Never in doubt. Just reservations about the trend of placing all bets on the 'great new hope'. He's the future, but he's still a first year player. Anyhow, no biggy. Viney is synonymous with the Dees, no question.

I give it a whatever/10. We move on.

Craigy's stint in the banner was short and sweet. Welcome Jack the lad.

Did it strike anyone as just slightly odd that by Friday, there had been no discussion about match ups? Col said he hadn't even discussed that with Rawlings as yet. Assuming that's true of course. I just contrast that with Harry O who keeps a diary on his opponents and puts solid research into who he is coming up against that week.

All of Grimes, Dawes and Garland are excellent when it comes to fronting the media. Jonea and Trenners hold their own, but the other three should take on media duties when possible.
-
Looking sharp Craigy.

The slow reveal has worked on me. I'm now intrigued as to who it is, if it isn't Viney. They're taking up prime real estate in the middle so obviously deemed an important figure. I also think Viney would be a strange choice as a first year player but whatever.

Will be my first glimpse of him. Best of luck to the lad.

C'mon Nicho, do something in this game son. Anything.

The awkward equation that must determine our next coach...
P-man replied to the fork's topic in Melbourne Demons
This DeeinWa clown needs to be banned. Does nothing but mock others and doesn't even have the decency to be good at it. -
It's a fair point and I'll be first to admit that if we were sitting at the opposite end of the ladder, my feelings about all of Schwab's gimmicks might be very different. But I do think jumper design is important irrespective of how the team is travelling. You only have to look at the response from fans to when the Lions wore their old jumper from their premiership era recently. Overwhelming support for making it a permanent thing. Likewise with the Lions new Disney-esque lion logo. They all hate it. These things do form part of the connection you feel to your club. To me, a footy jumper should look like a footy jumper. I mean we're already seen as a bunch of toffs who wouldn't go to the tip without wearing a collared shirt, do we really have to enforce that stereotype on the field as well? :D

Now all we need is a crowbar. I suppose we've got a crow coach, that's close enough. -
Definite improvement. Nice job.

Since when is our premiership window open? -
It's a decent start.

For me, it's not just about the ludicrousness of the bugler, or the soulless mish mash of a logo, or the dinky attempt at giving a nod to our heritage with the schoolboy blazers, or the jumper design with the collar that looks like a tailor's afterthought. Everyone will have their own opinion on each of these things. For me, collectively, it is just as much about them being symbolic of an era that has been nothing short of disaster. In an attempt to give the club a unique brand, they have come to represent a club that has been about everything except playing football. So whilst I might have picked on an insignificant, albeit annoying facet, what am I really driving at is I think these things should all be reviewed and in some cases should go. A rebuild of this club from top to bottom should be all encompassing.

Shocked me too. Nash is his number one fan. Loves his hardness.

I know it's a trivial thing and we of course have bigger issues, but they just look absurd. Let's get back to looking like a footy side.

Milne is a significant out, given their other smalls are either out of form or just not very good. Completely shut down St Nick and who knows.
-
Thanks for chiming in with that. There's no reason why he wouldn't be. It's hardly inconceivable that Watts can put Davey and Magner, guys half his size, on their ar$e.

I can't like this post enough. Keep the updates coming peoples. Cheers.

I have to admit, the more I look at this one, the more I like it. Classical yet simple. And the demon itself is a gem.

Agreed, don't want to be critical but surely there's a better photo.

Did it the hard way, coming down to very last game of the group, but fortunately avoided the HARDEST way. I wouldn't have fancied going into a playoff against the likes of Chile or the old foe, Uruguay. Some very positive signs for the future in Oar and Rogic. Serious talents, both of them. The reality is that we'll likely get crushed in Rio, but who cares. A third World Cup in a row is a tremendous achievement. I might end up going to this one actually. Certainly beats Qatar.
