  1. A good 8 point win for us in some respects as the swans are going to beat plenty others this year. Just not the dees.
  2. Mistake ridden performance.
  3. I suspect you might be right. Keeping up for 7 weeks straight is hard for the inexperienced in this mindset. It will/could show up some weaknesses for fixing now rather than when its too late. The team's not perfect thats for sure. Especially the premiership defenec we had befroe Tomlinson's injury. Or could just be more of the same and 8 - 0 after the game? Importantly the Swans will beat many good teams this year in Sydney so rather lose to them than Blues or Pies.

This is why I'm confident abotu beating the Swans. Last week the Cats won clearly all over the ground and in the stats except on the scoreboard. Ridiculous I know but in the past 61 games since 2000, teams with these stats have won. Swans were lucky with some umpire assistance. The Dees are better.
  5. She gave Dusty and the club heaps a few years ago when he threatened a female diner in Prahran with chopsticks I think it was.
  6. Exactly. Daisy Pearce said this morning On SEN she was just " praying for a 3 - 0 start for once" or at least a start that wasn't behind the 8 ball early. 7 - 0 was beyond her wildest expectetcions. You don't get to 7 to Nil in any comp just because its easy. Most say there's no easy games at AFL standard. Saints and GWS are going to beat pleenty this year. Just not the Dees , being ahead in quality fro once
  7. I felt the same at the time but he showed a bit of courage aftyer 1/2 time. But looking at his metrics, he is a bit taller than tomlinson albeit several Kgs lighter, so maybe he can play that 3 rd tall support to May and Lever if he's up to it? If he is, he's the future for sure.
  8. Who will make way for him? Just asking
  9. That's true about Goodwin, but the foundation was laid by Roos and Jackson for whom we should be forever grateful. Roos got the dollars sure (and he enahncedh is coaching reputation), but the club got what it paid for as well. Self respect, a level of credibility and the bleeding stopped. Without that Goodwin had nothing to build on. A house built on sand will not last. In terms of the present, not being inside the tent we will never know just how much an impact on performance we have seen as a result of the master appointments of Williams and Yze. I suspect nothing changes without their skills, strategic and teambuilding influence on Goodwin. The quick 100% turnaround to the selfless, lowering the eyes style of play tendered as eveidence. The true talent of the list has now been exposed by many. Success has many parenets, failure is an orphan as they say and kudos to Goodwin for keeping it together in 2019/2020.
  10. This year just gets better and better.
  11. Agree with this, and with Petty coming in. Weid gives us a replacement aerialist for Fritsch which is important as it continues the gameplan of either marking , but at least bringing to ground fro Pickett etc. Tmac stays forward
  12. On the Couch last night quoted a stat that out of 66 games played since data commenced being collected, given the stats from the Cats/Swans game, a team has never lost from that position - that is until Saturday and the cats lose. Swans were clearly outplayed everywhere -so lucky is a good descriptor and as they should have lost by heaps. The other amazing stat was that about Adam Tomlinson Of the 21 one-on-one contests he participated in this year so far, he won 20 of them.
  13. The side issue in Robbo's comments on the histroy is that looking at the games in the season collapse he refers to , Robbo did his bit as a very productive forward in those losses and I wonder if he felt others let him down, or maybe he is emphasising that it can't be left to a few - everyone has to stay contributing to the end. A timely contribution by the great man.
  14. Incorrect. Its all to do with each weeks winning margin and its % relationship to the losers (the other teams) score in points.
  15. Our % is 150%. Therefore to keep at the level we need to beat a team by at least 50% of their score. Today we beat roos by 30 points and they scored 73 points , so winning margin was 41% of the roos score, less than 50%, thus the overall % dipped below starting number of 150%. Had we won by 50% of 73, which is approx 37 points then % would have stayed the same.

Correct historically, but maybe your tense is incorrect. We'll see soon. "..people called them that..."?

This is last night's take away.

Only saw last half and the tiges played just like demons last week. Could have been wearing red and blue. Defence set up . Forward pressure. Tigers showed dogs weaknesses and dees should take great confidence we have the personnel and system to take the points in Round 11.

Agreed. A good outcome for him. But given dees forward structure and strategy i think there was no room for him and fritsch. Mitch was a bit hot and cold but fritsch has become a 4 quarter threat and is more vetsatile.

As per other posts, weather is looking Ok on 3 forecast sites including BOM. 20 degrees , slight chance of a shower, cloudy with some sun,, winds 15-20 km/hr in the morning but lightening winds in afternoon.
  21. 20 degree maximum, slight chance of a shower, wind speed in afternoon 11 km/hr. In other words, ideal weather for a full forward,
  22. Insightful and spot on Mr. Steve. Each game so far we learn something, such as ability to accelerate when challenged, improved game plan, players to next level (e.g.Langdon), skills etc. This week we will see in a big test if the juggernaut continues or the team is , as in the past, appearing self-satisfied. So for me Its a tough mental test for all and will go a long way to predicting the year.
  23. At Round 6 Dees have beaten 3 of last years finalists incl the 2 gf teams. Not bad in my book. According to on the vouch tonight the score against dees for inside 50's % is the powrst at Rnd 6 since records on this stat negan. Kudos MayLeverSalemTomlinsonRiversHunt and team supporting defensive efforts.
  24. haters gonna hate Dazzle. Wishing a proud team (with Barassi as its inaugral premiership coach no less) to fold IS disgraceful. Over and out.
  25. This is a disgraceful post. No question. Disrespectful, especially from where the Dees are coming from in the last 10 years. Evidence of how quickly the media(BT and Ch7) jumped on Kossie for pointing at the scoreboard and the need for Goodwin to give some quiet and probably thoughtful advice on skiting behaviour(assumed by me) is a risk to be managed. The marketing team would have been mortified at this instance. The upside of remaining focussed and just playing well without the fanfare for me was the 2018 first semi against the Cats. It was a 95% Dees crowd of the 90K in attendance, and Max said after it felt like a home game at Optus Oval with the crowd on our side. Worth a couple of goals maybe? That's what we need now. Crap posts and attitudes won't deliver it. I trust in Goodwin, Williams, Yze (and even the new President Roffey) et al will see us well in this regard.
