Christ on a bike. Read. Comprehend. You're speculating. I'm speculating. It's silly and plain wrong to suggest that time wasn't a factor. Of course it was. You want to a) accumulate enough runs to defend and b) ensure you are left with enough time to bowl the other mob out. Achieving (a) quicker assists with (b). Not complex. As it turned out, Doolan did finally sacrifice his wicket and Watto/Smith came in to achieve a and b, but it doesn't make examination of Doolan at the time any less warranted. Yes, it was mentioned in the commentary a few times. So what? Moody thought it was an issue worth mentioning. You don't. I know whose opinion I give more weight. Enjoy yours. Say hi to the cows for me.

Against my better judgement, mainly because I enjoy your posts when you're not posting rubbish like you have here. Read the OP again. He was asking a legitimate question. And even if it was a creating a discussion of the past, there's nothing wrong with doing that. You seem to think it's always an exercise in laying the boot into others or self-flagellation, when it may just be a case of discussing whether Taggert would have made it under the new coaching regime. Where's the harm? There is none.

You've "got a feling" do you mate? So in other words you are speculating on what his instructions would have been, as all of us are. Clarke's body language looking on suggested that he wasn't 100% comfortable with the scoring rate, and it was rightly raised in the commentary several times. Doolan was plodding along when there was 9 wickets in hand and time was a factor. If his instruction was to do that, fine. I don't see why it would have been. As cute as I find this obsession you have developed with picking apart my posts, with little personal jibes thrown in, I'm really not that interested in indulging them anymore.

Yes, how dare he ask a question about a previous draft. What a ridiculous post. Get over yourself.

Doolan definitely needs to hurry the fark up. This isn't tiddlywinks, there is a series win against the number one team on the line here. Either start hitting or get out trying.

I'm the same. I know he's not the brightest spark. I know he's a terrible writer. I just don't really care. His passion for the game is unequalled amongst football journos and that appeals to me. Plus he seems to have his finger on the pulse, for better or worse, and he isn't as vindictive in how he chooses to report as that witch down the road.

I also spotted him chatting to one of the real housewives of Melbourne. New conditioning coach? Given it was the Fox Footy launch it would seem Vossy might have a new (old) gig,

master, you're better than this. I'm not sure you even know what you're arguing for anymore. You'd rather he did it every fortnight? Really? Yes we hired him to coach, and this won't impact on that in any way. The potential gains are obvious, and whilst they may end up being small, they are still gains. This is a club that needs to explore every avenue to lift its profile.

It's clear it was a premeditated decision but I'll admit when I heard the news of Smith's retirement my first thought was, "another one bites the dust". It's strange because I always thought of Smith as a young man given he took on the captaincy so young. Was a truly great player in his day. Speaking of players we've forced into retirement, I see Swann is joining the commentary team over in the old dart. I think he has misjudged just how much the manner he bowed out of the game has affected his public standing. The fans are still not happy with him based on the comments I've seen. He didn't just disgrace himself, he disgraced English cricket. Good luck Swanny, I have a feeling you're going to need it.

This will take up literally the time it takes to do the slot on the Monday night show. You can tell that Rocket, Bomber etc did no preparation whatsoever so I doubt Roos will be any different. The impact this will have on his coaching is all but zero. The potential gains however are obvious. Major overreaction but you're entitled to your opinion. I see it as only having a positive impact.

Practice Match - Melbourne v Hawthorn @ Casey Fields

Nah bugger that. Bring em on. -
Awesome news as a supporter. Lifts the profile of the club that little bit more and get extra insights every week.

We simply must win this. They're a rabble. I'm not concerned about margin but it would be nice to make it a significant one. Solid start to the season is being presented.

Jack Watts ready to step up under Melbourne Demons coach Paul Roos
P-man replied to baysidedave's topic in Melbourne Demons
No sarcastic comment yet? I can do it this time. Ahem. Gee...just what we need, another Watts thread. Okay, now we can move on. Good luck to Wattsy this year. The new role is going to do wonders for him. Very happy he has stayed. -
Doctor Zaius Doctor Zaius Doctor Zaius Doctor Zaius Doctor Zaius Doctor Zaius Oooohh Doctor Zaius

Is it too early in his career to say that we really missed JKH? It's too early, right?

He will have good days and bad days. Last night wasn't his best but his courage and effort is unquestioned, and to my eyes there has been a gradual reduction in the number of howlers. You could bank on him making several a game a few years ago.

I have previously claimed that Vince is twice the value of Sylvia. I was mistaken and apologise for this false claim. He is in fact three times the value of Sylvia.

I'm not his biggest fan but the fact we are hosting the G20 can be largely attributed to Rudd being held in such high regard internationally. You alao appear to have been duped by Abbott's campaign of the sky is falling. The state of the economy is now in his hands. I think you're just starting to see what "shithouse on the home front" really looks like.

Was with you Adam til you said we need to weed out Dunn. Seriously need to get over the hatred of this bloke. He was one of the standouts, following up on his performance against Richmond. Needs to do it in the real stuff but the signs are, get used to Dunn playing every week.

Even if the ball use was frankly atrocious at times, I'll take that high possession game every week over the dross of last year where it was all one way traffic. We also won't face Geelong type pressure every week. Really liked Clisby and Terlich's game down back, and can almost bank on Vince to have a career best year. He looks in ripping nick. Tyson is a couple of years away from being a genuine star. Some of Watts' second efforts were very pleasing and invariably used the ball well. Jezza put in a solid shift and worked hard. I'm tipping him to have a more consistent year. Toump still doesn't work hard enough defensively and made some shocking errors at crucial times, whilst the likes of Byrnes and Nicholson are quite obviously not best 22. Overall a mountain of work still to do but some solid strides forward.

That sliding rule is utterly ridiculous.

That's better Crossy, cheers.

Crossy please. You can not spill that mark.
