I thought that was old news. Jackson was never going to have connolly back and of course Neil would go. He isnt going to be any good for Roos but it will be odd if he turns up at essendon along side Hird. What happens when he comes back. Does Craig go as well.

If Dew is the man why cant we just wait until the end of next year to nab him. He is out of contract next year isnt he? Then he has a year under roos and be ready to take over if Roos doesnt want to hang around for a 3rd year. . But I guess he also has family to consider. His partner works for ch7 in sydney and they have a young child. Mind you sydney are pretty selfish in holding him back and stop him form getting a senior coaching gig.

Cameron Schwab now writes for the Age.
dees189227 replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
Schwab was a little to obsessed with our history and thought he could always fall back on us being the oldest club as something to show everyone what we stand for. Lets face it he made 3 of the worst embarrassing decisions at the club. he had the players raising of our flag when we won games, had a bugular and made the players look like schoolboys with the blazers. He had 2 cracks at being ceo of our club. I just really appreciate peter jackson -
Let this be a lesson to the whole MFc. Pull your socks up and start winning or else this is what happens. Players walk. Im already nervous next season with the fear of Frawley leaving. That would hurt.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-03/sylvia-to-join-dockers He said Fremantle was a good fit "based on where I’m at with my football career". Where is he at. A frustrating player who isnt consistent who has talent but we rarely get it.

I know its annoying when he is right

By the way how about collingwood. They have lost Thomas to Carlton, ditched Krakour, Jolly and Didak and lost johnson to retirement. Also will probably lose Shaw. But I bet Bucks doesnt cop it from the media.
-
Wow I wonder if Roos will get bagged for letting another experienced player go like Neeld did last year. I doubt it and I dont want that happen but it will be interesting to see how the media treat us next season compared to last. Anyway if Col stayed I would had been happy but hearing him want to leave doesn't surprise me and im not bothered. Lets face it over the 10 years he hasnt been playing like a number 3 draft pick. Especially when you compare him to other players that have gone #3. Col's getting older and wants to play finals. I sort of get that. I would have been more devastated if Watts left or next year we lose Frawley. I think he may get a shock under Ross Lyon. He takes no prisoners and is so hard on his players. When he was at the saints he wouldn't let a player take an exam for his study because he said you are an afl footy player. Im pretty sure he wont get away with anything. Interesting to see this in the herald sun. COLIN Sylvia says he will always think of himself as a Melbourne person as he packs his bags to join Fremantle

Doesnt jamar still have 2 years on his contract?
-
I expect Col to go. It wouldnt bother me as much as it would had if Watts left. Just as long as he doesnt end up at essendon. Im sure he wants to play finals. Hope he does in end up at freo

He was Neelds manager as well so he would have got an early cut of his payout

Sydney Swans offer Franklin $7 million
dees189227 replied to Gippsland Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
The cost of living allowance is meant to be for rent. I'll tell you now Buddy will not be renting. JB just said on radio how Colless said at a breakfast how sydney were struggling financially and would need help. Don McLardy turned to JB and said your kidding, if he wants to know about a club struggling financially then have a look at us. That year swans won a flag, they recruited Tippett now a year later they have got Buddy. -
Sydney Swans offer Franklin $7 million
dees189227 replied to Gippsland Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Its sort of funny that GWS missed out on him. However this living allowance is ridiculous. People in the real world move to sydney for work, they dont earn over 1 mill a year and they certainly dont get a living allowance. They cope just fine. To get tippett on 900,000 a year then offer buddy a $7 million, five-year contract from the swans is just unfair. -
Josh Mahoney named new football operations boss
dees189227 replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
I guess he is a better administrator than a forward coach. It seems that in the past few months he has impressed everyone. COngrats to him. Can I ask a really dumb question. Who is our director of football. Because Josh's is a different role isnt it? -
Im happy with this, as much as he frustrates me Im glad he didnt walk. This is his 6th preseason i think, so now next season we need to see him do a lot more. But I think with Roosy there he will be ok.
-
We were on table 85, I saw it when they went to Jones. By the way are we the only club tonight where the captain didnt poll 1 vote. And we had 2 of them.
-
I was so happy for Viney to get 2 votes. Congrats to ablett. Thankgod Swan didnt win. Im not sure who drank more, him or his gf. By the way superstar moloney only got 2 votes. 1 was against us. Even Watts got more votes than him. Just saying

It seems so which is interesting.

When Do We Find Out About the Priority Pick?
dees189227 replied to Grimseyisgod's topic in Melbourne Demons
Seriously you are angry at the AFL because they wouldnt give us something else. We didnt deserve a pick. Im glad we didnt get one. If this was carlton essendon collingwood or richmond we would all be saying dont give them one. We have had so many 1st round picks over the years and stuffed them up big time because we didnt have the right people to develop them. Its our fault. The AFL have helped us out by giving us Peter Jackson and Paul Roos. Other clubs have managed to develop players. Port was in the same position than us maybe worse last year and they didnt go running to the AFL for a pick. Dont blame the AFL blame our past coaches and recruiting staff -
This is a bit of a surprise. Nothing against Brad but what can he do. Also a development coach, what group will he work with. Lets hope he makes a far better coach than he was a player. He was so frustrating he would show a lot but never saw it every week. So who has he replaced? Anyway I guess with Roosy as a mentor it will be ok. I trust Roosy and what he is doing
-
Im not sure scully would be happy having a bad smell like martin around the club. GWS dont have a lot of older players to keep him in line. Anyway will see what happens but I dont think his manager is doing the right thing by him
-
Well I guess there is a reason why Scott didnt give him a senior game all year. It rare that a pick 11 who we have seen has talent is stuck at vfl level. I hope Jordie doesnt realise what he has lost in the way of a career when its to late.
-
Stories are that the saints may put him up for trade. Should we consider him? He is 29 is fit and is a great player. Plus he always cuts us up when we play the saints. he and Jones would be great in the centre and he also kicks goals.

Clark and Dawes are off to arizona together i remember reading it awhile ago

Dustin was managed by Ricky Nixon until he got suspended. Need I say more. What player rocks up to another clubs mad monday at 10pm 6 days before he is due to play his first final. The guy has no brains and is money hungry. Richmond have done everything to help him settle in. Im not sure we need his bad influence on our young ones and im not sure Todd would want him around his son. Also he is not worth giving up pick 2 In saying that if anyone could help him then Roos could straighten him out or else im sure Dawes and Clark could
