  1. There has been the odd year of hope in there bd But sadly it is getting close to 10 years since the last one.
  2. As you have probably noticed it is a while since I have drunk beer in Perth. It was Emu Export I was thinking of. I was first in Perth in Jan 1971 with 4 mates we helped the sales of Emu Export along quite a bit on that trip. those were the days
  3. The RR he was referring to was Rhino mate. So you are not to blame.
  4. Drink plenty of Emu Draught ( can you still get it? ) It will help the numbing process. Got to say you have more courage then me outnumbered 1000 to 1 and will never be in the hunt. Watch Howe he will give you value for money, after him I am struggling.
  5. And probably kicked it to a crows player 6 times. He is a good tagger and will play a useful role for the next few years Unfortunately that is it IMO
  6. Nothing would be better than that. My reality check came in round 1
  7. On this one we are in total agreement Dr.
  8. Not sure how you deduce that from my comments monoccular. I was agreeing that the hounds would be out for blood if there was no improvement. I don't believe I have said one negative word about Neeld. I have said on numerous occasions that we have a poor list and it is going to take a long time to change that problem. I have critised numerous players and others at the MFC but Neeld has been there for such a short time who would know. I have said on a number of occasions that I have no idea if Neeld is a good coach or not. In fact I have also said I don't believe that 99% of the people on Demonland have any idea either. So please don't label me as being a hound looking for neeld's blood it is not true.
  9. BB please read a few of my previous comments on CS. I am not suggesting we do not give him the job because some media people hate him. I am making a statement of fact ( based on my contacts ) I said earlier the one down side is we will continue the be the precipitant of Media scorn. And the best way to shut them up is to win games. Fairly simple solution. However the Dees make hard work of the solution.
  10. I agree with you WJ however I must add that my view is from the outer. I have no real idea if he is good , bad or indifferent. What I do know is that compared to the two previous incumbents he looks to be a rocket scientist. The Board should and have given the job to the person they see as the best person. He does have one draw back and that is he is not liked by the media. That is of course is not a reason to preclude him for the job.
  11. No Dr there are more than CW believe me. I have a media contact that informs me he is the most disliked GM in the AFL.
  12. I cannot wait for the day. With the cup in there hand I will be happy with whatever they say.
  13. Sorry to disagree BB but with this list we are at the bottom just take a look at the score board and the ladder. The test of a list is how many on it would be required by the top four teams? I come up with 5 -6 so we are about 20 players short. Where we start from in a weeks time suggests that Playing and winning GF's is a decade away IMO Respectability is the best we can hope for in the next few years.
  14. At last someone gets it Congratulations Bush demon you are right on the money. Respectability is the best we can hope for over the next 5 years IMO.
  15. Oh come on Akum. Davey , Green and Moloney are in the twilight of their careers, Bennell has always been ordinary and Mckenzie has always been a lousy kick, From where I sit Neeld has nothing to do with any of that. The list is just poor, JC would have trouble with this group.
  16. Dee-luded I live for the day we do as badly as under Daniher. He got us into a GF We are so far from that at present. 20% of the membership will be dead before that happens again IMO. I get a little tired of the constant demeaning of Daniher He achieved something that has only happen twice in 48 years.
  17. I said the same above cfh. From the outside who knows. He has made a few errors( who doesn't ) but seems to have recovered quite well. The current board and CS are now locked together. Everything or nothing for both of them.
  18. Me too Collingwood may have as well, might be $500 000 x 2 years now.
  19. Yes RR there had better be some improvement by July 2013 or the hounds will be baying for blood.
  20. I simply don't know BB On this one I have to defer to the board. In two years time they will either look like a bunch of rocket scientists or dip sticks. But that will not be the responsibility of CS alone. The die is cast in a number of area's and we have no choice to run with it. It is always thus with the MFC but interesting times lie ahead.
  21. Hardnut I am sure there are some on here bemoaning his ability and performance this year. However to answer your comment. I think that over the long term NN will be the better player but I believe it never would have worked at Melbourne. So we probably took the better option as we will have a useful player versus one that went home.
  22. I think the AGE already has cfh. The difference is there's are probably never going to start again
  23. stuie I think you under estimate Nik Nat's performances this year. The saying goes that players reputations are built on playing in finals. At their current rates NN will have played a considerable number of finals and potentially a GF before Watts gets a look in. Like it or not I believe NN will always be regarded as a better player than Watts. By 2016 NN will have been a very good player in a very good team for 4 years Watts will be a good backman in a ordinary team with almost no finals experience.
