  1. Injecting I agree with you on... but are you telling me that you never indulge in a beer or a glass of wine or spirits?
  2. Yes, it's like alchoholism... how many of us enjoy a drink and how many of us choose to become an alchoholic? As I understand it, some are more prone to addiction than others as much through a biological disposition as through a lack of willpower.
  3. So, you're a drummer? ;-)
  4. I understand what you are saying OD, but by the same token, I don't think much is to be gained by putting the boot into a person when they are down and almost out.
  5. Speed has that affect, yes... but as they say, once an addict, always an addict... the hard part is staying clean regardless of what your celebrity status may be. But I do have a problem with the sell/supply part if proven true.
  6. No we are not surprised, but he is definitely not "dumb", but rather messed up as are most people with drug related issues. A little compassion wouldn't go astray (although if the sell and supply charges stick, I might reassess that).
  7. Benny has been arrested and charged with intent to sell and supply. http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/ben-cousins-arrested-over-drug-possession-in-esperance-20120328-1vyfb.html
  8. Confirmed... http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/130953/default.aspx
  9. And a couple more... One of my favourite Japanese bands The Blue Hearts and a song called "Linda Linda" (there is a rather good Japanese movie of the same name based around this song - about an all girl band in a high school talent show performing the same song). On a side note, a band I was in used to confuse pub patrons when we played this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUab1kM2Rmc And my favourite Radiohead song "Karma Police":
  10. A couple from me: Brian Setzer Orchestra (former Stray Cats foray into big band rockabilly - and these guys seriously rock! - imho of course): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncrILTdBywo The Fratellis "Henrietta" of their Costello Music CD... a fun band who, for some reason, remind me a little of Blur"
  11. It was nothing too special, but happy to share:
  12. Yes, I'm feeling rather flat at the moment, but I am looking forward to tomorrow's game so I can take some of the focus off the events of the past 24 hours or so. Today was a bad day for the clowns at GWS to send me an email asking if I was interested in becoming a member... usually I would have ignored it, but not today... today I was more than happy to provide them with a response
  13. A few suggestions from an avid collector of film on DVD and BluRay: Arrietty (think it gets a run at the cinemas here soon, if not already - I have the BluRay from Japan) - a take on Mary Norton's book "The Borrowers", from Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli - wonderful/beautiful animation - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrietty In fact, I would recommend almost anything from this studio as they cater for adults (Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away) and children (Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbour Totoro being highlights), and are rarely short of superb. Older films I would recommend are most Kurosawa (Seven Samurai, Ran, Throne of Blood, Hidden Fortress, High and Low etc) Most Jim Jarmusch - Mystery Train, Down By Law, Ghost Dog, Dead Man etc A few Chinese films such as Aftershock, A World Without Thieves, Raise the Red Lantern, Not One Less, The Road Home, Shower Australian films such as The Last Wave, Lantana, Red Dog, Chopper French films such as Diva, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen, Amelie, Mic Macs, Wages of Fear Will add more later.
  14. Ronny Jordan meets DJ Krush (brilliant Japanese turntablizer) - "Love, I Never Had it So Good":
  15. Here are a couple I quite like... firstly an Anglo/Japanese collaboration known as United Future Organization "I Love My Baby, My Baby Loves Jazz": King Crimson Jazz Trio with "21st Century Schizoid Man" (as, if you know the original, you have never heard it before):
  16. Yes, and while we're at it, let's also do away with the ceremonial aspect associated with the handing on of historically significant numbers such as 11, 31 etc; oh, and let's move to have the Norm Smith medal renamed to something more contemporary. And while we're at it, let's change the club song - it's too old and no longer relevant (actually, truth be known, I would be happy for us to replace the original with the David Bridie version )
  17. I don't mind it... could give the players more of a sense of "belonging" to a club and its traditions.
  18. Add Kalifornia to that list. Pitt is one of those actors who was at a disadvantage for having good looks - people tended to focus on that aspect and overlook his undoubted talent as an actor who, like Depp, is willing to put himself out on a limb by taking difficult roles in non-mainstream films.
  19. Maybe we have found our Chinese sponsor for the front of jumper?
  20. Do it on the Queens Birthday weekend and I would be happy to turn up... I used to live not too far away from there in Field Street (just off Alma Rd near the corner of Glenhuntly Rd).
  21. The lyrics to "Young Girl" raised a bit of a ruckus if my memory serves - from Wikipedia: "Controversial at the time and later for its risque lyrical references to underage romance. Allmusic labeled the groups lyrics "bizarrely pedophilic."
  22. and controversial... maybe that's why he disappeared?
  23. The only arrival I would like to see at McD's would be that of Whelan the wrecker :-)
  24. In fact there's a whole cluster of clutterbucks in there... birdy num num
  25. I'm not sure about a bigger table, but I imagine they will get a taller table; if there is any business to be conducted during the evening, they will no doubt want to have enough headroom.
