  1. Dunny chose to break Roosy's defensive set plays by kicking a torp down the guts after a behind, only too watch it sail back over his head for a goal. He didn't play again for us. If you're going to defy the coach's instructions you'd better get something special out of it. He is a battling servant and by all accounts a ripping bloke. But I always thought he played the percentages to cover his man only, which suits another era of AFL. I recall him doing this repeatedly at Docklands vs Saints. It hung teammates out to dry everytime because he wouldn't leave his man to help. Different team and coach, different game plan, different player. Hope he recovers quickly. Long term I'd much rather have Omac, Lever and eventually, Petty. Small, skilled defenders with pace are what we need going forward.
  2. Nothing like an ugly loss to bring out the angry illiterates.
  3. Thanks, I forgot he was the coach.
  4. Gaff is just ok, but only if he won a B&F or finished top 3 in the Brownlow or was an AA, then I'd want him at the Dees
  5. How dare you let facts and reason get in the way of childish defiance!
  6. The industry they are in is football, not a share price, dividend driven market. And yes, they still do the equivalent to meat raffles, eg. Silent auctions for wine, jumpers, president lunches, etc. CEOs in real business don't do that. Missed the point again. Keep going if you wish. I'm out.
  7. Missed the point again. Let's move on chap
  8. Sorry chap, you missed the point, which was that I was surprised PJ wasn't involved in any way. Not sure which bit you are struggling with, unless you don't trust him or disagree with his opinions. The admin is part of a football club, which is not like a "normal business". Comparing a footy club with a normal business is a mistake, otherwise we would've folded years ago Caro has better intel than you could ever hope to salivate over. Sour grapes
  9. Are the Dogs permitted 15 players on the mark? If not, could the ump give another kick with a 50m penalty?
  10. 2 packets? Must be salt 'n vinegar
  11. Which was???
  12. Yes, he's a great pick for the doggies. And a big FU to Eddie that they couldn't have access to him!
  13. I too would've consulted PJ. The guy is an open book. I highly doubt he wouldn't put the club's interests first or let ego get in the way. Pert's appointment may be a master stroke, but to me it sounds like the process could've been handled better. That Bartlett read the landscape wrong is evidence of this.
  14. As I said, lol posters playing the man. Wilson named plenty of people. If you read it for what is says without rose coloured, anti-Caro glasses, there are clearly some concerning issues in the appointment process. Comparing an AFL club with a "normal business" is ridiculous. It's similar to posters comparing player payments with what they'd get in the 'real world'. Apples and oranges. Jackson being involved in the selection process, as opposed to "ticking off the incoming" CEO, makes perfect sense, unless of course, you don't respect or trust PJs opinion. I certainly do.
  15. Dunn, after his Roos-defying torp kick in?
  16. Lol! Kev, your reports are the best I have read on Land. Please keep up the good work and ignore the trash talkers
  17. I thought it a good article, assuming what she writes is accurate. There's a lot in there that I wasn't aware of, some of it unfortunate. What concerns me is the separation of PJ from the selection process. He has more knowledge of how to run an AFL club that the whole board put together. Also, the lack of contact with some of the key people during Pert's time at Collingwood seems to defy due diligence by the board. And lol to posters playing the (wo)man rather than the ball.
  18. Nice sentiment, but imo on a 12 deg, wet winter twilight game at the G vs Freo, Port, Brisbane or GCS we would be lucky to draw 20,000. I haven't checked figures from a range of attendances of interstate teams vs lowly supported Vic teams (like us) this year at the G. And would the property above the Jolimont rail line be ours or would we lease the development from the govt? The state and/or federal govt would need to tip in at least half of the money needed to build. Not sure they'd give us ownership as well.
  19. Wouldn't it be grand for him to play another 50-80 games. Hope he does well
  20. Ignore function is a sanity saver when it comes to Deeluded's posts. Except of course, when others quote him
  21. He's not a FA, so Norf will have to trade for him on top of paying $1mill pa. Probably 1 rounder + second rounder. This could come back to bite Norf on the bumm
  22. And I'd say you didn't read my post. What I did post was that his observations are pretty obvious, and the FD will be onto it
