Has handled himself with grace and integrity. Even managed to throw in a couple of jokes. He has spoken really well and hasnt hit out at the club. Thanks Dean for your service at the club. Just a shame it didnt end on a good note

I know you have to ask the council for a permit to train on the ground but seeing as our youngsters wouldnt have played on there except for maybe un 18's I would think the smart thing to do was have a light skills session or even a walk around the ground to see how different it is to the G. Everyone knows the boundaries are different and when kicking you dont kick down the wings near the boundary but thats what we were doing. I just hope that Cameron or Chris sounded it out to have a session on there. I know we did it one year.

Eaxcatly. Jordie went in there for the ball today. I also thought Howe was ok with his limited chances and Nicholson tried to. The club should refund anyone that went down there today. I mean Green and co still get there nice little pay packet but I forked out cash to attend that crap today. They did not deserve there pay except for the few mentioned.

Exactly right if Beamer had the flu and couldnt run out a game he should not have been playing. I love Beamer and he is probably our real captain but we needed his run out there today.

I ventured down got to the casey v geelong game at 3/4 time and saw the score and said to my parents I hope this isnt an omen. How right I would be. Now I knew we wouldnt win but I was hoping to be in the game at 1/4 time. I thought I cant watch this for another 3 quarters. I was in the standing room section where years ago I would be surrounded by other dees fans but no it was like I was in the geelong cheer squad. I was surrounded by them. By the end they were feeling sorry for us and the 4 drunk guys behind me were saying how good supporters we were for sticking to it at the end. All I oculd do in the end was just laugh because I seriously thought we were going to lose by 200 points. Then when the lights went out in the final minutes it was like a night match. At least we stopped them from getting the highest all time record and I finished off the night with a beautiful mexican dinner. But geez I hope we dont play there next season. Also whats with everyone rocking up to the game in tracksuit pants. Is that the attire for cats games.

I know Moloney was subbed off but I couldnt see him sitting on the bench and didnt see him walk off after the game. I was sitting on the other side of the ground and couldnt see him. Was he injured or was he sitting in the corner of the bench? I still cant believe he didnt touch the ball for a whole half.

I'm one of those who will be going down to Geelong. I haven't been down there in a few years and last time I went down was when Robbo turned on a show and we came back and won. I'm thinking I won't see the same result.

Im happy Bates in. I have always thought he was a better option than Newton. He leads up well, backs himself and can kick it far and accurate. Im surprised Dunn is in but at least we have some foward options on sunday. I hope Bate can do well.

I will be more shocked if Scully re-signed with us than him announcing he is going.

Sorry forgot to add the bad/ugly. Our stupid runner. Seriously I know it was an honest mistake but stay away from our player when they are kicking for goal. I reckon Green would have slotted it through.

the good. Frawley- Thnaks danners for drafting him. Kept Schultz out of it Pettard- Consistent game again Jurrahs 3rd quarter Stef MArtins work again Moloney Watts did some nice things. He doesnt look like a boy anymore, Now that he has bulked up and has a bit of abeard he now looks like a man Winning the game. How much did we make even though it was a low crowd The bad Garland getting caught out a few times Morton again Some missed esy shots. You dont have to dribble the ball along the ground every time. The fact we play hawthorn who will be fresh coming off the bye and we are coming back from darwin playing in 71% humidity The ugly not much

They said on ch10 sport Wonna wont be back this year and he wants to play for a darwin team next year. He had dinner with Beamer and Jurrah the other night. So he is gone.

Heath Shaw Suspended for Betting on his Own Team
dees189227 replied to jnrmac's topic in Melbourne Demons
Iknow I just did my 2 trades for the round and I have to leave Heath in. Anyway 14 match suspension and 6 of that he doesnt have to do. So Heath is out for the next 8 matches. That is huge plus a fine. The thing is it was a $10 bet he chipped in some more with some mates because he passed the info on. What an idiot. Well Heath when you are sitting there for the next 8 weeks I hope the $10 bet was worth it. Its not like he won anyway because Nick didnt kick the 1st goal. I guess you can thank your mates to. Nick Maxwell got just a fine because he actually didnt put a bet on. The thing is though if the coach came to me and said for somehting different im starting you foward instead of back, id go home and say to my family im starting foward, watch me kick 5. I guess he probably didnt think anything of it when he told his family. -
Heath Shaw Suspended for Betting on his Own Team

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/player-to-be-suspended-over-gambling/story-e6frf9io-1226095377169 presser at 3:45pm. Apparently he put a bet on Nick Maxwell to kick the first goal when he started in the foward line I think against Adelaide. Not sure how much was put on but its a pretty stupid thing to do. Didnt he learn from the car incident a few years ago. You cant get anyway with anything Heath. -
Also in that Davey interview he said that Wonna was only meant to be gone for a week and now its been a month. If Davey hasnt spoken to him in a few weeks than I hope someone else has. I know its a tragedy about his dad but I doubt he has kept himself in good shape and there is only 7 weeks left so if he did come back soon he wouldnt be playing anyway. How is he contract wise?

