WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JORDAN LEWIS
PaulRB replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have an old labrador (10yrs old +) who was starting to slow down, when we had to mind a young whippet for a year. Initially we were worried she be worn out by the whippet, but she actually sparked up, asserted her dominance and had a second lease of life... Lewis is a proud, professional athlete who's scaled most of the peaks available in the AFL, he'll earn his coin, and some. Be happy, he's gonna give us some sweet glorious moments in the next couple of seasons... -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
PaulRB replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Totally agree, Hibberd's boot and Hunt's speed combined will help with the switch and opening teams upon the rebound. -
With all the picks the Suns have accumulated, they may be looking to trade some into next years draft... Would we look to trade our 2017 First rounder (6-10) for the pick the Suns get for Presita i.e. pick 6?

With Lewis coming onboard, I think we'd be foolish to uses a spot for a mature player who's not immediately top 10 at the club.

Seems bizarre, we picked him up for a late-40's and late-60s slide of 11 places in the draft in total!!! Wow! -

Posters such as 'Drongo Pedantry' seem to forget this is entertainment, and being the killjoy who thinks he's the validation officer for the CIA is akin to the bore who watches a sci-fi film and loudly disclaims the possibilities being toyed with... its tedius. -
Welcome to Dreamland if we snagged all 3 plus Vardy. All aquiver at the mere prospect.

So if Lewis comes across are we then like a ... "destination club"? -
I'm enjoying developments myself. Dons on the rack to play ball and trade Hibberd for 2017 2nd Round, Hawks sweating over 2nd B&F player wanting to defect to us, and now Prestia deal with Tigers stalling... Seems perfectly poised as we turn for the run home.

He evidently wasn't expecting them both to jump at the "offer"...

If Hawthorn get Mitchell & O'Meara then ...
PaulRB replied to Cranky Franky's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon the Hawks moves this trade period will only hasten their demise as they give away and gamble in a desperate attempt to reclaim glory. -

the clubs that are losing players to the big clubs are either 1. poorly performing and managed clubs who have struggled for a period of time (3 yrs +) - Brissie, GC, Melbourne till 2015, Carlton, or 2. Powerful well performing clubs trying to snag the final advantage that will land them the flag - Geelong, Sydney, Hawks Most of the middle rung teams are been relatively unscathed and unable to attract, unless they have a gun with go home issues. Essentially some of these top 4 teams (Hawks and Geelong) are in the decline and hoping top snag another flag before the window shuts, but by this strategy are ensuring that when it does shut, it will be brutal for a while coming back. -

Just one offer thus far - "Their situation is they've offered a future second and we'd just like to get this year's second round so we're discussing that with them at the moment." Dodoro said. -
Last year we had bigger fish to fry, this year we don't...

Agree. The AFL's version of "integrity" has little base in morality, but managing image and their egos. We embarrassed them and were punished for it. Nothing to do with integrity.
-
Spencer - 203cm Gawn - 208 cm So we have 2. I must have missed something...
-
I agree. However, by certain foolish MFC officials being too gleeful about our "underperformance" a few years back we forced the AFL to assist us "without it being seen as a PP.
-
The lions don't have a Frawley to trade out for overs in compo, so the AFL had to fess up... Pick 19, hardly worth our indignation... and not a big leg up for Brissie.

Good to see the Club get on with evolving the coaching team under Goodwin. Welcome to the MFC Troy...
