  1. Hogan was not at his best but creates a presence in the forward line that results in its overall efficiency. The opposition cant ignore him and even down on form he poses a threat. Sending him to Casey is not the way to build his confidence and form.

So happy to see Trenners get picked. I know I should just care about the team winning but i just really feel like he is a servant of the club and deserves a chance to prove he can still make out at the highest level.

I'm betting he is going to have a special game. Come on Dees!

Have to agree with the sentiment, I'd love to see him smash it.

It would be good to know why all grounds are different sizes?

An interesting historical question which have more to do with cricket or just a lack of co-ordination when the grounds were first built. Perhaps the best question is why wasn't Etihad built to the same size as the MCG?

Essendon caught out Sydney with speed forward of the ball and out the back, so why not Hunt as a forward

I was at the game and it was their speed from half back that killed the swans but bear in mind once you turn inboard at the SCG  its a short distance to the goal. In fact they did what the swans used to do. I would keep Hunt back rather than forward.

  5. The path to the finals will have a lot to do with the draw given how close the competition is, Swans have a relatively favourable draw along with Bombers. We on the other hand have a harder draw. Lid can only come off if we win the next few which in this season must be a significant if....

that said the last few weeks have changed what it is like to be a dees supporter and I really believe we are in the hunt this Friday.

  6. Time for a couple of fringe players to step up.

Wagner will probably get a run with JKH as well.

I went to the Swans game Friday night and they looked slow compared to the Bombers. I'm not sure why possibly the way they moved the ball. In any event I think the key to Friday will be keeping up our pressure and speed which is why Garlett is a big loss. I'd be looking for those two attributes from the two's ahead of mere possessions.

  7. Was at the game with a mate. Umpires were terrible. Swans didn't respond well to pressure which Essendon applied which means we are in with a big chance against them if we bring our pressure game.  I must say I enjoyed the last two minutes it was ninthmondesq. Goddard was poor and Jobe can't kick longer than 40.

I reckon we might see more time than people think with Gawn forward. He takes great clunkers... and we know Goody's worried about 6 day breaks. If he spends 50% game time forward and we go back to sharking opposition ruckmen... might be a good thing.

Agree with this we can expect TMac in the ruck and Pedo up forward as well possibly all 3 rotating

    I don't bet but ......

Seriously (they get a loading for the home ground advantage and for a good win over the cats)  .....?

I've just finished watching the replay of yesterdays cracking win, and I don't know if its just me or what, but listening to the commentators on Fox sports, we had amongst them in particular Huddo, he is so biased against us.

He seemed to spend much of his commentary umpiring the game and calling out his perceived infractions committed by us and hardly, if at all, by the Dogs! What a little sycophant. Now I know I am one-eyed, but he is just so blatantly obvious in what should be non partisan situation. I think Dwayne Russell has those leanings also. But Hudson, he has that face I'd just like to punch!

Oh well perhaps I'm just a bit too sensitive for my own good . Go Dees

Its not just you and he has form. It spoils the commentary and was distracting. We did get the rub of the green but that is often the case with the team that is playing better.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned (can't read pages and pages on this topic) but 3 wins at the Docklands Mausoleum this year puts the old bogey to bed I think!

I think we can put most bogeys to bed now. Goody is dismissive of them. We are a new team and will beat our foes on any given day anywhere.

  12. Lewis, Vince and Jones are at the end of proceedings so we need to have an eye on replacing them with a quality mid and possibly similar mature aged recruits. Our forward line is very make shift when we have injuries. We need a Garlett type replacement in the next few years and another KPF. Weed will develop but we need some depth.

Our first stop is a quality mid.
