  1. FFS. Petracca is at a point where he just needs to handball to someone running past every time he gets it. His kicking is absolute poison at the moment.
  2. We butchered so many inside 50's in the first quarter, Petracca in particular had a deplorable kicking game, Oliver not far behind him. GWS turned everything over that quarter and we crumbled at the crucial times. I saw too many players in self-preservation mode, not putting manic pressure on (Oliver back to his old ways), not putting hands up on the mark, not concentrating on tackles and consistently getting side stepped. There was no run and carry until it was too late. We just wanted to play boring, comfortable football, without risks. With zero reward. Then when we did take a bold kick, we'd fumble it or not take the first option. Pickett didn't look interested and must be dropped or rested unfortunately, Spargo couldn't get near it, ANB killed chains and Viney was a mess. For me though, Petracca and Oliver's games were the most disappointing. Their execution sucked the life out of us. Ben Brown wouldn't have made a difference today.. the way we kicked it, they would have swallowed him up easily. We didn't hav any ground players around anyway. Unfortunately we are still a poor skilled team who can't compose at key moments. If we don't bring A Grade Pressure, we're just an average unit that can easily be beaten by bottom 8 teams. FLATTTTT ?
  3. Oliver is shocking in front of goal, has zero confidence.
  4. 'We'll learn from this'? Have we not been 'learning' how to deliver inside 50 for about 10 years now? SOME OF THE THINGS I HATED TODAY : 'Senior' players sh*tting themselves and serving up absolute TRIPE inside 50 all day. Sparrow looking like a scared little kid and not having the guts to go the torp. Too terrified to fail. Needs a spell until he can at least pretend to be confident footballer, because he looks incredibly nervous Lack of pressure in the midfield at every centre clearance We've gone back to panicked handballs to guys under even more pressure Millionaire football, holding on to the ball and thinking we're going to walk through tackles. Arrogant as hell. Bayley Fritsch just coasting around all day after losing a contest and not getting involved again. No 2nd efforts. Weideman. Have backed him from the start but that was just a flaccid soulless effort all day. And Ben Brown ain't it. Now every team can be confident they're in with a shot against us.
  5. What are you doing Sparrow, this isn't under 15's. Get rid of it! Clarry and Trac set that bad example
  6. Well at least he's kept his opponent quiet... Oh wait, he hasn't done that either.
  7. Absolutely getting ahead of ourselves, blokes like Petracca and Oliver taking on tacklers and failing, instead of giving the easy or obvious option. Really disappointed with Petracca today, we need him, along with Tmac and Weid unable, unwilling to demand the ball or run to the right spot. I would love to see a montage of our pathetic kicks inside 50 today. Either straight out of bounds, straight to 3 huge Collingwood players, or so wide it would be impossible to score anyway, just over and over and over. At this point I think we'd get more of a wake-up call if we lost this game, because we sure as hell don't deserve to win it. YUCK
  8. 'Cool customer with the ball, Brayshaw' I beg to differ BT. I have never seen us play this badly forward of centre, EVER.
  9. and nobody is going to them! The lack of pressure is horrendous.
  10. LOL at our inside 50's, seriously. Kick it any higher and wider guys? Collingwood are literally demonstrating how to do it, yet we can't get our heads around it.
  11. Delivery inside 50 is DISGUSTING And any danger we can stop firing panicked rocket handballs to blokes with 3 opponents already on them? Horrible to watch so far.
  12. That was the worst best goal I've seen
  13. Jesus it's so weird how TMac just melts through tackles sometimes ?
  14. probably because he plays for so many
  15. Whats the point of sagging back and letting them walk it out of their defensive 50, when we then don't even man up on the wing? When is leaving Daniel Rich alone a good thing? Clearances now 13-22. 4-10 in the middle. Horrendous. Who is playing on Bailey?
  16. GOD! Two terrible kicks in a row by Trac, it's costing us. Can't blame our forwards tonight, the midfield is letting them down.
  17. Clearances 9-16. There's a lot of gumby efforts by Melbourne players tonight, reminds me of the Adelaide game. Aaaaand another throw by us. Aaaaand another holding the ball. Jackson is better off staying away from the ball tonight. I'm not a Brayshaw fan but he's been great.
  18. STOP WITH THE DUMB FREES MELBOURNE
  19. So we come out, give away a dumb free and then give away a dumb goal. Great start.
  20. Would help if we could win a clearance! But yes, Weideman is never there when you need him.. and Jackson has the conviction and marking ability of a nervous 12 year old.
  21. Can't buy a clearance. The lack of pressure and number of loose Lions around the ground has been extremely concerning. Defence looks nervous as hell. They're giving us a lesson in how to mark.
  22. As well as we've played, the marking tonight has been poor. Very jumpy with the ball in the air the last 2 weeks. but overall I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THIS
  23. I always feel sorry for the poor cleaners/club officials who have to deal with the aftermath..
  24. No offence but you can't be serious.. Gus officially had 10 clangers today, only 1 tackle and just 66 ranking points (Oliver 140, Langdon 110 for scale). That is a horrendous waste of 26 possessions. I can't see how you can think he's possibly improved?
  25. Tom McDonald you star. What a resurrection. Heart and Soul stuff. Fantastic win against a team that was incredibly hungry. Brayshaw is getting shakier by the week. Never feel confident when he has it, it's a real concern for us. He's way off the pace. I'd almost bring Jones in instead next week. Well done guys, what a year. I can't believe this is actually happening.
