  1. As long as we keep on winning it looks like we will carry him. Does good competitive things but can’t kick goals outside his comfort zone of -30 metres out directly in front. Clear that problem up and making most of his limited opportunities he could be a regular 40+ goal kicker a season.
  2. I reckon a fine. Surprised how big and strong he looks. The making of a future beast. He ain’t no wee tweety bird.
  3. Shame two Friday night blockbusters in a row played under virus restrictions. But I will be satisfied with another win. That’s all that counts.
  4. I understand her form at Carlton was poor this season and she wanted $150,000 a season to continue. Maybe good for marketing but she has to deliver on the field.
  5. Well it was good response by our captain after his poor effort against the Crows. Well deserved.
  6. I heard this; They Chopin-ed us to pieces on the Turandot’s and Beethoven-ed the La Mer-de out of us. Enough to make me Puccini all over the floor. Nessun Dorma tonight.
  7. New Demonland whipping boy. I can expect this thread revived after every average game he plays.
  8. Stats don’t lie. He is the leading goal kicking medium forward so far this season. All those above him are key forwards with small forward McDonald-Tipungwudi above him.
  9. Just like Luke Bruest. Not many rated him highly and still don’t even after 400 goals. Medium size forwards are always underrated. He will never be a power forward. He did kick 6 when north were all over us though for much of the game. He is a clever strong mark and gets himself into the weak spots of defences.
  10. Took me a while but I learned the best way to abuse trolls is with silence.
  11. Now he is given no space and closely checked. Get manhandled a lot. Missed getting frees last week as well as last night in goal kicking range. The opposition respects him. When he breaks free he’s still dynamite.
  12. We have beaten all the current top ten sides we have played. That 6-0.
  13. He still played on after this and was on the wing at the next centre bounce. Could have been delayed reaction. And he looked flat after that in his movements and went off after the Bruce goal. Brayshaw took his wing. Involved in one play down back where nothing much happened before that.
  14. Great result. Reminded me of the Geelong game where we basically made them pick their way through a mine field and choked their high powered forward line. We were so clinically efficient that it looked somewhat boring. No bells and whistles but fantastic team synergy. Really hard to pick the best players. Good to see Spargo get more of the ball, something good nearly always happens.
  15. Prefer to see the lions win. Wounded animals are more dangerous.
  16. Their form against top 8 sides mirrors ours and we did beat Richmond. The big difference is that they usually put poor sides to the sword and smash them. When the prey is weak they have more blood lust. They have also rebounded quickly after poor games by their standards. Now is the opportunity to see if we can do the same.
  17. Weids last chance. Lucky for him BBB put in a stinker at Casey. Last week 9 touches and 1 goal matching career averages of 9 touches and 1 goal a game just aren’t good enough. Gotta rev up.
  18. Like steak only cooked on one side and chips without salt washed down with flat beer, no thanks.
  19. The AFL should make it the best of 20, 21,22 or results for ladder position. So if a team plays all 23 rounds, 22 or 21 it s doesn’t matter. If one game gets cancelled then all other clubs can cancel their worst result to balance it out.
  20. A forced reset might be OK. We have been playing with some listlessness for the past month.
  21. I don’t care if we play to an empty stadium. I hope the quarantine disrupts their preparations. Bring it on.
  22. Seriously I am more mad at Max not being more proactive in the 3 ruck contests after that extremely poor umpiring decision. Poor umpiring decisions happen every game and change the ebb and flow dynamics as with every player mistake. The game is fluid. He had time and a chance to try and do something positive to right things but he didn’t.
  23. Christian, Clayton as well as Max, the best ingredients but the recipe needs tweaking. Like baking a cake, the right proportions of each ingredient, mixing and baking to get the chemical reaction right so as to provide the correct rise and give it the right flavour and texture.
  24. Here is the write up in The Age with this extraordinary comment though the AFL accepting the umpire made an error. “The AFL’s review of the Adelaide v Melbourne game received a positive appraisal, with the league’s view that the game was overall well umpired”. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-should-have-had-out-of-bounds-free-kick-afl-20210524-p57uqq.html
  25. This one is the most blatant of the three match changing non decisions this season with zero ambiguity to argue. That umpire needs to be demoted for the rest of the season.
