Try again Is there anyone on Demonland more disillusioned than me at present? When you cannot make a game of it against GCS 2013 looks pretty bleak. I think I am one game away from calling it quits.

I really do hope so dc

I see all the new recruits get presented with their "Blazers" on the 23rd March. Wonder if they told them about the Blazers before they signed up?

Too hot Bbo and the single malt is empty. life is full of problems

Not sure that would have made any difference Redleg. Has it every been any different. As always win games and get powerful. easier said than done I know but that is the solution

I hope it is only me but I am having real trouble finding any enthusiasm for AFL Football in total this week. May be the effect of 8 months of the tanking saga, Drug/ crime investigations, MFC poor NAB form and Buddy fiasco today. I doubt I have ever been this disinterested in early March. Normally this the best time of the year for a MFC member. But this year Zero

who that bum that could not get a lick and lucked into two flags at Sydney and Collingwood. Hardly worth mentioning.
-
Gee dc you are getting back a bit and they did not go to VFL clubs and in the case of DW he came back and played in the 64 flag. Hell that seems a long time ago even when I say it.

dc Did you miss I said "the first two"
-
turn coat!

Who could blame them dc. The first two got to play in GF's something they would never had done at the MFC at the time. They were also in the twilight of there career's. They had given the MFC great service.

May have something to do with the fact he is up to now the only really good one that left H_T.

Free agency is a subject we are all new to. I think we have to get used to a lot of players ( particularly at poorer Clubs ) changing teams. I have no doubt both players will give us grief in April. They are both better than average and will want to show they are better than what the MFC thought. Both will also look better in a better team when they are not expected to win games off their own boots. Prepare for the pain on 28th April. But that is the way of the new world.

Must be the hardest place in southern Australia to get to. The quick answer is no. Interesting in today's Hun we won one. Story on Simon Buckley and his poor driving record and they listed him as X Collingwood player

bb I am about to commit suicide by naming them. With a couple of proviso's The gods will fall upon me but here goes. Davis - Has had plenty of time and cannot kick Nicholson - Fast and gets the ball but cannot kick Jetta - has had a lot of injuries but he will need a big 2013 to justify keeping IMO Bail - cannot kick J McDonald - cannot kick Davey - past it I think and contract up at 30+ Fitzpatrick - had a long time on the list and little to show he can make it at AFL level. In danger group Tapscott - have yet to see what he brings besides aggression Sylvia - Probably off under free agency Gawn- needs to prove his body can stand up to AFL football this season. Now I will wait for the wrath of Demonland to descend.

be as critical as you like Bossdog The comment is based on at the end of the 2012 season we had IMO at best 20 players that were AFL standard or of a quality that would allow us to play finals football. We changed 14 for season 2013. There are a couple like Rivers that walk because they wanted out that I am confident we would have kept. That leaves 6 - 8 at min. that IMO need to be moved on at the end of 2013. Lets not kid ourselves the list is still far from wonderful
-
I don't believe in curses, bad luck etc Redleg But gee do we every get a good break. It just shows how important it is to have good depth in your list. Another 7-8 need to be changed again at the end of 2013
-
RtG As I see it at least half the list at the end of 2012 was below AFL standard or at the least unable to get us into finals football. You only have to look at the results over 2011 -12. We replaced 14 at the end of 2012 and I think there is at min. another 8 to go. Nothing I saw in the team that played Richmond on Friday night suggested there are not still plenty below the required standard. This year when all are fit I would say we have an improved best 22 but after they we still fall away badly. IMO to be a side capable of playing finals football you need 30 - 32 players of good quality IMO we are still way short of that mark.

Only my opinion RtG I just say it as I see it. The result show I think I am close to the money.
