  1. So is Parish but he doesn't look as tough because he isn't a big, fat redhead with a face like a Scream mask.
  2. Clearly having top 20 draft picks is important, as demonstrated by Watts, Toumpas, Trengove, Scully, Morton, Gysberts, Tapscott, Strauss, Blease.... The beep test is the most important test at the combine. Just because you can run, doesn't mean you can play footy but you sure as sh!t can't play footy if you can't run.
  3. That beep is a disgrace....... Even with recent injuries, he is meant to be preparing to be an AFL player and you'd think he would push himself right to the limit.
  4. Hopper is the only mid I would take over Parish.
  5. The fact that he supports Richmond, not Collingwood, is the best thing I've heard about him. I'm a lot keener on him now.
  6. I see Jordan Lewis every few weeks and he does not look big enough to be an inside mid at AFL level but he is and he is a bull. He's as lean as could be with spaghetti arms. Parish has a decent frame on him so he will be fine. The difference between Toumpas and Parish is that Toumpas is a pure link-man or 'sweeper' off half-back, whereas Parish takes contested marks and wins and gives off contested possessions regularly. He is a bit like Shuey or Shane Edwards. He isn't a pure outside mid.
  7. He doesn't have a slight frame at all. He will grow to a good size
  8. I think kicking skills are more vital for a midfielder than the contested marking. I'm not sure Curnow is a very good kick. If he is, I agree with you. When more footage of the players comes out, we will be able to make better judgments but from the limited vision I've seen, Curnow doesn't seem to meet the minimum kicking requirements of a top 3 midfielder in the draft.
  9. He has barely played in the backline before so I think the combination of a fresh club and a fresh position could result in a surprise for most of us. Here's hoping.
  10. I agree, although: TOP 10 SANDOVER MEDAL VOTE WINNERS Aidan Tropiano (Perth) – 45 votes Ashton Hams (South Fremantle) – 44 Sam Menegola (Subiaco) – 41 Menegola, meanwhile, joined Subiaco in 2015 after being left of Peel Thunder's list and despite not appearing until Round 11, he immediately showed his quality and ability to dominate games as a ball-winning, hard running and goal kicking midfielder. Not bad at all.....
  11. Late bloomers, etc. etc. He was on an AFL list.
  12. Tim Gossage said that he's better than half of the midfielders in the AFL on SEN last week.
  13. Agree completely, although Hannebury had the best beep test result at the draft camp in his year
  14. I don't want to have to hear Luke Darcy say 'He's had a few amateur bouts in his time' or 'He's quite handy with the gloves, BT' every MFC game i watch for the next 8 years.
  15. How can people froth over the prospect of bringing in Riley, Michie, Newton, Magner, Couch, who were all completely unproven at AFL level, whilst denigrating Melksham, who has played some good footy at AFL level in one of the most horrific environments for a sporting team in world history? Melksham played some great footy in the first half of this year as a half-forward. Goodwin will have slightly more insight than most here.
  16. Adding people like Cross and Lumumba keeps our head above water while we develop young players and has a positive effect on culture.
  17. We need to keep Fitzy and Spencer, particularly with Jamar likely finishing up. Mature tall depth is invaluable over 23 rounds (and hopefully a couple more weeks)
  18. Mark Chopper Reid (Comedian) dafuq
  19. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2015-04-04/rd-1-highlights-melbourne-v-gold-coast 47 seconds in, Clint. It looks like he has springs in his boots.
