  1. Love the new emoji!!
  2. When Goodwin traded our last quick player in Frosty our Defence got better. Speed is only valuable if used in the context of the game plan... My question on Hunt and his development this year is not about his speed or ability to kick goals, but his ability to complement and serve as a cog within the broader system Goodwins putting together. If not, like Frost, then trade him.
  3. I'd settle for 22 Std 20min (plus time on) per quarter games made up of 12 x 2:10 pm Saturday afternoons games at the G 1 x 2:10 pm Monday Queens Birthday at the G 1 x 7:10 pm Thursday ANZAC Eve Game at the G 2 x Friday night games 2 x Sat night games 4 x whatever whenever Like in the good Old Days...
  4. Maybe the two events are connected.
  5. Assuming Harley is fit and on track, this issue should be treated no differently to any other player doing it... I.e. cope the fine learn the lesson and move on. If fit and on track, and we believe he can contribute to the team over next few years, then extend his contract, and get him ready for round 5 2021. storm in a CoVID teacup, and not a hangable offence, stupid yes.
  6. I assume that the 50k penalty would be coming from Harley's pocket and not the clubs..? If his body is on track, and the coaches and fitness people reckon he can take the next step season, nothing has changed and lets sign him on for another year.
  7. What’s worse... 1. Playing in the GF in 2019 then dropping to 10, OR 2. Finishing 17th in 2019, then rising to 9th..? ?
  8. Pea hearts at GWS are making us look ... ok.
  9. The prize is an opportunity to knock the Weagles out of finals on their home deck... That would make me very happy, and go some way to atoning to the humiliation out west at the end of 2018.
  10. A question: How many former captains of this club have we ever held onto for too long? (can think of several we "let go" too early...).
  11. Demonlanders have us at 70% chance to miss out on finals... so 30% reckon we're a chance... ?
  12. Interesting that around 50% of the votes have the Saints losing tonight, but just 10% the Doggies losing on Sunday... So it largely rides on tonight's game, and on us following it up with the Dons tomorrow...
  13. Ruminating on this weekends scenarios, the Bradbury opportunities we may have and the whims of the football Gods... So figured it was time for a poll! Go Demons!
  14. Fully expecting hope and then a crushing disappointment. Cant tell if the MFC has finished playing with my emotions for the year, or they have another smack down beating (or two) in store. Gotta love em... ?
  15. While I’m not a fan of Mummy or the heavy hits he was dishing out, I like that he did it, and we soaked it up and still won the game. For those of us who can recall the 2000 GF, we know that the gloves can come off in the big game, so I’d prefer our guns learn to soak it up and win the game than go into our shell and expect the umps or tribunal will protect us. Personally, would have preferred some of the boys flew the flag, but the modern game doesn’t allow such distraction, especially when it’s close.
  16. Would be ironic (poetic, tragic..?) if Hogan was to lift the Demons into a second finals series (that he wouldn’t be partaking in) in three years, next Friday...
  17. Problem is if Hawks beat Dogs we’re in 8 and back in control of our run to finals... ... and we all know what’ll happen next. ?
  18. Go Saints!
  19. Goodwin has the worst job in football, trying to extract consistent performance form this mob. If you were an aspiring or experienced AFL coach and Pert whispered “Come coach the Demons..?”, you’d run a mile. Tonight... roll a dice. Go Dees ?
  20. Go doggies. Team with heart. wish it was us
  21. I'd not play him again this year. Needs to build his confidence in body as others have said. He also needs to build trust and his brand around his contested and defensive intensity/commitment. Club need to play those players who may contribute to high intensity finals footy, and Harley appears well off that level.
  22. Given where Sydney are at we should beat them comfortably. So the team selections are less about matching our team to beat Sydney, but more to identify and consolidate the best team that we can take forward through the remainder of the season, into our first elimination Final against one of Westcoast, Collingwood, Saints etc... It appears that there are 3-4 spots or roles up for grabs with several candidates or options for each. I'd expect if we can avoid injuries, we shall aim to have no changes between round 18 and finals with the selections settled with the final addition of Jackson for the Dons game. This internal competition for the final available 2-3 spots in our best 22 should keep us building and winning... Good signs Go Demons
