  1. I find the talk of Jackson (and Brayshaw) leaving weird, tbh. I imagine the press conference and a reporter asking him why he left, if not for just money... and Jackson saying "... after these last two premierships in my three years so far at Melbourne, I figured I should roll the 18-sided dice and abandon my red and blue teammates and the lure of a truly historic football dynasty and hope something better happens in my football career. It seems the smart thing to do." Doh, what?...
  2. I figure this thread is as good a place for this and the others covering the following. Ideal run home Win next three Jackson announces a 5 year deal with Demons, "loves playing with the boys!" Win next two Brayshaw announces a 5 year deal with Demons, "Want to be part of a multiple Premiership era at this club, MY club!" Win next six. Boom!
  3. Freo could also offer the tutorage of the players most similar to how you’d play Jackson to unleash all his potential, in Nate Fyfe. Jackson goes to Freo to be Fyfes replacment in the middle. plus 10,000,000 AUS
  4. Both Freo and WC are just doing the "ground work" required to make a move on Jackson at the end of his next contract with Melbourne, i.e. in 3 years time, or when he hits free agency... Looking to influence Luke's term with Melbourne to map it to their needs and plans.
  5. https://www.latrobe.edu.au/nest/generation-dry-why-young-people-are-drinking-less/#:~:text=This research stems from earlier,do%2C how much they drink. And just so you don't have to read the link... "Those now in the young adult group, 18-24 year olds, are drinking about 20 per cent less than that age-group ten years ago."
  6. It begs the question, if the drug taking is NOT performance enhancing, why is it any of the AFLs business..? Young people have moved away from the socially allowed drugs in alcohol and cigarettes in droves, and now recreate with other drugs... society (as is common) is slowly catching up.
  7. Like JVR rolling back to stem the flow.
  8. Recon Bell could be a prospect as well.
  9. Our kids are coming on… very exciting.
  10. Turner IN. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1146355/disco-time-mid-season-draftee-to-debut
  11. Is this because he practices every week against the trash talking Steven May..? would kill any player's confidence..?
  12. Drawing a long bow here, but a comment up the thread about Adam Goodes and latent racism in australia has me thinking… why wasn’t the DeGoey incident investigated but the May one is to be..? why the pile on? Would it have been a different reaction if it had been TMac instead of May? I don’t have a strong opinion on it, but was curious to ask the question…
  13. The "scuffle" consisted of "flicked gravy" and "May tipped over Melksham's chips"... 🤪 WTF
  14. I inadvertently displayed a lack of humility at the Melb vs Hawks final in 2018, and ... loved it. I usually sit behind the goals at the punt road end, and when we score, will clap and turn around to watch the crowd behind me also cheering, enjoy and savour the moment, while enjoying them doing likewise... but in that final our seats were a single row in a solid bay of Hawks fans ... so when Melksham jagged the goal that killed their run I was on my feet chapping and cheering loudly, I turned around and realised that 500 Hawks fans were looking at me as I eyeballed their misery while cheering loudly. The first time it happened I was kinda shocked... but the second time was pure pleasure and got a few of them heckling me about the merger, years in the wilderness, etc... was awesome.
  15. I actually thought Saints too, as Tex would replace Membrey as their second tall after King, and add a lot of potency to their forward half as a result, with Membrey a capable 3rd tall.
  16. Happy for Weid to get another crack at it... feels like its just a matter of time before it all clicks for him.
  17. While I doubt it's us, he would add potency in an area where we can appear to need new options... i.e. tall forward. And on his day is a genuine gun.
  18. I think out ins and outs are all system based, as in Viney back = Dunstan out Harmes out = Melksham stays in. if Harmes was recovered and back it would have been Melky out.
  19. Fair enough, I actually think Tasmania has huge potential to grow its population, economy and brand (tourism, research, migration), if they could align on a more progressive vision (and message) to drive it. And an AFL team would assist them to do this.
  20. Love Tassie, and they deserve a team. Some economic size figures: Tasmania GDP - $34 Billion NT GDP - $ 25 Billion Victoria GDP - $ 474 Billion Queensland GDP - $ 366 Billion
