You obviously have no idea of his background. You don't work across the board at the very highest level the way he has without knowing what you're doing.

Don't know that Jack Viney would agree. But the list of players that was cited above who "should have been played" in the VFL to strengthen Casey in the finals, only includes two "kids", Kent (doing OK in the firsts) and Toumpas (another easy 30 possessions last week).

Pedersen, McKenzie, Tapscott and Bail need development in the VFL? Fitzpatrick is injured, but would know the change rooms at Casey like the back of his hand. As for Kent and Toumpas, see above. One AFL game is worth more than any number of VFL finals. Development isn't dropping players back to the VFL once they've shown they can play at AFL level.

Craig for a year or two then, with Burns or Simpson in the wings ready to take over. At least with Craig we hit the ground running.

Agreed. But so many of the off-field people involved in Jurrah's time at the club are now gone, so suspect he might have to go to the back of the queue, no matter how popular he is amongst the players.

Anyone know if Toumpas is eligible for VFL finals? Also Gawn and Spencer? Seems that they need at least 6 VFL games - is this the case with these three? -
Especially at the moment. Hird has now had 3 years at Essendon, not sure that it's a night and day difference to their time under Knights, especially given that Hird has a better list (outsider's view perhaps ...). Wouldn't be surprised to see Knights get another chance at AFL level if he has the appetite, he's certainly doing well at Geelong.

Hardly even worth replying to ridiculous hyperbole like this, but both Grimes and Trengove had more possessions than Gary "best player in the AFL" Ablett, and across town, they also had more than Nick Maxwell and Kieren Jack (Swans co-captain).

Just seems conflicting information leaking out here and there, with little that's concrete. Not sure why Misson made no mention of him (at all) in this week's injury report. Somewhat worrying that that's the case.
