Never mentioned. The only measure commented on was sustained success and playing finals next year.

Greg Stafford Goalkicking Messiah? - Possibly
The following means nothing coaching-wise but worth looking at Staffords goalkicking stats from playing days from 2001 to find an angle. I think we're on a winner with this appointment based on this. At least he should understand what successful kicking should look like - or not. GL BH 2001 19 6 2002 26 10 2003 20 5 2004 6 3 2005 16 9 2006 15 5 Total 102 38 or 73% success rate Brian Taylor 64% (one of the very best I've seen for method) Peter Hudson 71% (the best I have seen) Christian Petracca 56% (over 3 seasons, but becomes 52% over last 2 seasons, but small sample size) David Neitz 63% Tom McDonald 69% ( last 3 years since moving to FF) - 77% in Year 1 of FF in 2017 Gary Ablett 60% Tony Lockett 70%

Well said. I have never been more mortified about such an attack which I'm not repeating. Huge kudos to Goodwin on the classy manner he dealt with the question.

Injury List 2020
Burgess said tonight at the forum that he felt a twinge after driving melb to sydney and back . All good and is commencing running tomorrow

Some other key point were. The 666 rule means wingers are now critical specialist role . We tried 17 players in that position to no avail. Hence Tomlinson and langdon targetted. Both had 3 to 4 other clubs intereste. Jones will be playing higb forward and providing leadersip in that area. Frost moved on due to perceived lack of opportunities for him now. Goodwin mounted a strenuous defence of oscar after a particularly moronic and nasty question from the floor Dees had the highest number of total team changes at selection for the year. Ahead of next biggest by 50%. Illustrated depth of injury woes Burgess believes the game is won by marking and kicking well and will have preseason programs built on 80% with footballs. Running laps at traing doesn't win games. He seemed right on top of his subject. Bpown away by condition players have presented themselves in at start of pre season.. . Huge wrap for Bruckner Petracca to now have significant more time in midfield in 2020 Josh Jenkins was never considered.

In general the questions were thoughtful and relevsnt. But several muppets as you say. Re. Point 3 above . It was lewis and hawn who completed 80% or more of pre season. Jones completed 30%. 10 key players completed less than 30% of preseason.

But they need to explain themselves over the car crash of 2019 to some degree to give confidence that lessons have been learnt and solutions prepared. Like the 2018 Prelim - you ignore failure at your peril.

Good summary of reasonable expectations for tonight. I hope my time won't be wasetd.

TRAINING: Monday 18th November 2019
Good analysis. My view is that its great ANB is doing well, but at crunch time, can he please kick gimme goals and not break my heart this coming season otherwise its all for nought..

Forwards coach
Dont agree completely. Last season we had more inside 50s many times and got beaten by 6 goals. The fowards seemed shambolic. Although the entries often were rubbish.

Captaincy 2020
Unfortunately i suspect jack doesn't have the emotional awareness that he should hand over to max. History is littered with these types and we have ours.

Fritsch Eager to Take it Up a Notch
Fully agree YB. His pack marks in defence in his first final, vs the Cats in 2018 when the game was up for grabs were a standout for me. He was harshly treated by match Cttee when dropped for prelim. Given he did have a few clangers in the hawks final, but had enough points to play. The fact that he fronted up with a good mindset in 2019 does the young man credit.

Ranked 8th Best List for 2020
So our defence is 13th and our forward line is 14th. But we make 8th overall. This guy (Goddard, not you Old Dee) is an idiot analysis-wise. Will be offered a job at Champion Data for sure.

Our Forwards Ranked 5th Worst
Dermot Brereton believes TMAc is not a natural forward and doesn't understand leading, positioning etc. and thus easy to negate. 2018 showed lack of analysis simply by opposition. 2019 was more reflective of his capabilities in playing deep forward. I suspect he is correct .

Jordan Lewis joins coaching team part-time
Often I reckon this is our weakness with quite a few players. In Geelong's halcyon days post 2007 they had an Elite Decision Making coach - David Wheadon. A brilliant thinker of the game and imparter of knowledge. When discussing the 2011 premiership he told me how important this issue was to that win, including Harry Taylor's marking at CHB. Everyone in the media raved about Tom Hawkins, but as David noted Hawkins was playing on an opponent on 1 leg (Chris tarrant I think??). Its the team decision strength across the filed that stood out over the day. The Lewis appointment can only be upside in this for the Dees. And an elite standard-setter and giant footy brain inside the tent.

Well said and you could add how tight the club seems in regards to no leaking and backgrounding . Its up to Goody and the team now but they have been given the platform off season they need to succeed

Cornes Staggered By Dees Decisions
I enjoy listening to cornes passion but he needs a headline weekly for media relevancy. His language and sentence structure is apalling and he states something hasn't worked when its 20% into the plan.

2020 AFL Fixture
Good question. When teams like GC and Brisbane play there its never a sellout. And given the capacity is still only 35K, where are all those fans. It should be full. Expensive seats are sold out, but not GA. The 2019 Kardinia Park attendances were as follows against teams noted below: Melb`27K GWS 28K Eagles 28K Dogs 31K Swans 29K Crows 28K Saints 24K North 21K OFFICIAL capacity: 36,000 Don't get me wrong I love the idea of an old fashioned suburban - type team and Geelong is the last of those so good luck to them. Just pointing out how it works down here and internally the club should be asking whats wrong with our supporters? In terms of local fan participation, these numbers are a disgrace after the huge spend at the grounbd Club survives on having some of the largest return poker machines venues, which are really bad news in Geelong also, however I think

Same here. I live there and refuse to attend kardinia park. Its a deadset elitist club where you need a bank loan to reserve a decent seat. Vast majority of townsfolk can't afford to attend and the grounds development has sucked much needed grant capital funds from more important building upgrades. Its got me stuffed why the locals follow. Having daid that there's been huge influx of new residents. And most are bemused by the parochialism of older locals. They say its a community facilitu also but try booking the facilities.

That's not as stupid as it sounds. The new grandstands could be on that secret govt. Cladding list. Can Demonland please commence preparing an FOI submission along these lines.?

2020 AFL Fixture
I'm very happy with this draw in regards to opponents. Only play 1 top 8 team twice. The pies Play 3 bottom teams twice . Suns saints dockers. The champion data view of 3rd easiest draw is a reasonable call. Basic view i know and many unknowns but face value could be good of team performs that is.

Weĺ put.. Accepted opinion now commonly noted is cats are a great home and away side. But draw favours then get them found out in finals.
-
2020 AFL Fixture
Well summed up but I would add it can be seen as an 8 point game for MFC if they win, given most teams will lose over there. If its a loss just the usual 4 points effect.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Good point but i don't think they are in the frame. Geelong swans or us possibly.
