  1. Havent we thrashed this topic over and over again. Please give it a rest. Mods, close it.
  2. Yes, he certainly did. I would have loved to have seen his face when the final siren went.
  3. The look on the Demon supporter's face caught on TV was exact]y how we all felt after the Petracca goal. Can we do it? We certainly did! Oh memories.
  4. Almost every morning I look at the Pennant and premiership photo on my study wall and start singing the old song , " They can't take that away from me. No,no they can't take that away from me"" I must have watched that third quarter at least fifty times. When you are in your eighties it has a special meaning after wondering if 1964 would be the last one I would ever see. Had a few dreams that we had won a premiership this century only to wake up to reality. Wonderful emotions after this latest one and I went to bed that night a happy and supremely contented man.
  5. Why the BB FFC on the back of Lions Jumper then? And SMFC on the back of Sydney's jumper? Not to mention the same colours and nicknames. The connection lives on.
  6. Well it really is just that. Just a change of location. I know a lot of old Fitzroy supporters who have continued to support the Lions ever since they went to Brisbane.Just think, if Melbourne went interstate would you stop barracking for them? I certainly wouldn't.

Nicely put WJ, the much valued wordsmith of our forum. I knew Ian McLean was small but 10 stone 6 lbs and a champion wingman, that's amazing. Can't think of any present day player who would weigh anywhere near that. Also knew the late Ralph Lane as he was in the Frankston Athletics club with me. As a kid, I watched him have the big job of playing on the great John Coleman from the Hastings Football club. Nice bloke

I had the pleasure of meeting Ken at the Perth Demons support group. We were of a similar age and having watched him play at the G with Barassi, Spencer Cordner Williams etc etc we had plenty to talk about. I might be living in WA now but I will always be VICTORIAN through and through. He was such a pleasant man and it was my honour to have known him. Vale Ken.
  9. Winning the first 10 games in 2022 meant that at that stage we hadn't lost our edge. Maybe then we began to think that winning was too easy and became far too confident in our approach. Lets get it back in 25.
  10. We did well against both of these teams despite our injury concerns this season. Could have and should have won both games. We will be back in 25. Go Dees!
  11. When has Cameron featured in the coaches votes compared to Clarry. ? He is good no doubt but why is this turning into a contest between him and Clarry? Both are such valuable players.
  12. Good summing up. Missed Oliver.
  13. I have always had trouble splitting my admiration for Christian or Clarry as footballers. Christian is a big occasion player while Clarry, until this season, was so remarkably able to play week in and week out at incredible high standards. Both are champions and if we can get them back to their very best with our evolving youngsters could put us back in the premiership frame. Lets hope so.
  14. Great to hear from you OD from one really old dee to another. Your points are so valid and I reckon most of this forum would agree with the issues that you have mentioned. So sad that there is so much corruption the AFL at the moment. Hope it can be wiped out. Cheers, mate.

Just think, if we had chosen Nic Nat instead of Jack Watts we would most likely have lost Max and watched in envy at this superstar player and person as he dominated at another club. Well done CHAMPION!!!! Love you mate.
  16. He will be available for the 2025 Grand Final and will kick 8 goals to give us another flag against Collingwood!!!!!
  17. Doggies, but I think Sydney will be tough to beat.
  18. No Barassi? The author has absolutely no idea. I loved watching little Ian Ridley (tiddles) but he was not in same street as Barassi, Smith, Flower,Petracca etc etc. Dusty not on Richmond list???????
  19. Stevic umpired very well in our GF win. No sign of dislike for the Demons there.
  20. Joe, I wouldn't try to upstage the oracle. QED to me is not the Latin "Quod erat Demonstrated" but, QUITE ENOUGH DONE. Enjoy the rest of the week end. ,
  21. Maybe you should watch the replay before your comments then.Often presents quite a different picture from the actual game live. Things the camera don't miss. QED
  22. Fair enough but I will stick to my opinion. That's what it's all about isn't i? I fully respect yours. Cheers.
  23. They did but I would sooner have the flag.
  24. Knee jerk reactionJoe, seems to lose the plot when we lose badly.Just 3 players passed his high standards.
  25. Thanks WCW. You really are a gem!
