This one by JTR. It had BT out of his tree and energised the team from any self-doubt. And it was fed of a Trac clearance signalling his intent to deliver. Then daylight. But i can think of 4 or 5 you could argue.

There are a number of media types now with seriously damaged analytical reputatiosn, or better known as wise-after-the-event types. One is NOT Matthew Lloyd. He has been usually on us this year and consistent into all finals against others on various panels he's on. The boys on Kayo/Fox have been very good/accurate too - Healy, Brown, Reiwoldt (and Lyon obviously) But those now on the fringe are IMO Ross Lyon, Kane Cornes, David King, Leigh Montagna, Brownless, Brereton, Kane Cornes gave it to Darren Burgess earlier this year claiming he was over-rated as the best fitness guy around and doesn't do anything special (on SEN around Feb/March) Sucked up nicely to him last week though.

Good call on this. This is the key take-out from the season and the GF Rjay. Just how do you stop the Dees now. Sure, shutting down Lever seems obvious, anyone could tip this (even King), but then what happens next? Lever's great, but not THE key. No-one is. Its the team defence 'stupid', as they say, to paraphrase Bill Clinton. That's the key. To your comments I would add how often do we see Neal-Bullen and even Spargo in the last line. Heaps. Same goes for forwards. Up to 1/2 time in the Prelim we had 8 separate goalkickers for the 9 goals. 2022 will be fascinating to watch how other teams now try to address the new standard to defeat the Dees given the huge self-belief the team will now have and their drive to do it again at the 'G'

Welcome and first post sure ignited some interest. I have never undetstood the INXS thing at port games. They are a perth band originally and the lyrics just pander to power's inadequacy and outdated us against them mentality. IMO. Leave it all down to the grand ol flag. And if the trumpeter ever resurfaces, as the great Terry Wallace said once "...I'll spew up..." and take out a restraining order.

4 frees for. 3 of those were for chopping the arms. Keath was out of his depth.

Of all the stats on here, this is one of the best, and thinking about it seems almost impossible. 24 possessions and 5 goals? BT mentioned another short period during tha game that Oliver and Petracca combined stats equalled the whole dogs team.

Quite possibly true Swooper, but nevertheless keep your Friday nights free for the upcoming 2022 season for our numerous prime time slots. Not just because wer'e so good, but its a great style of game to watch with superstars on every line. Advertisers will love us. Strange and unusual feeling. Especially now Kardinia Park and Optus are our fortresses.

The most important 17 minutes in the club's history as BT described it. Watched it twice today. Watch kossie. He tackles weightman and forces turnover to Bowey who kicks to Brayshaw. Then shepherds doggies no.5 to protect Trac when kicking his goal from the pocket. Only multiple viewing helps pick out these little gems.

She had every right to be. Kangas behaviour was less than sympathetic.
-
If she was genuine, rather than seeking a good headline, she would have referred to the breakdwon in the Brown/Kangas relationship due to unreasonable demands made re: brown and Hub life in 2020. He was always leaving. Just to whom , and we got him.

Its fascinating to watch the bidding. I reckon 20K is a bargain still . Oliver is the clear favourite. Not the skipper or Trac. His goal at the end of the 3rd 1/4 is one for the ages and will be his defining vision for the rest of his career. Esp given the brilliant running and protection by Viney and the superb handover from Luke Jackson. Classic team effort brilliantly executed in the end by Oliver. In the old days he might have sprayed it. Not now.

True about his hands but that's what you need generally. Your comment about Weid , if fixed, would make him invaluable. As an opposite you mentioned Weid, but think also of Chris Dawes - flat and hard. Fritsch holds the ball comfortably with one hand so size is helpful too. Fritsch , once his hand are on the ball rarely has it punched away.

Without getting personal, are you Jaded , but now changed name gievn you support the current Premiership team? Just asking.

The club released mugs twice since Sunday and sold out both times. On the Shop site @13.50. Great design and will make more for sure.

Daisy Pearce was embarassing BT and James Brayshaw, with insightful contradictions all game on stratgy. So much so, after half time BT would often ask Daisy what she thought was happening. The best example was 3rd 1/4 when Lever kicked the ball long on Langdon's wing to a footrace beteween Kossie and Tmac, kicking to TMAC. He was much further forward than Kossies\. TMAC lost the contest and Dogs retained the ball. Brayshaw said that was a win for the Dogs. 20 seconds later May marks the rebounding dogs kick due to the backline set up, pointed out then by Daisy how Lever's clever kick gave the Dees defence time to set back up. THAT was embarrassing.

Agreed. But you missed out Kellie Underwood when referring to Eddie. " I just feel the Doggies are ready to go" Huge insight there. Leave the prognostication to the experts.

Fair comment. Absolutely a great player. God-given gifts don't translate in any way to having a good insigth to a club looking in from the outside. Pure speculation by most and good media fodder. His comments and Ross Lyon's 2021 finals forecast will be seen as comedy gold in the future. As an aside I will be amazed for lots of reasons if Ross Lyon is again a senior coach after this year's sagas.

Carlton to get on the 'selfless' bandwagon

But its true anyway. - Just now will be rcognised. -
3 goals in 32 seconds - the quickest 3 goals ever?
Demon17 replied to Lou C. Fur's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maybe. But we know Fritsch holds the record set this year for the fastest 3 goals by an individual player - approx 95 seconds against the Crows. -
188cm (6ft 2) and 84. He's a good size still, but superb leap and in the air, but strong hands also helps. Tricky match up.

By sheer coincidence I found my copy of the Age for Sunday 21 March. The day after the Round 1 Freo win. Its a fascinating read. Iwas using it to light the fire . Two key Headlines. Back page : "Dees 'mature' in defence" Inside main review article; "Dees win but need to be ruthless" The reviews laud May petracca oliver and fritsch. Goodwins key comment was the off season development of team cohesion. Prescient after what happened on saturday and worth a read.

Plus he jumps in the air with excitement when something good happens. Just so engaged as a team player.
