How do you play golf at night NSC? Have they put lights in or is it a glow-in-the dark ball?

Thoughts on possible coaching succession plan
Moonshadow replied to S.R.J's topic in Melbourne Demons
How bout a succession plan for the coaches, players, board, FD..... FMD what a dumb idea, at the moment lets just focuss on getting a quality coach and players. -
I'll stop. Please don't - just had dinner. And the new fella deserves better.
-
Just as well we can't see where your hands are at Aunty Bitter.
-
We are GWS's new bunny.

He took one look at BBO an ran for his life. Probably follows the Filth now. They may not have their own teeth, but at least they don't over do it on the eye shadow.
-
Says the man wearing a studded collar and covered in terrible eye shadow
-
I think your avatar is perfect or that line BBO.
-
Might put a bit of hardness into his game.
-
Would you prefer he was top 5 in B&D, BBO?
-
Watts will finish top 5 in the Bluey, not that his team mates are throwing up much of a challenge.
-
Did I say that other clubs would pay more than us or were interested in him, Card? If he plays increasingly well and kicks a couple of bags of 4 goals during the remaining games this year, I'd say his manager would use that as leverage to claim his worth is greater than it might be ATM. Watts and his manager are backing him to potentially be worth more at season's end than now. However, now that you mention it, I'd think that the Blues would be interested in Watts, and with Judd's salary dropping substantially next year, they'd go close.
-
Where does it say in the article that Watts will only re-sign if he approves of the new coach? What's that?.... oh, it doesn't. "We're going to wait until there is a coach in place" - which Jackson has said will be at the end of the season. Of course he'll take his time and try and bump up his price. All other 'opinions' in the article are that of Jake Niall, and we all know how trustworthy and fact-finding the senior footy writers are at The Age. Lets not jump to wild conclusions.

I wonder if we'll see Clark anywhere the park next year. More reason to keep Fitz.

Without Chip and Garland, J Cameron will tear us a new one this week.

Glen Bartlett the new MFC President? (It would seem not yet)
Moonshadow replied to cooko's topic in Melbourne Demons
Appropriately named News Limited. -
Cameron threatens to tear us a new one. Knowing our luck, $cully will collect 35 and Cameron will bag 10. Sheedy will have a [censored] eating grin at the after match presser. God help us.

Disagree. It's a draft for clubs to pick players, not the other way around. Doubt it would have happened, but so what if he sat out a season. Big deal. Would have proved that we were no pushover. I reckon Vlad would've taken a dim view of Ball's dummy spit, if that happened. And it's not like Gys or Tappy have set the world on fire. Gys was a massive surprise at 11. What a friggin waste.

Actually, we had 4 picks before Coll took Ball at 30. Gys (11) and Tappy (18) were the two that could easily have been Ball. I recall Bailey stating that once Ball chose Coll above Melb as his preference, he was off the MFC radar. How very polite and compliant of Bailey. Honestly, it beggars belief that we didn't pick him. What a joke we were at the time.

Luke Ball was exactly what we needed, and still need now OD. Missed opportunity.

Like we have the leaders who will pull him into line. He'd party every night if he was drafted by us. Will go 2nd round, which is too valuable for us to use on a player we aren't capable of developing. Would suit Hawks, Swans or Cats.
-
And to think we chose not to force Luke Ball's hand and take him in the draft when he walked out of St K, regardless of circumstances. Weak.

No reason why we cannot have a crack at Gaff at the end of this season during trade week, DL. Adams from GWS must be pursued as well. If his ankle passes a medical, Daisy could be a FA pick up. Nick Dal Santo? Not sure if he fits the type we want, but he'd be our best mid for a year or two, at the current rate. Obviously, some or all of these might not want to come to us, but we should have a red hot go regardless. Mitch Clark wasn't keen on coming to us either. Money talks. Need a coach first.

Fair enough rjay. All good. Chip certainly gives bang for buck because the ball is peppered in his direction so often. I too want to see him in red n blue for years to come, but also believe he has a trade price if that is what it takes.

Without bundling a player such as Watts with a mini draft pick, I doubt we'd get anything decent (obviously I'd prefer to keep Watts). Not quite the same, but Carlton had to give up Kennedy AND pick 3 (? I think) to get Judd. I know it's kind of gift horse/mouth, but a mini draft pick may not get us much on its own and could set a bad example in the future to the AFL. It was created to give a new franchise a bit of list experience. Would the Doggies deserve one in a couple of years if they finish near the bottom again? Or should GWS get more mini's if they are still struggling in 2 yrs? It's a PP in disguise, I think Stuie.
