Singin' my song man. Posted in a thread the other day how attending a game is a 700k round trip for me. I've turned up plenty of times when the players haven't. Gets old and makes the drive home real long. Have found if I stay home and watch on TV and we're stinking it up I can go out the backyard with the radio and not waste all my day. I've also seen plenty of games where our crowd is very quiet early only to rouse late game. By product of watching us capitulate too often I reckon. Wish it wasn't like that but it is. I said to my young bloke one game "Gets loud doesn't it." "Yeah, but it's always the other team." was his reply. Broke my heart. Saving grace was taking the kids to see us in the finals in '19 with huge pro Melbourne crowds. Hannan kicking his goal right infront of us was off the richter scale. Cherished memories. "Melbourne fans breath it in." ❤️

Oh no. Lost one. The sky is falling.

I agree. But can't just expect the backline to hold the joint together every week though. Haven't seen any officiant consistent footy from the mids or forwards for weeks. That would be helpful.
-
Cause thats how Goodwin wants the forward line to operate. Scamble it forward somehow and then scramble a goal.

Won't be long and I'm off to watch a mate play rugby. Will listen to the carnage on the radio and quietly stew.

Sculling bathwater.

Nah, drove from Pakenham to Tooradin on a weekday. Was probably dealing with peak traffic time too. Maybe 4-5pm. And spent a few days a couple times recently doing the tourist stuff around the Geelong area. And that was summer holiday time, latest was New Years Eve. As I said, found it much nicer than the other side. Still a heap of people around but felt it'd be much quieter off peak.

Is Hurley still there? Their mids are small, get plenty of ball but do little damage. They've got a couple promising young talls. How quickly they come on will dictate how they go over the next couple years. And my Essendon analysis is on the strength of watching their one game against us. If they we're playing in my front yard I'd set my pig dog on 'em and then draw the curtains.
-
And so they should. She's the best in the game IMO. Most those other fools still think they're in the 90's and tactically haven't bothered to keep up with the modern game. Living off their status as past players.
-
And I've made it my mission in life to never let any essendon supporter I run across forget it.

By Ellen do you mean Parish? I read Parish and thought .... Pfft.

Charged over for a stickybeak. Pretty boring in the grand scheme. Penny's dropped that they aren't as good as they thought they were. Corkheads that they are.

Thought I'd go for a pleasant drive with the kids from Pakenham to Tooradin for Fish & Chips recently. What a sheetfight. Not the sleepy trafficless joint it used to be 30yrs ago. Outskirts of Geelong was far better though still too many people for my liking. I'll tell ya something else for nothin', it's all forked down there in Melbourne and surrounds. You poor rats living in it just don't realise.

I'm so conflicted. Love that Essendon are getting done but hate that Geelong are winning.
-
I feel the game plan revolves around stopping enough goals.

And to be clear I know many posting here are diehards. But many are not. I'd love to attend more games but its a 700k round trip. And I've done that trip many times to watch us get flogged. Makes for a long drive home. Once I drove down for Garry Lyons 200th game against Collingwood. Got to the outskirts of town and heard on the radio that Lyon had pulled out. We then proceeded to get smacked. That really hurt. And I've accumulated many other tales since. Often with the poor kids in the car trying to light their Melbourne FC fire. Backfired on me that plan.

Yeah, covid maybe. Richmond only got about 9k there last night. But for the most part we're not a very rabid supporter base. Never have been. Not in my lifetime anyway.
-
Problem is we still don't turn up in numbers as shown last week. I feel for the players. Working their arzes off and we're cheering from home.
-
Well I don't want Mummy beating up on Jackson either. Jackson will jump over him a few times and Mummy will try to negate that the only way he knows how.
-
Must admit I was pretty sheepish when sprung. Also remember a richmond supporter sitting next to me spending the game ****canning us to the 2 women he was with. I leant over and said "Mate, you realise you follow forken Richmond, shut the fork up." Didn't hear a peep for the rest of the game.

Found myself singing along pre-game one time. The death stare I got from an old woman Melbourne supporter near me was priceless In my defence it was the theme song of the club I played for. Hadn't been to a live game for awhile and was pretty excited. We won by 10 goals.

Prefer the Poms over those diving cheats Italy.

Riewoldt has been a sook his entire career. Not gonna change now. Might get $1000 and a slap on the wrist.

Yeah, quite happy they kept Essendon to 57pts. Showed they're far more concerned with defence than offence within the club.
