Pedoooo!!!!
-
I tell you what, Bail has been very good.
-
All over them, just no reward. Skills and pressure has been better than for the bulk of last season.
-
I hate being a supporter of this club sometimes. I'm emptying my dacks in anticipation of a NAB CUP GAME.
-
I'm sure they gained a lot out of watching the other side get leather poisoning. A few senior players to sure up their defense and help maintain structures would not have gone astray and still allowed plenty of the youngsters some experience. Anyhow, not debating this cause I really don't care that much.

14 of thief best 22 missing. Leppa overdoing it a tad by throwing ALL the kids to the wolves.
-
His own worst enemy. Will many MFC fans hold Colin Sylvia in high regard? I doubt it. I don't care how he goes at Freo to be honest. If he does well, good luck to him. I'm just glad we don't have to go through another season wondering if this is going to be his year.
-
The way he was looking towards the end of last season, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he became top dog. Good luck to him if he does.
-
My memories of Pederson in the ruck are not pleasant ones. Could just be my recollection but he seemed to get dominated regularly. I'd be happy for him to be plonked forward and see what Roosy is on about with this new and improved Pedo. With our luck we may well need to draw upon his services throughout the season.

What are your feelings towards each opposition club?
P-man replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
No votes as yet for West Coast as a most liked. This pleases me very much. Marginally behind Essendon for worst supporters in the league. -
The God(s) must be crazy..

"I think any government which makes it harder to manufacture cars is making it harder for us to continue to be a first world economy." Abbott, May 2011 Seems at odds with the cold shoulder treatment and outright antagonism. It's time for Tony to put on his big boy pants and show his roadmap for manufacturing in this country as it is falling to its knees under his watch. Whatever the factors, that is what is happening, and he's PM now. We need an actual policy framework based on more than one liners and constant proclamations of the country being "open for business".
-
That, along with: "If Tony Abbott ends up the Prime Minister of Australia, you've got to say, God help us. Truly, an intellectual nobody, with no policy ambition." "Where is the thought-out position? Turnbull had an articulated, intellectual, moderate, thought-out conservative position. The fact is that Abbott does not have this." I find it pretty funny how even in an article attempting to show Tony's fluffy budgy wearing side, quotes taken from him include swipe after swipe at his predecessors. He is symptomatic of everything that is wrong with politics in this country. He clings to overwhelming negativity like a safety blanket. The problem now is that he is having to answer for his own actions, and almost without exception is coming up dismally short. Let's wait and see what the budget looks like with no cuts to key areas as he has promised. If he finally manages to keep a promise, I'll just about fall over. M-m-Maybe it won't be g-g-gospel truth and he can st-st-stammer his way through another defense of his b-b-[censored]. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eai3eKPEV5I

Grant Thomas twitter attack on Paul Roos???
P-man replied to Vipercrunch's topic in Melbourne Demons
Roos can say and do whatever the hell he wants if it means making us a competitive force again. For the record though, I haven't noticed a huge amount of smugness. He's never bothered me in the same way as your typical arrogant coaches (Malthouse, B Scott, Lyon etc), in fact I've always quite liked him on a personal level. -
I'm ignoring that voice telling me I should be worried that a kid yet to play his first AFL game was clear BOG. I seem to recall Blease was BOG at the intraclub last year so it means little, but clearly there is still a long way to go. Mistakes under pressure at a practice match is not a great sign. Grimes' poor kicking: a familiar and sorry tale. On the upside, glad that Viv was in the thick of it and the plan is to get the ball in the hands of Vince (and Watts) as much as possible. Even with skill errors I'd much rather see a gameplan that puts faith in the ability to pass and retain possession rather than hogging the wings and giving the opposition time to get numbers back and protect space. I will be very disappointed if a reportedly fit group is still not willing to work hard for teammates to create options under Roos' direction. Get a positive gameplan in place and the rest will follow with the likes of Salem and Toumpas coming through. As Roos has said, as long as people can see what is trying to be achieved in the early stages, I'll be reasonably content.

New coach Paul Roos shocked by Demons' scars
P-man replied to Undeeterred's topic in Melbourne Demons
Groan. It was not genuine advice. Apparently I need to point that out. Post whatever the hell you want, hold everyone to account, but if I see unwarranted criticism of a guy whose five minutes through the door, I'm going to call you on it. As I said you did it with Jackson, now Roos, and it's more than a little bit odd. -

Once again you've overlooked or missed the main point being made. You want action, but in an interview where Roos discusses his plans you want more "we're committed and sticking together" fluff.I'll leave you to your anti-Roos/Jackson tirades and criticising an interview as being all talk. -

I'm beginning to think you might have been happier if he didn't do the interview at all. Maybe just don't read them in future and let others discuss what he says and his plans for the players. i.e. his intended actions. -

l have been called a few things mate, but a sycophant is not one of them. I'm not the one who wants to hear nothing lines about working on skills and sticking together. Roos has been very direct in saying that players will be given a specific role and their ability to play that role will determine them keeping their spot. He will make them accountable, I have no doubt about that. Just because I am liking the sounds coming out of the club at present does not make me a sycophant. It makes me have genuine faith in those leading us forward, which is a refreshing change. You've been critical of Jackson from the outset and now you're doing the same with Roos, and for the life of me I can't understand why. Finally we have two blokes with runs on the board who know what they're doing. -

So essentially an empty and obvious platitude straight out of the PR machine that gets spun all the time. I can almost guarantee you that if I dug through Roos' interviews and speeches since joining the club, I could find an excerpt along those lines. This was actual and real INSIGHT into Roos' impressions of the players and the club and you're denouncing it. I think most have let go. Time for you to do the same and not jump at shadows. Roos' and Jackson's candour is a good thing. -
New coach Paul Roos shocked by Demons' scars
P-man replied to Undeeterred's topic in Melbourne Demons
My reading of the comment about mental scarring relates to years of shiteness that precedes Neeld. The club has been in a hole since 2006, it merely poked its head out for a few years under Bailey. I can see how it could be read as a comment about Neeld as a coach, but I don't think it is a direct criticism, merely a statement, and an obvious one, about years of being belted taking its mental toll. -

You're being critical for the sake of it and seem obsessed with defending the indefensible, i.e. the complete disaster that was Neeld. Of course it's time to do. He can't do anything in an interview except talk. He also didn't just talk about how shite we were. He gave his honest assessment of the playing group and his approach going forward. What would you have liked him to say, exactly? -

Come off it jumbo. When did he [censored] in your cornflakes? All he was in that interview was honest and forthright, and it is very welcomed. The closest he came to anything resembling Neeld bashing was criticism of how Watts has been used in the past, which everyone acknowledges has been far from stellar. He could've really let rip if he wanted to. Roos understands these are people, not units. I have confidence that he will get the balance right over time in steering them towards his style. -
