  1. Yes. And his contract price just went up $200k since the start of this thread.
  2. Wish we had video of you in your 6th day in your first job Picket.
  3. If ever you needed proof the AFL and Essendon Footy Club are scum-suckers surely this is it. One party 'didn't keep records' for an experiment they were injecting this guy with (yeah, right, cos no one keeps records of their research), the other tried to hush it up, buy it off and make it disappear. These bodies have shat all over the game and the sport they've been entrusted with and both need to be vaporised.
  4. The double edged sword of PR spin. If it's an automatic 'play 100 games, get a life membership' then give it to them as they walk or the door. No alarms, no surprises. If you want to use it as a positive PR 'announcement' 2 years later you'll cop the value judgements, positive and negative. The constant social media involvement thing is not all upside. E.g. The 'Jesse's going to sign long-term' thing has gone from an instant positive to a questionable negative,
  5. Where did you come from? Guess I'll have to fix that.
  6. Strange kind of 'announcement'? Nothing in the press conf?
  7. Roos isn't giving 100%? I don't doubt for a second he's giving 100% EVERY day. My point was that by his own admission (I've only read that in these very pages mind you rather from Roosy himself) the rebuild is a 5 year project, he's signed on for 3 (it's obviously at least a 5 year thing nonetheless). Well 3 out of 5 is not 100% in anyone's language. Most coaches sign on with an intention of taking a team to a Premiership (100% success) rather than a designated period at 100% effort. Of course most coaches fail in that, but that's their intent. That's all I'm saying. Not saying it won't/can't work.
  8. Clearly C&B, some blind beliefs aren't supposed to come under scrutiny. Namely: 1. In Roosy we trust 2. In P.J. we trust I think both are doing a great job, but your question has been rattling around my skull all year, and I think it's a fair question whether it's asked today, or any other day. After all, we are in an age of 100% or nothing.
  9. Already done more than T$ has in his whole career.
  10. Agree saw him the previous week at training and commented here that while solid enough in the legs, he looked a little light on in the bicep, and upper body generally... Reasonable height for a mid though.
  11. Was there for half an hour. Cold. The tent blew down. 5 news crews, 25 or so supporters. Pretty relaxed looking start, followed by the usual leading/field kicking drills. Hard to know who was missing without a fresh list in front of me. Nothing spectacular to report: Pederson's not as big as I'd expected, standing next to Dunn was maybe a tad shorter. Tommy Mac seems to have put on a bit of size across the shoulders. Trengove and Tapscott maybe a bit slighter. Taggert is solid enough in the legs, not so much in the bicep. A group of players came out from AAMI as I was about to leave including Gawn, who doesn't look as much of a bobble-head on an icy pole stick as he did last year, now has a bit more body, Spencer, Fitz, Jones, Tynan and Hogan. Didn't see these guys on the track at but was heading off. Good to see Hogan there, was taking it all in and when he fills out a bit should be a beaut.
  12. Down at training and overheard some Ch7 blokes (didn't see who) say they were "off to do Gardiner". Interview I guess. Wonder what fuel he has for the fire?
  13. Give me the all-red one, but some more variations to a familiar theme (assuming I can work out the attachments).
  14. Nothing ever does really.
  15. "Wolves"? You can't be serious, "Giants" is American, but "Wolves" is Australian? And FFS what was that Hyacinth coloured jumper with the dying wolf someone suggested a few posts back...? Give me strength.
  16. I found 13 wins, but scaled back the optimism meter to 11-12 to allow for lapses. Having said that, we coulda shoulda woulda beaten the Dogs, Hawks, Pies (x2) and Freo this year if not for a mix of dumb luck, dumb decisions and the odd dumb kick. We'll be better in '11 and I've only got us beating the Dockers of that bunch so who knows. Only one game at AAMI-geddon so that's nice. Need to learn to kick accurately at goal early over there. Always our undoing.
  17. The umpiring was shameless, Buddy is a fine actress, but thankfully the Hawks only kicked one or two of the five or so goals they looked like being gifted by the umps. The rest was down to us losing clearances imo. Four quarters of Flash would have been handy too...
  18. A good time to win at AAMI at all costs. Get that monkey off our backs now, for next year and for ever.
  19. I think Du Bois is taking a look mate.
  20. I was tucked up in bed, listening on my crystal set radio, using my iron bed-head as an aerial. Them were the days. Great memories.
  21. I noticed that yesterday too. But just got on now and saw Matty Warnock in a hat instead. Maybe they read and did move on? I don't want to look at Brock's face either, but Gysberts didn't get many touches for us last year, you'd think it would change when a ball is bounced in anger. Like him or not Robbo is part of the rich heritage we pride ourselves and sell our selves on. What I find more offensive is the Company Line peddled by the AFL that we have to read and support, give us back our balls, give us our own damn website and our own voice.
  22. Once you get to the banner version, rather than the poster, I reckon the font issue makes sense, better to have THE and FIRE same font when used on a single line, having the whole thing in flames would probably be overkill. Poster follows suit. I would have loved to have seen an army of youngsters backing up the old guys, but maybe would have blown the photoshop budget. I like it... It may have been either the Dalai Lama or Groucho Marx who said "No-one ever went broke underestimating public taste" so this is good.
  23. Was 31 when he won the Brownlow, from behind the fence he never looked younger than about 87 to me though. Pretty robust 87 year-old it has to be said.
  24. Supposedly the oldest is Barry Round, but I reckon you're talking about Kevin Murray. And I'd be guessing Jack Grimes. If I blur my eyes a little a can see it, not quite so hunched though.
  25. Looks like JMac2 isn't convinced it's a done deal, he's obviously still sniffing around far and wide and unsure what colours he favours next year: www.joelmacdonald.co.uk
