  1. If we get smashed by GWS to the tune of 7+ goals, I'll want Neeld out. A full year of this completely non-competitive tripe could be devastating to the already hindered development of this playing group.
  2. Sounds like the perfect representative for our club.
  3. Sorry but that is garbage. How can you judge a player's ability when they've been stripped of all confidence and play with zero intensity? What would Joel Selwood be without these qualities? Talent isn't an issue. There is enough talent on our list to make a charge, it just appears we have a panel of numpties who are guiding them. They are running around like a bunch of headless chooks.
  4. Bingo. A couple look alright, but it's yet another bankable for Neeld than has no value yet. It's up there with the fact we are supposedly elite at training. The guy has no runs on the board. In anything.
  5. There was a moment last night where it was almost as though Nate Jones had said, "enough of this", and decided to read the tap from Ryder rather than his own ruckman. He won the clearance and we got a rare inside 50 from it. The camera panned back to Jones who was, albeit very subtly, shaking his head in disbelief.
  6. I'm not defending 186 on its own and I don't think the OP is either really. It was a shocking day and a shockingly bad performance. But in comparison to 148 (I guess we can call it that now), there is some context that, for me at least, makes 148 a worse loss. Some will disagree. I anticipate that if personnel doesn't change, we will be looking at several more games this season that will be referred to only by the final margin.
  7. OP raises the valid point that Geelong were arguably at their peak and are widely recognised as one of if not the best team of the modern era. They went on to beat the Pies by 100 points away from home. They were FLYING at that stage. Doesn't excuse the performance, but it can be somewhat explained. To be utterly destroyed on our home turf by Port and now Essendon can't be defended on any grounds.
  8. I do find the constant implications by Neeld that the club was a basket case and by association, Bailey, really poor form. His record is ALOT better than yours Markus, and by pretty much any measure, we've been thrown into reverse at 150 clicks. Sorry, 148 clicks. That Adelaide footage is like watching a different team. I suppose in many ways it is one.
  9. Out: Jamar, Gillies, Nicho, Byrnes, Toumpas (not ready, let's not ruin yet another top end talent) In: Spencer, Strauss, Jetta, Tapscott (can't ignore that form, made a statement and should be rewarded), Magner (make it happen, he's needed, desperately) or Kent Watts' last chance, and throw Sylvia and Trengove into the guts for heaven's sake.
  10. Hehe, welcome back Jonesy. That was a quick hiatus. I thought you'd at least last a day.
  11. All I can say is, thank god for the positive reports to come out of this game. Something to cling onto. Acknowledging the drop in pressure and standard, Is this a reflection on Neeld? To excel as soon as they are off the leash and in a different environment?
  12. Agreed. Spot fires everywhere but the biggest one is in the centre and Jamar is the principal cause. Once again, indicative of a team that has had all its confidence sucked out of it. He's not this bad a footballer.
  13. If you want to cringe like you've never cringed before, go back and watch some of the old Whiteboard Wednesdays. In Week One he pulls out a book that is essentially "Corporations for Dummies" and shows how many pages he has bookmaked in it. And it goes downhill from there.
  14. I think we have to accept that Schwab will run this club into extinction if he has to. He's not jumping and no-one is going to push him. The club is bigger than the individual, unless that individual is Cameron.
  15. Hopefully the prize in the happy meal is a clue. Not many of our players seem to have one of those.
  16. nc - yep - watching the game you wouldn't know.. the non-negs are combative effort, desire to compete, intensity, urgency Is anyone else getting a little tired of these buzz words being trotted out? How exactly is "competitiveness" a game plan? What is the difference between effort, desire, intensity and urgency and HOW do these things translate in terms of the specifics of football? I could try and articulate this myself but I want to hear Neeld and Craig do it. Enough of these [censored] platitudes. Explain to me how a team with half the possessions can have 30 less tackles, and if you say "we lacked intensity" I am walking away.
  17. It's like they don't practice stoppages at all. He just taps it down to whoever wants it, and 9 times out of 10, an opposition player fits that bill.
  18. He was deplorable tonight. No other word for it.
  19. Agreed. Last week was different. It was instinctual. This week was pre-meditated, you could see that clear as day.
  20. I wish I shared your confidence on that Rangey. I think we might be stuck with him yet.
  21. Messages of support flooding in from opposition fans on Facebook, including Bomber fans. Never seen anything like this.
  22. Would be an extremely brave man that takes on this club right now. Having said that, anyone who can turn it around would become a part of AFL folklore. Saving the oldest club in the world. Not a bad thing to have on the resume. Has to be a proven AFL coach. Give them whatever they want.
  23. You know what? I still don't believe that, even if the evidence says otherwise. I still think there is so much more to extract from this group, with some notable exceptions. The group just seem confused and void of self belief. An experienced AFL coach please. Stat.
  24. If something doesn't change, and I mean heads rolling, it won't matter because the club will go. It's officially Fitzroy time. Decisions made in the next few weeks are critical to the club's future. I personally feel quite calm about it for reasons known on this site, but I still appreciate this situation is now at a critical stage.
