It was exciting to see Max Gawn finally debut. I reckon we can play him in the foward line because he is just so tall. I know he needs to work on his kicking. But the poor guy was probably so nervous shooting for what would have been the wining goal. Anyway his ruck work seemed to be ok and everyone around me was just cheering for him so hard and wanting the ball to be kicked to him. Listening to triple m while at the game they were getting excited to. anyway I reckon he will get a bit of a cult status and this may be harsh but im glad to see him in the foward line and not newton. Go Max!

He was fantastic tonight and we missed him when he was out for those few weeks. He isnt afraid to go back for the ball or hit a contest. He is also great as the third man up. I reckon he is turning inot an elite backman. Great work Jarred and keep it up.

Funny you bring this up because I was listening to mmm on friday night and they had Jack Grimes in the box and Garry actually asked him about this. He said to Jack about rumours going around that Tom doesnt sit with the other injured players and instead sits on his own. Garry said to Jack please tell me that isnt true. Jack said its rubbish because they sat together at the nth game and the saints game. I guess these stories will go around until Tom makes an announcement on what he is doing.

2 questions id like answered please. Does Scully look like he can come back into the seniors or does he need another run for Casey? Has Gawn put some muscle on him. There was nothing wrong with having Olivia Newton John as pre match entertainemnt. She is an australian icon and cancer survivor who was happy to do this for us. It deosnt matter that she wasa carlton supporter. That wasnt the point of the night. The point was to raise money for her brilliant cancer centre that she has created to make people feel a little bit better who are going through treatment. Her centre offers the relaxation side of things such as massage, yoga and meditation. Jim as we all know uses alternative therapies to help him with his battle so of course he would want to help this centre. He probably also thought that it might get more people to our home game. The crowd seemed to enjoy it. What gave me a lift was seeing Jim come out on the stage. Dont care he couldnt sing but 3 days ago this man was in surgery having more brain tumours removed. Its a shame his spirit and courage doesnt rub off on the players. On another thing though have we hired Robbo as a match day person or something. The last few home games he has bobbed up for 1/2 time interviews and gets his head on the screen. Also thank god we have got rid of that flag raising crap. Well done to people who complained enough to make the club realise this looks stupid.

The one big positive I realised yeasterday. Thank god Kosi isnt playing for us. Even the saints fans in front of me get frustrated. The debut of Evans. 27 possies and not afraid to get the ball. I know he has a little bit of work to do on his passing but he looks good. Watts just uses the ball smartly. He doesnt blaze away he just holds back until a good option comes. Martins ruck work is getting better. He has a great leap and he is probably realising now how much Jamar works.

Im sorry I dont care what you say we missed Bate today. I know he didnt set the world on fire last week but he is a good lead up player and can kick goals from outside 50 and he also sets them up to with his long kicking. After 1/4 time we had no structure and when Watts went back we had no one. It should be on Jurraha' shoulders to kick a bag every week.

We do not man up therefore we arent putting any pressure on. Last week I noticed it but it didnt matter as much because we were winning by a lot. But today after 1/4 time the players were trailing there opponents and being led to the ball. To many times north had 2 loose men in there foward line and when they kicked out and played down the centre and just kicked it to the loose man it was to easy. We need to man up!

I have been frustrated with Green all year. This year his kicking for goal has been woeful. Years ago he would be the player you would want to have the ball to kick you a winning goal. Its not because we lost its been happening all year. He isnt a captain like a Judd or even a Jonathan Brown where you know if your team is down then they will put themselves on the line and go in and get the ball. Even Neitz would go in hard like when he crunched Luke McCabe that day to set a statement. At quarter time i didnt even notice him on the field. Last week we saw him grab the jumper for pride. Well where was that today. Moloney played a poor game and was well held and he can do that because he has been awesome this season so we needed Green to stand up. I saw nothing. Its a big 5 games coming up. I would expect our captain to do a bit more.

Maybe we made an improvement in his game. What has frustrated me is all week AFL officials have said we have to protect the head and we dont want players concussed. Thats the thing Dangerfield wasnt concussed enough to miss a week and he kicks 6. The doc may have gone early with the concussion because with this new rule if he put him back on he would have been in trouble. Its just frustrating that we dont have jack for 2 more weeks.

I'M 46, NEVER SMOKED I'VE GOT LUNG CANCER Its on the Herald Sun website now but will be in tomorrows edition. Its good to get an update to see how he is going and its great the club is around him. I can't believe all his black hair has gone. I know there are people all over the world battling cancer and the media tend to focus on just the well known but as a melbourne fan Sean was a very special player for our club. It just frustrates me how the people who look after themselves get the cancer and people can smoke for 40-50 years and nothing happens to them. Im not saying every smoker deserves lung cancer and no one deserves to get cancer but you try to be healthy and sometimes it just doesnt pay off. Good luck Sean!

There is nothing nore we can do about Trengove. Its a shame but we have a game to win on saturday. Im hoping that Dean gets the focus back on the task ahead. The next few weeks are huge. We have stkilda, Carlton. essendon and Collingwood. So hopefully the boys are angry and fired up and come out and do to nth what we did to the crows. At least Trengove gets a break and when he comes back for the queens birthday game he will be fresh. Hopefully our supporters go to etihad on saturday and outnumber the nth fans and show them we are behind them.

Im please the clun has got David Gallaby. He is a top lawyer and even maybe a qc. But Im glad the club has the expense to do it. I dont know if he will get off. I thought if you appeal the tribunals decision you have to have new evidence. Anyway I hope he does get off or the very least get his weeks reduced. I think thats great. I know she barracks for Carlton but its great that Jim managed to get her. 3 songs she will be singing. They said she will sing before the game and at half time. Her and Jim were on Neil Mitchells program this morning. I only heard a bit of it on the news. There is also an interview in todays herald sun. My mum is excited already. Hopefully she drowns out the bugle boy.

He said thats the way you should tackle and he wouldnt have meant to hurt Dangerfield on purpose. Depending on how serios Grimes injury is and he misses which Im assuming he will does Rivers jsut come back in for him depending if he has recovered. I wouldnt make any other changes. Bate needs game time and should stay and I think Dunn did ok in the ruck when he was out in there.

Its easy to come out after the heat has been put on the team and the coach and thrash the corws by 96 points but it will mean nothing if we cant back it up next week. We need to prove we can win at other grounds and we havent won at Etihad in awhile and last year North thrashed us. This is a game we should win plus Id love to see boomer put on his backside by Tapscott or anyone for that matter. 2 wins in a row would be fantastic and keep our spot in the 8.

Good glad to see none of this pre game flag stuff or after the game. It just would have looked stupid today I mean it was a great win but keep the flag raising till we win one. What about Brad Greens goal where he probaly should have passed it off but he had his head down. He went back from 50 and put it through then grabbed his jumper and turned to the crowd as if to say I love this club. His smother in the last quarter was great to. Jack Watts was good especially in the 1st half and he is showing improvement every week. Jurrah was exciting and Jones goal was great. Moloney just showed class in game.

We had Sam Blease ring my house to speak to my brother about re signing. The funny thing is he already had round 1 but it must have got lost between the mcg and the office. Anyway just interested because I wonder if there was anyone who had the guts to say why should I buy a membership when you guys are getting paid heaps & not performing.
