  1. Love the photos as well thanks any of Bennell or Kossy ? hoping we have two great players here ! was bored with Social Isolation feeling better looking to football Not sure how I will feel about the season 2020. The first round was a write off, for us and at least two other sides. Go Dees
  2. I take your point, It all starts at the top, and not just on the field. But it is on the field that we as supporters mostly see. But when Jackson and Roos were in charge I thought it was going well. i have read all the other posts, its a great discussion and we are all going basically in the same direction, Top business men without football brains or real interest in football just keep the bottom line above water, thats needed but you need more as you suggest, "We have to have top business acumen with top footy smarts as well in the same people. Footy-smart Pres, CEO, all directors, and obviously from there on down thru the Footy Dept.We just haven't had the footy brains right at the top (board level) for anywhere near long enough, over the past Half Century." Its been too long since a flag and I am not sure I personally have much long term planning left, I personally need football to be simple and play to win each game. Like this thread, and I liked Brock as a player, blue collar but too slow and now we can see why, what a pity. Go Dees
  3. I have been watching this while exercising. what a great game. Even our lesser players going hard Stynes what a champion. Jakovitch that mid air soccer goal. Could do no wrong. how-did we ever let Spaulding go? and I thought 32 Clarke played well but I cannot remember him. 91 I was going regularly to the second half of games but cannot remember him. what was his story?
  4. Would be good. If we had a M. Voss, or M. Ricciuto, or even (GHU) a J.Hird (as a captain) or as far back as a RDB. Who could grab a game by the throat and force it to our result by the shear strength of character or resolve of that individual. They probably made mistakes as well but Max kicking points at different times......... makes you wonder. The remainder of the year beckons, losing game one, puts us in as a back marker. 0-2 in a shorten season, well shorten probably says it all. Not acceptable.
  5. Yes agree mostly. a combination of poor role models, poor administrators, and very poor personal decision. he took the drugs. No wonder he was slow. Had the ability and the football smarts, but failed or our coaches failed to get it out of him. I think there are a number of players that did not perform as they might. TJ anyone ? birds of a feather. And we attracted them. we all make our own decisions, some of my friends failed to get past 65. But they kept hard at it. I went a bit different to them, still hoping for a flag before I go. or three. just hope it’s different now. I am sure it was with PJ and Roos. For 2020 go Dees we won’t forget it.
  6. Isn’t he employed by the MFC
  7. Have watched this 3 times now. can only think, I hope all our forward line look at it and watch how the Ox Neitz Lyon and the wiz all attacked the ball and worked together. hell if Tom could be like The Ox
  8. Thanks again that was fantastic to watch. if only we had a couple like him now. those that did not see him play before his recos just would not believe how the ball followed him or how hard he hit packs and the heights he got to flying over players he was “special”. To quote a well known commentator
  9. Have a look on the MFC website for the photos of these two training together, Kossy getting a great example of application to reach a goal of playing AFL
  10. Thanks for putting this up will watch and remember. for me it is Tulip and The Ox. Best two players I can remember I only remember Barassi playing for the opposing side, Been others that made me go as well, the wizard , Jakovitch and jurrah to name a few, there might even be a couple playing now that might make me watch with pleasure again. Win or lose.
  11. I have absolutely no respect for this basket of a person since he left. No loyalty, just after the dosh. The dees were just getting (I thought) a decent side together and he follows the dollar signs. Basket ! His brother seemed quite a bit more loyal, cannot remember his leaving causing anywhere near the ill will.
  12. Do you want to win the premiership? what a silly question. This year and next year . Asterisk or not . i want to walk around with a grin on my face because the Demons won the flag. simple. its taken far too long! I will be dead soon. Some friends have kicked the bucket recently and have not seen a flag since1964. Bar a couple of attempts. once you are over 65 a couple of decades and you can easily die. sorry it’s cold and wet and MFCSS kicked in. I will feel better after a good Shiraz
  13. Gday Mal, keep forgetting how old you (and I ) actually are. good to see you are still reading this stuff Cheers Mate stay well ! bob
  14. The wiz only because he was a reason to go to watch football. Yze was such a reliable presence once you were there Both deserved games without doubt
  15. When Glenn played well, more often we won. Well thats my memory ! his efforts not respected enough IMO
  16. Great Game, went with a brother in law, his first for some time in person, sat one deck up in the northern stand area, Poor bugger was not well, and kicked the bucket a short time later, so seeing this with Jacko has a special memory. He enjoyed the weekend in town and so did I. A couple of beers and a Demons win in a finals game, cheers A very good memory, something really good to recall every now and then...
  17. And if we do play any more games then I hope we try Harley, it’s a non season anyway, most results will be tainted apart from our wins. So why not play him, Jones , avb and anyone else who might not be around in 2021.
  18. Yes I feel the same and yes no crowd to blame ! another wasted preseason and build up and very much like 2019 or earlier
  19. Yes you are probably correct poor flying times to get there, last game of a defunct round, all the uncertainty. why get invested in the game! unfortunately I had hoped for a strong response from about Christmas and was a little disappointed!
  20. While extremely disappointed, with the result, I was mostly disappointed with the way we sent the football into the F 50. Or how uncoordinated our forwards were, in relation to the ball carries coming down the ground. All we seemed to do was blast it high and long towards the goal area and the eagles raffled it and sent it back. Given that, the balance of the side did well for most of the game, some wins some losses, the forwards or more particularly the method of entry into the F 50, a few wins more losses. That has not changed for yonks, I go to a match and have no idea who will kick the goals for us, it seems futile some times....
  21. If you know these two either could have played and only they would have known who was there, identical. I was once snubbed by Henry by not speaking to me at the cricket, except of course it was Michael and I had not met Michael. I think I kept that "grudge" for 6 months, Will not forget that time, cos i knew they were twins. long time ago now.
  22. How about Henry Ritterman, late 60’s or early 70’s Rover also with Ajax but still follows Melbourne, and Dave Kelly. His name I think. Ruckman played about only small number of games about 1973.
  23. I will not be after a refund, too many years nil return anyway, what I would like returned is my respect of the players, once they win some games. and give value to us supporters that become members for years in a row. and some recognition from the club ( not personal) to the members for their support. What that might be I have nfi. this virus has shot 2020 down in flames, at least no one will forget this year, I am becoming jaded and bored ! still I can look down and see my feet, stay well
  24. Anyone who kicks the winning goal in a GF is a hero and legend. Strawbs Tulip and The Ox and Hassa was not his real name
