  1. Yeah, maybe.
  2. Garry Lyon - a question. Do you recall the dees beat the pies on kb?
  3. Serious question. When was the last time we were 44 points down half way thru the last quarter?
  4. I'm still confident the pies will come back. Coz, you know they ALWAYS do.
  5. Feet of clay.
  6. Pendulbury has so much time.
  7. Has Garry Lyon realised yet the pies are not leafing?
  8. Lyons 'what we all love about the way the pies play' (ie fast transition linking by hands) is one of their vulnerabilities. It looks great. But creates too many turnover opportunities in tbe heat of super high pressure games. And when tbey do turn it over they get exposed on the counter too often because their defence pushes up so high and with no sweeper.
  9. Coz according to the pie fan boys, you only need to play a season and a half of elite home and away games to be considered a great team or the best player. By the by, on bont, he must be a shot at winning the Brownlow. Daicos has had a brilliant year, but others will take votes off him. And the bont has been the best player by a mile in at least 6-7 games I've seen - and he kicks goals. He is also impossible to miss when he gets it - and can't be confused for his brother!
  10. The other thing is because they are the benchmark, even teams out of finsls contention wantto use them to do an audit of where their game is at. And of course want to beat them. So they get no easy games. It was def a factor for us last year. The other issue they face is a team like the hawks who ate not playing finals dont have dont have to worry about keeping their tactical cards to their chest. Dacois 3 kicks (including a free and a kick out) is evidence of what I mean. The contenders get the benefit of seeing what works against them without having to show their hand.
  11. Memo to the fox peanuts - 29 points at half time in perfect conditions IS an example of a team with connection and efficiency issues.
  12. Short arms we used to say in cricket for slip fielders who preferred not get near a catch rather than risk dropping it.
  13. Yeah, I would have thought so too. You have to win week one of the finals after all.
  14. Wow. What a soft effort from degoey then. Ended up with a ruan goal. No comment from the callers?
  15. If the hawks can keep going, we'll know the answer in the last 20 mins of the game i reckon. If they can't roll over the top of the hawks like we did the tigers, then the perhaps their timing of their program is different to ours (ie we're almost out the other side already).
  16. Yeah, I wondering the same thing. But surely it's pretty late in the season not to be close to your optimal shape and playing your best footy? But agree, it's def a possibility. They certainly look to be making fatigue skill errors.
  17. Al jokes aside, I would be surprised if they're running out of gas - unless, like us last season, they have injuries that are not known about. But agree, they play a very taxing game - physically and psychologically. This game reminds me of the lions suns game. The suns came to play. The lions didn't. And it is very hard to turn that energy around. As I said about the lions it's a worry for contenders to not to come into a game fully switched on tgis late in the campaign. As ramanaskas noted on abc this morning, flag winners historically win their last 4 and come into the finals in red hot form. Lions lode to suns. Port a good chance of losing 5 zip. Pies lose last week and 5 goals down 5 mins into the second against the 16th placed side. Mmm, of the contenders, who does that leave?
  18. At this rate they may not even win this years minor premiership! (To be clear for all the pie worshippers - and you know who you are - that was a joke).
  19. Gary Lyon - let's see how this GREAT side responds. For the love of God, they are not a great side.
  20. All good points, well made. My thinking abour spargo coming back in as much about what I think goody will do, rather than my own assessment of him. My gut feel is he has been at vfl level to work on his tank and get it to the level it needs to be to play the role tmac says is 'by far the hardest in football'.
  21. The bont is easily in my top 10 players I have seen in my lifetime.
  22. Of course we wanted more. But for a club that is still in the development phase giving up your first and second rounder for one player - even if you finish top 8 as they surely would have expected - creates challenges in terms of bringing in multiple quality young players though the draft. Or use them to target a need to trade - for example a really good inside mid that they so badly need.
  23. Put it on a stamp already? There's stamps with pictures of hangers on them? Probably the only way maxy gets on a stamp then - as the player getting his head jumped on!
  24. Geez, give a fella some authority and he goes all hard core, my way of or the highway, rules are there to be followed.
  25. Sure. All players have clangers. Bowey, arguably our best kick, missed a 20 metre kick under no pressure over the head of a teammate all by himself last week, gifting a shot on goal from 40.
