Clubs won’t sub out a champion for a minor injury if it would for certain keep them out of next weeks big game. The champ will keep the interchange bench warm for the remainder of the game.
-
I would prefer if the subbed out player is made to sit out of the game for 12 days irrespective of the injury. There has be a price to be paid for using the concussion sub rule for other purposes.

On the rare occasions when he played up the ground or forward, he got a lot of ball, was very mobile and clean and smart with his disposal. More or less what we saw last night. However the brains trust preferred him to be a prop for opposition forwards to practice their marking on.
-
This is what I said about him a couple of weeks ago. We should have played him CHF after his brother got injured and lost form. Poorly managed by the club as with many other players.
-
Some who have been around longer felt your pain for about 45 of the past 56 years.

They are just working up to it. Anger management takes time.
-
Well if they as angry as the supporters then the 2021 premiership is ours. I hope there no longer is a disconnect. Gawn: Anger driving Dees after finals near miss

Melbourne midfielders have to park egos
John Crow Batty replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have been saying for years the midfield play selfish and not too smart. I can’t recall the last time one of our vaunted midfielders gave a tap or knock on to advantage or put in a shepherd to assist someone else getting a clearance. It’s like they all want the clearance and statistic recorded on their stat sheet. If stats were given for non possession “catalyst” plays that start a chain that leads to scores it might be different. I hope things change this season. -
Amazing that we have gotten this far into the thread and no mention of the two over exposed, over hyped and underachieving poster boy captains of a decade ago. Cursed by the dreaded MFC bung foot syndrome, Schwabitis and Neeldenza. I don’t blame anyone for forgetting the two Jacks. Anyone know what they are up to?
-
No, it was the “MC” who rocked the house.
-
After the shameful way he was treated, I doubt Stef would ever want to return.
-
At CHF we may see more of his mobility and versatility which wasn’t so much apparent as the opposition generally kicked the ball long to his opponent and he had to stick to his man.

I knew this was coming. No more live games streamed on the AFL app. Only good for replays live scores and stats now. I’m not buying into that dog Murdoch’s Kayo. It can go to buggery. Next for the chop is FTA. https://www.afl.com.au/live-pass-changes

Watts, Scully, Trengove, Morton and Toumpas. Hundreds of threads, thousands of post and millions of words wasted on them. Like the powerful dreadnought battleships built, served and scrapped without never firing a shot in anger.
-
I will wait until the app is up and running. I still am annoyed at the “new improved” AFL app from a couple of years ago when suddenly the size of the viewing screen was reduced to phone size on tablets.
-
I am not sure this Kayo app can be watched on full screenTV’s. May be only for mobile devices.

The AFL App on Telstra will be integrated with Rupert Murdoch’s Kayo sports app and AFL App users on Telstra will now pay for the Kayo app. This means all other sports now on Kayo including NRL will be included. Some will be happy and others including me will not welcome the bloatware of sports I’m not interested in and having to pay for it. Telstra customers will only pay $5 a month at least for the first year. Then likely they will like be slugged up to the full $25 a month for the Kayo App. It is unclear how this affects AFL App users on other carriers. https://www.theage.com.au/business/companies/telstra-to-quit-nrl-afl-streaming-apps-in-sports-strategy-shift-20210202-p56ysc.html

Who will replace him as super villain now? Bugger all left in the game to vent at. Tom Lynch, Toby Green and Jeremy Cameron flying the flag. Ben Brown has been rehabilitated now that he with us.

James Frawley Retires... And Starts Playing Again
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Came to us for an AFL career, went to the Hawks for a flag then went to St Kilda for his superannuation fund. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
John Crow Batty replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ben Brown has better career contested mark averages than Josh Kennedy, Jeremy Cameron and equal to Jack Darling. He is in the elite group of contested mark takers in the game and has a 67% goal scoring accuracy for shots on target. In the top handful goals per game scored. Cant get better than that in the modern game. -
Kamala Harris would have been a great get. She’s another yank like Peggy. Shame she is currently unavailable. Kim Kardashian might be worth a punt as her realityTV show is closing down soon.
-
The apology did have a modicum of sincerity and the contrite players propelled us up the ladder to vertigo inducing 8th position in 1982 and 1983. However by 1985 we were back to our mediocre worst and bottom feeding again until Northey came along.

If true that Treloer wants to spend several day every week up in Q to be with his missus then I question his commitment. Not what we need and dumb to take him on his terms.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
John Crow Batty replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
We won on average a flag every 9 years since the start of WW2. -
Good to hear. If only now his field kicking becomes as good as his goal kicking and get more of the ball.
