As an update to my previous post, I am yet to get a name but apparently this quality midfielder has given a verbal desire to join us. Name apparently isn't circulating at all in the media yet.

Explains the watts situation and why we cant trade next years first.

  2. I found it hard to understand the public statements thus far but now its clear, it was the last gasp. Goodwin has made his expectations clear, left the door open. Watts has thought about it and wants to stay which means he knows what is expected.

I for one would like to see him realise his potential after all this time (part of which the club can bear some responsibility for) and it wouldn't surprise me if he has spoken to Roos (or some other confidante)  who told him changing clubs is not the answer either way he has to change his desire to be the best.

Frankly I think he is worth more to the club than a 30 pick but only if he is meeting our expectations.

What do we get from a trade to Port?  And why do we need to trade Hogan to get Lever? The latter is very strange to me, first we wouldn't put him on the table and if we did it would have to involve more than just Lever. Indeed trading both Watts and Hogan leaves our forward line very bare, make no sense to me.

The two Scott brothers: the most overrated senior coaches in the league, by the length of the Flemington straight.

One brother has successfully driven North Melbourne into the ground with nothing to show for it, the other was gifted a premiership by Mark Thompson and has failed to capitalise since.

I have to agree with that opinion. I really didn't get why North signed him up again.

.I also think Jeffy's output would improve greatly with Jack back in the team..

Perceptive. (Lets not forget Jeffy has had a death in the family and had to go back a couple of times which is bound to take a toll.)

Once again I am perplexed as to why Goodwin tells the next opponent in advance who will definitely be in the team.  I have no idea what attributes Maynard has that might make an opposition coach think about him for more than a microsecond, but I bet they do.  It also gives them an idea of who we might omit, again helping their planning.

Why give them that advantage even if it is minor?  What advantage does it give us?  Or do footy clubs leak so badly that everyone who matters will know anyway?

I dont know but it seems that the teams are known by the industry generally on a Thursday and the AFL machine likes its news to include this sort of stuff. I suspect the teams are put in to AFL on Thursday morning or late Wednesday and possibly shared confidentially. Does anyone know if this happens?

Drop Watts until he decides to try again

He is playing like he is in a stupor

Moves like he is running in treacle and is showing zero aggression at the contest

He currently appears to me to be a liability

At least it wasn't in all caps.

When Watts had some ruck duties he was at his best, i think he responds to a challenge. In any event he is no top of the drops for mine. Trenners and Hannan out. Jones, Vince and Weid in. I think against the GWS the weid is a chance to play well. I dont think you counter GWS's speed and switch by just speed alone you have to cut off the switch. Last week we were out-coached (TMAC had to be dropped back when they had the wind) and Goody will learn from that.

    Are you serious

    1. We haven't beaten North since 2006.

    2. They have a good record down in Hobart

    3. We need to keep winning to even play finals.

    4. Every game is an 8 point game from now on.

    So NO WAY!!!!!!!!!

Have to agree with this, the ladder is a log jam between 10 and 4. We simply have to put the best team on the par each week.

  9. Great! I really like Jack as a person and club man and desperately want him to succeed given his absolutely rotten luck with injuries. Anyway my hope is he takes the handful of games left this year to remake his career  and doesn't leave himself and us wondering.
