  1. The past doesn't exist, and Jack Watts is a critical cog in our team as we rise. He still has the potential to get much better as we get better. A forward line of Hogan, Gartlett, Watts, Kent, Petracca(?), Dawes/Pederson is already causing teams headaches, and once our midfield is sorted and I50s rise, Watts' skill, engine and increasing nouse will deliver scores for himself as well as those around him... He's currently No# 2 in Score assists at MFC (behind Brayshaw).
  2. The Swans with their poaching of Franklin from under the noses of GWS (read AFL) put their own interests ahead of the game. Skrew the Swans and Collis the "he said some rude words mum" wimp. Swans were out of order and exploited the rules to the detriment of the competition. Puts them in the same boat as us for tanking and the Dons for Jabbing... Good on Fitzy for letting him have it. And... what kind of [censored] bag reports on the colour of language used in a private conversation? [censored]! Edit: additional rant.
  3. We score well on the rebound when we can create fast ball movement. "Slingshot" J Brown was calling it during the Cats game, if we can break the press and get it out of our backline, we're very good at scoring...
  4. We're two wins better than last year, with a couple more in the "Could have, Should Have" category than last year... So any more wins a bonus! I hope Roo's and the boys continue to evolve their attacking game and style for the last month without fear of criticism and with the joy of playing teams under pressure to make the eight, and spoiling their dreams. Reckon 2+ wins as we come home with a wet sail, and 8 wins is an AWESOME result! best since 657 BC.
  5. Pendles was already rattled by the Vandenburg tackle a couple of minutes earlier. Jones rubbed in salt.
  6. Loved Vandenbergs tackle smash on Pendles just before half time.
  7. Adds another element to future season support as Should the MFC trade its first 2016 pick to GWS for a player, GWS will have a view on where the MFC will finish (i.e. the value of this first pick), and will be hoping we finish as low as possible, and suffering if we were to bounce up the ladder (reducing the value of their pick). Whole new dimension of strategy required by all clubs in order to manage and profit from this new element.
  8. Paul Roo's is feeling the grim dark oppressive doom that comes with being the coach (or Supporter) of the MFC. For someone who was at Fitzroy just prior to their "merger" with Brissie to say he's never been at a club that feels the pain of losing more than Melbourne, then he's finally got it... We are the twitchy gunshy wretch in the corner, expecting to get beaten up every week, dreaming and clinging to fleeing moments of success And when we inevitably lose, we turn down the lights and sway to Nick Cave and weep prayers to the football Gods to give us a sign. Any sign... Roo's foolishly thought he was the sign, and now he finds himself, like us, on his knees praying for one.... Welcome to the MFC Paul, you're finally one of us.
  9. I think the AFL needs to bring in a new initiative where for one round, the top teams play in the jumpers of the bottom teams. Simple! I know it's a sad sad sad concept, that could only be cooked up in a Demons fevered mind... but I'd like to enjoy the footy for one week.
  10. Same old same old from Mr Roos... Getting a little tedious.
  11. I feel sorry for the poor bastard who gets the "privilege" of being picked to play at the MFC...
  12. Agree. We were flat from the opening bounce, flacid, disinterested and unable to penetrate... or generate any interest.
  13. Twas shyte, cold, and uninspiring footy. Care factor gone down to Zero. So sick of supporting this rabble.
  14. I think the naughty Bennell would be a better bargain than Motlop. Cats won't let him go without a fight.
  15. 23 Goals! Hahahahahahaaaa So happy it's not us! "We are the navy blue, we are the old dark navy blue, we're the team that never lets you down...." Oops
  16. It could be that, like us last year, they are actually asking for overs in terms of compo they get for losing a free Agent or player. Same as we did with Frawley to snag Gus...
  17. Why'd the club bother when we've got Christians cryptic Tweet to work with?
  18. Oh contraire! the two most important questions facing mankind Is there a God? Will the MFC attract an A grade midfielder? Both require a ot of faith in the face of huge unknowns. Continue...
  19. Dee's by 60+ The Don's think they've had their low point... ... they haven't... ... yet.
  20. Hird has the smell of death, in regard to his coaching career, about him. Hope our boys put the sword to the Dons like the Saints last week... reckon they'll lose interest if they are behind. Too many transgressions by club and coach on that playing group. They'll lose till Jimmy is out the door.
  21. Maybe it was a turning point for Jeremy where he committed to the new team plan and his role in it. Believing in the direction and prospects of the MFC going forward, would be the biggest factor in deciding to stay or go, if I was in Jeremy's shoes.
  22. Betty and Maxy have just hit their straps! Why break them up by bringing in the Russian? Two young bulls [censored] full of confidence are just what we need to wear NikNat down. Why?
