyone finds tickets under $60
