POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Brisbane
In close matches the side with more poise and belief usually wins. I had little doubt that Langdon and Weideman would miss their shots at goal. So predictable. But FFS I couldn't believe Bennell's miss. Shouted at the TV when that happened. Same with Kozi's miss. I can't believe that no one has used the "c" word in this thread. The fightback was good, but the missed shots and lack of poise ultimately cost the match. A lot has been said about Hannan's kick to Fritsch. Were there any other options? By that I mean any other players to kick to. Rather than options other than kicking the ball out on the full. Some of Max's hitouts were straight to Lions' players. However, some of the hitouts were to teammates who then handballed to teammates under pressure or didn't otherwise move the ball on straight away, causing turnovers. Brisbane's pressure was good. Surely the Demons' players should realise this!! Good sides don't give you time. It ain't rocket science. I know I sound like a dinosaur, but when we were being killed in clearances, would there be any value in Max occasionally just punching the ball 20/30 forward to mix it up? The team will have to defeat Port to keep its season alive, but I can't see that happening.

NON MFC: Round 08
Incredibly the Crows could have snatched that matched. Just kept stuffing up.

NON MFC: Round 08
FWIW I hope that the shortened matches continue after covid-19; if/whenever that is. More close matches/less blowouts. I don't like the Saints much, but glad for Ratten. He has endured a lot ... sacked as coach of the Blues/son dying. He was awesome as Demons' midfield coach.

Really good match. Hope GWS win ... but I think Tigers will run over the top of them.

What they're saying down at Glenferrie Road
The word "schadenfreude" springs to mind.

Will Petracca Feel Brownlow Love?
The fact that he is being talked about so much will help his cause. I'm sure that influences the umpires when awarding votes.

NON MFC: Round 07
He's not doing much better tonight. His gushing is towards the first gamer Weightman and "Duck, Duck, Duck ...." Perhaps he could look at the replay and report back how many times he said "Duck" in a quarter? In which quarter did he say "Duck" the most? What was the longest interval between saying "Duck"?

On the Couch - The Red Zone
As I've mentioned several times, I've come across Lyon a number of times at close quarters. Dreadful man. Sadly he was my favourite player back in the day which kinda makes it worse. i also dislike Watson. His smarminess is excruciating. The combination of Lyon & Watson is appalling. Can't stand McAvaney either. His demented growling sends me spare. His sucking up to Carey "duck ... duck ... duck" is ridiculous. And calling players by their nicknames e..g Sauce is painful. BT ... nup. Ling ... same. Brown's a meathead. Perhaps I just hate everyone? Actually, Reiwold despite being boring is capable of some reasonable comments. And I find Richo quite endearing. I'm going to bed ... night all. I think I've lost the plot.

That's great that he played well on Saturday. But let's not get carried away just yet.