You know who I think would be a great fit for melbourne but it will never happen because he is in the wrong code. Craig Bellamy. He can turn an average player into a superstar. If he was coach he would not put up with our inconsistent wins/losses, he would make Brad Green a better captain and he wouldnt put up with any crap or players that didnt chase hard or performed badly in a game. He would sort them out pretty quickly.

So Stevo said on mmm tonight that Scully is over the line and gone. A lot of footy people have come out now and said this. They cant all be making it up. The thing is what 20 year old would knock back the money that GWS will offer. Its a ridiculous amount for a 3rd year player but its what the AFL has given them. Also Ward has met with them and apparently Palmer has as well. Its july. You cant honestly believe that scullys manager hasnt had a chat with GWS or vice versa. Every week this will keep coming up. If Scully goes then fine go but if it comes out he looked Jimmy in the eye and lied to him then I will be extremely annoyed.

Id still keep Rovers in the leadership group. He is a general down back bar the pies game. But sitting there friday night I thought Nathan Jones frustrates the hell out of me. When we are losing he looks a very ordinary player but when we win he plays really well. Brad Grenns miss shots are frustarting to. All shots he took friday night I hotught time for the captain to stand up. They spoke baout it after the game friday night how it was our youngsters that stood up and were our best. It was also mentioned how Howe went back and put a goal though yet Green missed the exact same shot. We at least need one of our leaders to stand up not all of them disappear in the one game.

I know after last nights performance we probably dont deserve a finals spot but going into the bye next week it just would have been really good if we won last night. Now essendon have taken our spot and if nth beat the saints tomorrow then we drop another spot. The dogs are only 2 points behind us now as well. We could have been 1 or 2 games ahead and broken away. After the bye we have port then play geelong, hawthorn carlton and west coast. I guess im also a little more annoyed because somehow the bombers managed to knock off the cats and now the essendon supporters are all smug again.

Tonight is a chance to remember and farewell one of our great players with the club holding a 1 minute silence before tonights game for Sean. I thought we would do this but it has been confirmed on the news. Jared Rivers will also lead the demons out in the great 27. I know etihad isnt a favourite of dees fans but its an important game for us as well and we wont have a game to go to next week because of the bye. It would be nice to see a good turnout of demons fans showing our support.

I thing I got out of this is Sam was spot on about Gubby. Sam said after the interview whi is this smug smart alec person. Im sorry but I just dont believe Tom Scully anymore when he says no one form GWS has appraoched his management. GWS met with Ward in person. 7 mill over 6 years is ridiculous for a 3rd year player. I know that figure isnt probably correct but what ever the offer is it will be huge. And they wonder why afl players have money problems. Anyway I dont care anymore. If Tom wants to go then he can go because the following season we will have a gun player go straight into our midfield. Jack Viney.

Does anyone know what we doing to pay our resepcts. I know we are wearing black armbands which is a given but I know it isnt our home game but I think a 1 minute silence is warranted to remember this great player. Its a shame that our next home game isnt until july 24th. Then we could do something at the mcg for him. Maybe show a video of his career on the scoreboard and get his mum or one of his sisters to toss the coin before the game.

Rod Grinter is just on SEN now talking to Harf about Sean and Cameron Schwab will be on the run home.

A very sad day for the club. I reckon Jimmy will be taking this pretty hard. Sympathies to his friends and family. On the herald sun website they have a guestbook online where you can post messages. Not sure if this will be passed on to the club or not. Interesting to watch the footy show to see what Garry Lyon has to say. Im sure before they do our game he will do a tribute. I remember when he came out to kmart for an appearance near my place and he arrived late and in his beautiful accent said I didnt realise it was this far out. He signed my mel ruckle mascot which sits proudly on my shelf. A man who tried to do the right things by not smoking or drinking and gets hit by this terrible cancer. But at least he is free of pain now. I reckon a one minute silence needs to be done for tomorrow night and I hope the players go out with an extra lift. I reckon Jimmy, Todd and Connols will talk abot Sean to the players. I reckon Rivers will have a little help tomorrow night and im sure he will wear the number 27 jumper with pride and honour.

So do we still believe Tom when GWS have spoken to Ward and he says no one has approached him or his management. Tell me they would go to Scully before Ward.
