  1. As my late mother used to tell me, we all too often see our own faults in others.
  2. Rivers will be a star at Geelong... of that I am certain.
  3. So, I know the body's not cold yet, but does this mean Pedersen will now be coming via a compo pick?
  4. It's almost like a Mexican stand-off... I imagine clubs are loathe to take on any FA's now as in some cases it may affect their compensation picks which they intend to use during the remainder of the trade period. You're right... it will definitely be and interesting 29.5 hours.
  5. My comments were based on the Hun article at: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/collingwood-to-turn-its-attention-to-the-afl-draft/story-fnbk754t-1226497596040 "COLLINGWOOD has all but ruled out luring Hawthorn running machine Clinton Young. Young, 26, was linked with the Magpies as well as Brisbane and Port Adelaide. But Magpies football director Geoff Walsh said the club would turn its attention to the AFL Draft after securing a third pick inside the top 20 last night."
  6. Yes, I saw something yesterday in the press that mentioned the Pies have stated that Young is no longer in their sights due to other dealings that have gone on. Will be interesting to see if we go after him; particularly if Ray decides to stay put at the Saints.
  7. According to the latest AFL tweet, we are still keen on Pedersen and Gumbleton (although unlikely we will have a place for both). http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149841/default.aspx
  8. The AFL just tweeted that "Clinton Young looks unlikely to move to Collingwood after Geoff Walsh says the Pies are "done and dusted", so is there even a slim chance we may still try to effect some sort of a trade?
  9. And we might yet see Ray and Pedersen added to that list before the trade period is out... and who knows who we might pick up in the PSD.
  10. It's probably not worth responding to such posters as it's really all about attention seeking.
  11. We will now have a forward line that is going to finally create a headache for a lot of oppositions in much the same way that Buddy and Roughy were doing at Hawthorn. If things had gone differently, we might have had Jurrah and Clark (which we would have been happy with), but with that forward line we could never be sure to have them both on the park and Jurrah's brilliance only revealed itself occasionally. If Pedersen comes in as well, how will oppositions manage to contain a line-up comprising the Towers of Power plus Byrnes, Howe, Sylvia and Blease?
  12. Hey! I like children, but NOT in that way! ;-)
  13. I actually got mine from the Australian Concise Oxford... is that not English either? You may also like to try this link, where funnily enough, if you enter mis-spell in the search word or phrase field, it takes you to "misspell": http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/misspell
  14. GCS have stated that they are no longer interested in Tippett, so that would just leave GWS...and if they took him, then that is one more top draft pick that becomes an option for us...we can't lose whatever happens.
  15. Curses! Now my secret identity has been revealed!
  16. Yes... but that is to distinguish two completely different words/meanings... the only reason you might need to hyphenate misspelling is if you are making a reference to Tori Spelling (and even then, the spelling would be wrong) ;-)
  17. Hate to say this, but you spelt "misspelling" incorrectly ;-)
  18. I saw them live at London's Roundhouse in Chalk Farm at their peak in 1974/75... and to my mind they were pretty much as described in their name...average.
  19. Careful with what you say... on these forums that is likely to be construed as meaning Mitch has gone completely off the rails and is now skipping training sessions.
  20. Not to mention, the Moloney compo pick is cancelled out by the acquisition of Byrnes...will only have a compo pick if the Cats take Rivers, I would think.
  21. Exactly...was given very few opportunities at AFL level, despite the fact he was ripping it up in he VFL; and at the top level it is best to get a few games to build momentum and confidence...very hard to come in cold and be a star performer. Was runner up in he overall VFL awards and took out the Casey award...not too shabby at all. May have been brought in as a stop gap measure, but has ended up probably having a better year than Magner who tailed off pretty badly after a great start to the year.
  22. That's right, pick up one very short piece of footage of one single incident and go to town on him. Does the old saying "we often see our own faults in others" register with you?
  23. Let's hope it's not a Leyland P76 ;-)
