  1. Our first pick needs to be on a fast and skilled mid, IMHO. If WCE get scared by another Judd scenario and we get Cotchin, that seems to be great. Either way, we should get a decent player. I'd spend our other picks on KPP prospects - if they're ~the best at that pick, if not you just take whoever - and rookie ruckmen.
  2. Come on! As much as you want MFC to win a flag in the next two years, it's not likely to happen. We're far more likely to have a tilt at the flag when the McLean, Bate et al. era is in their prime, so lets invest in that era. Top-15 pick for TJ? Good for us. Forget about his potential, or his draft number 10 years ago. Hopefully it's also a win for TJ - a change of scenery and all that jazz - and Brisbane. I think he's a guy who, if not the #1 midfielder (and thus wearing a heavy tag), could add some cream to a decent midfield.
  3. We can only hope In a foxsports article, in passing it mentioned that we were definitely keeping Miller.
  4. We won't be holding the '4' in '3-4' since White will retire soon, as you state. That leaves three rucks on our list, none of whom have cemented a second-ruck spot, let alone a first-ruck spot. Who knows if one of them will be up to scratch, let alone two or three.
  5. Bruce will be contracted, and I can't see him retiring. Maybe Miller and CJ will be delisted/traded, if they're even on our list for '08.
  6. I understand that, but I just think that mentioning that the guy is a Carlton fan, and reiterating that fact, doesn't give the rumour any more credibility. That was my point. Oh, and a friendly swipe at myself and everyone else that posts on here
  7. I hope we wouldn't take that deal. Better than the pick 58 quoted on Demonology though :| Fwiw, the CJ article on the MFC website seems to have disappeared. Is this a sign?
  8. Supporters don't know anything.
  9. Agreed. Haha, love it.
  10. ...and dropped him ;o
  11. Well said :|
  12. There's always one out of the box, but I wouldn't be surprised to see most of Holland, Yze, McDonald, Neitz, and White gone. The latter three probably have more scope to continue, if they have strong seasons.
  13. Agreed.
  14. The Australian seems to intimate that it's done. Anyhow, probably the wrong board.
  15. Imagine if we said we'd not support her because she was a women I want the best person for the job, regardless of gender. The fact that O'Connor is a woman should have zilch to do with it.
  16. Hrm
  17. Sounds like a decent deal for us, although it would be hard to support Rhyce Shaw...
  18. Essentially, no one is untoucable. However, there are guys that you won't get given what you think they're worth to you. I don't think we'll get what we need to win in a trade for Rivers.
  19. I think the obstacle is not the desire of TJ to stay at Melbourne, but the meaning behind the phrase 'substantial contract'. Maybe that's why TJ's name is always bandied about come trade week, but no one bites.
  20. Totally exaggerated comment, and the fact that he's been dropped many times within those two seasons for 'team balance' tells us something. As Jaded said, he's on borrowed time anyway.
  21. You know he was referring to Velvet's post?
  22. It's trade week now, isn't it? ;o Ends Friday afternoon.
  23. I've been advocating the same, but in a reasonable run in the latter part of 2007 he failed to cement a spot in the team. However, in the one or two games I saw ground time % for, it was pretty low for CJ. Unfortunately, he doesn't go back to Sandringham and dominate, which is what I think he needs to start doing when he's not playing for Melbourne. I wouldn't trade Wheatley. However, I would stop playing him in the backline. Wheatley on a wing from 2008.
  24. Too old. Thankfully, the Club have come out and said we're looking for our next Premiership to be based around our younger brigade (which is only common sense, but that's not a common trait ).
