WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Clickbait. The story about Bennell is almost a week old. It talks about Friday’s practice match v North Melbourne in the future tense. The original story wasn’t exactly what you would describe as “Bad News For Bennell” but rather, as bad news for those who want to rush a player when he’s not ready. That’s something completely different.

JUST AN ABERRATION by Whispering Jack
As late as 4.40pm yesterday, some Saints fans were trying to tell me that they didn’t regret the fact that their recruiters picked Patrick McCartin as the number one ahead of Tracc. They even had a thread going on Saintsational about it. Here’s a quote from poster “Linton Lodger”:- “No thanks. Fat and overrated”. Another from “Saynta”:- “In a word. NO”. ?

Rating Our 2019 Draft
Buckenara is certainly entitled to his views. He was a champion footballer, played in premiership teams and has experience in the recruitment industry. However, if he’s going to make statements about where he ranked a player then he needs to also demonstrate that he has a record of accuracy with previous draft predictions. In fact, he doesn’t and it’s worse than the average pundit (not that we can expect perfection in this game).

Nick Robertson
Nick Robertson is 24, 190cm, is quick, has good disposal and is a handy tagger who was surprisingly delisted by Brisbane. If we can nab him, we would have a free hit at him as a Delisted Free Agent.

AFLX Revamped
Have you seen the format? Some people are concerned that it will further degrade the game but by me - it’s already a bust and I doubt it will attract an overseas audience or last very long.

AFLX Revamped
Relax everyone. The AFLX is for the kiddies. If you’re over 18 years of age, look away.

THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2018
You can’t underestimate the point about wantaway players not being a health hazard to the organization. The players themselves might be professionals and give their all on the field but the atmosphere always gets strained as soon as they or the team has a bad day and the media gets on the case with their speculation. We traded out one player who had no contract and two with one year left and now have three players well and truly tied to the club plus AVB is on a three year contract. We did well.

2018 Player Reviews: # 42 Josh Wagner
Agreed that he needs to pick up his game in 2019. In view of the exodus of many others who were regulars at Casey during the season, he will come in handy for depth and possibly might also be joined by his brother who IMO was a little more impressive.
