Great pics. Pedersen really isn't that tall is he? Spencil looked to be accounting for him pretty comfortably.

Thanks again for these. Invaluable stuff to us interstaters. Haven't seen much mention of Strauss. How's he looking? I still hold some hope of him slotting into the Suckling role off HB.

If you ever get the chance, have a read of Bob Jones' biography, "Let the Good Times Roll". Tells of his time looking after all the big acts like the Stones, Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Joe Cocker. Definitely enjoys puffing out his chest but man does that guy have some stories..if you're into the whole drugs, sex & rock n roll...and brutal violence.

What a truly bizarre thread this turned out to be.. -

I must've missed the part where ADC contributed to the discussion. -

You seem pretty close-minded for someone who doesn't speak English. -

Wtf? Sort of going off-topic here with the good old fashioned religious bigotry.. -

Brock McLean article - "Tackling footy's silence on gays"
P-man replied to pitchfork's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd love to live in a society where "gay awareness" wasn't required. Where pride marches weren't considered necessary, let alone rounds in the AFL with players wearing rainbow socks. One of my best mates is gay and it's a non-issue. Both he and we make the odd joke about it, as we do all other aspects of our life. It's about true acceptance. Unfortunately as it stands, there is still a main cause for which homosexuals are fighting, namely the legalisation of same-sex marriage. And in football circles, it remains an area where a fair amount of progress remains to be made. So until we reach true acceptance, I have no issue with Brock's comments. Good on him for speaking up when many others would not. But yeah, still a [censored]. -
haha..really? Clean nose Mitsubishi? I thought he was our poster boy for healthy living. Not having a go, but he's certainly not on the list of names I'd expect to be getting into a [censored] bust up.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him end up at Richmond. I doubt Phil's grand plan involves him spending the rest of his career in Western Sydney. Take the money and run.

Pretty disheartening to think he's in for another tough year considering the undoubted disappointment of his 2012. Fortunately with the injection of the likes of Viney, Toumpas and M Jones and their ability to clear the ball, there will be less of a hole that he is leaving. The defensive side to his game with which he compensated last season may prove even more important this year, but how I'd love too see him get another yard or so of pace back. It really was like watching slow motion at times.

I can say with hand on heart that I would not be reaching for the pitchfork if it was Carlton or any other club in our position, by virtue of the fact it would be hypocritical to do so. The history of tanking, or at least the extent to which we are guilty, is precisely what makes the witch hunt so farcical.

Ah, good to have you back RR.

Was watching a replay of Pies v Dogs in last year's NAB, which provided a timely reminder of just how quick Dawes can be over the first 10-15. For a big guy he has an impressive burst of speed. He left one of the smaller midfielders for dead, collected and goaled. Was also applying very good defensive pressure. The potential is undoubtedly there for Neeld to resurrect.

Caro would find an entire article out of this thread. Tongue in cheek? What tongue in cheek?

Don't be that guy rpfc. Call it what you like. In the years I've been here I can't remember the subject being discussed openly outside of the odd snide remark. Not all if us have been coming here since Adam was a lad mate.

BBO, if ever someone questions me on the effects of being a lifelong Demons supporter, you're my Exhibit A. Appreciate the responses. I understand that alternative options can be important, but I still see it as a shame if the considered views of Ology posters are not being shared on here also. United front and all that.
-
One thing I've never understood from the get go is why there are two main supporter forums (Land and Ology) and this supposed (and wee bit juvenile) rivalry between them (BF board I group separately as it is part of a larger AFL forum). 1) It's not like we have the largest supporter base. Splitting us up seems a pointless exercise that results in less diversity of opinion and contribution. 2) Several posters seem to post on both sites anyhow. 3) Is Land really that horrible that there is this apparent need for a second forum? When Oology went down I thought finally we might be able to have the one main supporter forum, but I see it's back again. Perhaps there is some greater, logical reason/history behind this? Note: Not trying to [censored]-stir, more genuinely curious.

Wow. I was going to give you some stick for your predictions about Bate in the 2007 "young gun" thread, but I think maybe I'll just shut up.. I've been to witness to a few fisty cuffs at the footy but never involved in one. I distinctly remember one that was much like your good self - one Hawthorn fan taking on three Pies fans, and winning. Levelled the lot of them.

Beautiful work Sloonie.
