  2. Man, there is some pent up aggression on this site. its kinda wild. Go Demons!
  3. All this Clarry angst, speculation and derision is so shortsighted and negative, putting aside the disrespect aspect… One week after we lose Trac from our midfield, with Oliver dealing with a hard tag, we win the midfield contest and win the game of footy. Wtf is the problem? Why the vitriol toward Clarry? What does he need to do vs Lion for those “supporters” potting him, trading him and slagging him off to pull their righteous horns in? What does he need to do if he gets another hard tag..? … and if we win, and our midfield does ok, does Clarry get some credit as a pivotal player in the middle despite his stats? It feel like is just an ugly toxic part of the Melbourne supporter culture that we turn so quickly, and savagely on one of our absolute gems.
  4. Wish the AFL would introduce fines on umpires making [censored] decisions. Give to charity and make the boys in yellow more accountable.
  5. Atomised view from the Age. Footy is a team sport, Clarry finding himself (again) with the heavy tag from Phillips went and sit on Ugle-Hagen (spelling off) which resulted in Jack Viney having more latitude to create, which he did. Hence Goodwin seeing this as selfless, which it was. Media analysis is so shallow, click bait and cult of personality driven that it offers little useful observations…
  6. Hear! Hear! 👏👏👏
  7. Good to see Petty get more involved and clunking a couple of his marks. The wheel is turning. 😃
  8. Shouldn’t have been close, but happy to take the win and contemplate some positives… liked Rivers in the middle, JV a true champion,… Oliver making his taggers earn it, played angry which I’m warming. Bring on the Bears. Go Demons.
  9. Fair. But tbh we’ve not been close so far this year. Had a thought that with Trac out, and the pressure kinda off, the boys might relax, click and start enjoying their footy again… Hears hoping they do in Brisvegas with you watching…
  10. Go Big Col! Straight up off the mat after Monday’s schemozzle and back on that red and blue pony! I salute you! 😃

Worst case we finish 14th... pick 5... and a free September, and move on to 2025. First world problems. :)
  12. Time for a training montage… Go Demons! 😃

    Desperate times my friend!
  14. I find those moaning about their dashed hopes of snapping up Chris Judd with pick 11 in the mid season draft, a midfield gun who, with zero AFL preseason will outperform players who’ve been on our list for several years,… frustrating and delusional. Luker looks like a classic MFC pick, in this our golden age of recruiting (all praise JT), in that while he has attributes that needed more development, he has the MFC signature qualities of aggression in contest, demonstrated willingness to work hard and earn his place in the big league. Welcome aboard young man! And congratulations. Go Demons.
  15. There was a brief patch in the third quarter where our contest intensity and ball movement went into high gear and in 5 min we’d killed the game. That patch, is the level we’re seeking and working towards. i was encouraged by that, and if we can take that into next week, grow it some more… then we may build some genuine momentum for the second half of the season and into finals. pumped! Go Demons…

Loving the discussion, we all want us to improve and have theories on what’s wrong and if/how we could fix it. I agree with the “changing the golf swing” analogy, and would add that this strategy has been retarded through the absence of Bradshaw (a huge loss), and the injuries to some of our HB distributors in Salem and Bowey (whom have both been off since return). Add to this our difficulties in stabalising our tall forwards with TMac exit, BBB near retirement, JSmith out, and Petty slow to build form post injury. Despite all this Goody is still looking to evolve our game and blood new talent. Agree with the optimists that, while we are deep in the pack as we reach the middle of the seasons race, we are capable of finding our mojo and momentum over the next month… We shall see. Go demons!
  17. That Harley goes well…
  18. With BBB, Salem and McAdam in, I’m looking for us to really connect forward of centre and dominate on the scoreboard. Hopefully this will allow us to reset and settle our offensive game so we can build cohesion for the rest of the h&a season. Looking for a 10 goal win with us keeping them to under 10. Go Demons.

Given the volume of historical data on AFL player injury recovery times and ranges, these should be given next to a specific players estimated time to recover. would help educate… ie Turner - mild calf strain - 2-3 weeks (club estimate) - 2-6 weeks (AFL recovery range).

The Dems didn't blow a gasket about the having sex with Stormy Daniels 10 years prior to 2016 election. They object to Trump ILLEGALLY breaching campaign finance laws to cover it up... Id have thought with your legal mind you'd be aware of this Red..?
  22. Fav game v Blues was back in 2004...

  24. I agree. Our defense/ contest game requires us switched on. Was more a point on what we lead with in terms of game strategy early. I think that for us to really complete our development of the offensive phase of our game we should be experimenting with starting with an offensive mindset early on, so as to stress test and develop that part of our game. We know we’ll defend well as it’s now in our DNA… but are we ready to see if our offensive overhaul is also ready to drive us to win games as well..?
