  1. the way he questioned Scully clearly sounded to me like he was calling him a liar the bloke is supposed to be a Melbourne supporter FCS parasite is right
  2. Yeah he might get an extra 50K from the MFC, which is a good enough reason to hold out til season's end. However, between now and then GWS could still walk in and triple our offer which is another good reason to hold out. So he is not secured is he? Surely I am not saying anything that can even be disputed
  3. He also said he'd have to look at it if a giant offer offer was made to him I did like 'it comes down to values' when asked how he could resist that much money but again if he is so unconcerned why no signature now
  4. yeah that's what he said but that's not a reason at all. You have to ask 'yeah but why?' again, after he gives that answer. Obviously the real answer if he was to be totally honest is 'i'm holding out because I am likely to make way more later than now, and that won't necessarily be with Melbourne'. The kid sounds sincere in that he loves the club and has not spoken to anone YET but for mine the situation is still that GWS or someone else can put a big offer on the table between now and season's end and he could still take it
  5. one thing he said was that 'it comes down to values' when asked how he could resist that much money, and that money is not something he thinks about interesting that Sheahan really seemed to be challenging him on whether he (or more precisely, his father) has spoken to GWS, he firmly denied it KB: 'It wasn't completely put to bed' sums it up perfectly
  6. thought he did that very well the only thing i didn't like was he completely dodged the 'why don't you just sign now and get it out of the way' question
  7. if he says he is signing a big deal with us I will make love to every one of you at Visy park on Saturday.
  8. gee we really are fielding a pretty compromised side aren't we Davey Bartram Frawley Trengove Morton McKenzie Grimes Wonaeamirri Garland (apparently) Blease Fitzpatrick Newton McNamara Gawn Lawrence Davis That first 9 are all in my best 22
  9. like i said the other day, when Grimes is searching for an option from the kick-out, i highly doubt he is thinking about Tom Scully's playing future
  10. apparently it's a nice Bex and a lie down
  11. I nearly topped myself last year when he got hurt in that praccy, don't know if I could take it again
  12. I tell you right now, if anyone does that near me they'll wish they hadn't. America de cali i'm looking at you!:D TAPSCOTT! THE MAN WITH THE GIANT NECK! GO YOU GOOD THING! it's always a bit sad though to watch a game that doesn't include Grimes. Makes me want to cry actually.
  13. I agree with you. I think we have our 6-8 too... basically the blokes in the demonland banner plus Watts and Trengove
  14. it means your entire theory is out the window if that ball had just sat up a bit and into the hands of Milne in the goalsquare very late in GF1 that's one bounce of one ball
  15. this might be my most hated of footy forum comments a couple of kicks different and they were back to back premiers they will be up there again for a few more dont talk about them as if they are some failure please
  16. I don't even think that is that stupid If I was him, the deserved number one kid in the land, drafted by the Tigers I would certainly have the possibility in the back of my mind 'how can I get to the mighty MFC where I belong?'. Obviously I would also be thinking about pay day. To suggest he has some sort of debt, or a bond, or an allegiance, or an affinity or whatever you want to call it, with us is ridiculous. We are just the mob who finished last the year he was drafted
  17. would that be the same Maric who just played his first decent match for the club ever? ozzie is picked if fit and rightly so. If 5 other blokes are injured he is obviously in isn't he in any case it remains a lame call to imply we were at full strength last week are you debating that or just being a pedant
  18. reminds me of myself... but if I was writing an article to be published in the mass media I wouldn't put it on display like that. Remaining objective as a member of the media does not necessarily mean driving the sword into the club you supposedly support he's a complete [censored] if you ask me
  19. I think that's fair Is not within a bull's roar of being the player we thought we were getting originally which was an athletic, versatile ball magnet with excellent skills. I would like to meet this Cale Morton.
  20. it's unfortunate that there is a post that warrants trotting it out 2 days in a row, in the same thread no less, but I'm afraid i'm going to have to...
  21. one of the traditions of going to games there when it was still an AFL ground would be the walk back to your car and seeing every single car having a fine on the windshield, nice little earner for the council it was
  22. well we don't want that either that will be losing the best player in the comp as you are knocking on the premiership door we have about 7 key players that are going to put us through this garbage every couple of years when their contracts are up, for their whole careers.. man I hate it
  23. and we won 12 games in 3 years, we obviously fit the criteria for a side in need of a priority pick, we should have got Naitanui too
  24. it just happened that Frawley, Scully, Petterd, McKenzie, Morton and Wonaeamirri weren't available
  25. yeah i mean purely from a recruiting POV at this stage. I know we got high picks for sucking so bad, but he did do a decent job in ensuring that we did if you know what I mean. He appears to have used all those picks well, got some gems with later picks, the rookie and the PSD drafts. Also a couple of brilliant trades and has let the right players go and at the appropriate times. In what we have seen him be able to get out of his brand new players he seems to be a great developer and teacher of players. Hard to believe the change in pure quality of cattle since he took over. This is what he pledged he would do when he was hired as coach and has done it in textbook fashion so far. Now he deserves a good crack at taking them from promising group to champion team
