  1. Bailey hasn't put a foot wrong, has pulled off one of the great rebuilds of all time in fact, and deserves several more years regardless
  2. Bate Last stop before Millersville
  3. hahah that's what I was going to say absolute fail of a comment to post on a football forum populated exclusively by die hard demons i heard he goes to sunday mass and yells out "THERE IS NO GOD!' during communion
  4. jesus let's not get carried away roost I love your optimism but 'marketer's dream?' this thing has been an ugly mess and when he signs the only emotion i have will be sheer relief, then it's time to start worrying about the rest of them I cannot fathom why he would agree to anything with us or anyone else now, as opposed to the end of season. as his manager will have made clear to him, whether he wants to stay with us or not it is almost certainly going to be more lucrative to do it later, because it is likely all players will be getting more, and his specific value will probably skyrocket even more with a good year. Any club in the comp could offer him more at seasons end than what the MFC are offering now, whats the harm in waiting and seeing? Plus he will have more influential information, such as how the team is going, how he is getting on with his teammateds and coach, and personal spects of his life like girlfirend, investments, family etc why the hell would he sign now when he doesnt have to?
  5. I hope you are right but I get the feeling we will be sitting here saying 'oh FFS' let me ask you this - if the club intends to make a 'Scully commits!' event, complete with hugs from Jimmy, panties thrown on stage, the works, how can they plan such an event if they don't know they are going to reach satisfactory terms sometime this week? If they haven't had the discussion how do they know Scull isnt going to ask for $1M a year which they can't afford. Then it's a massive backfire of a press conference isn't it?
  6. I have a degree in aeronautical engineering, medicine AND neuroscience and I agree with you Ask Aaron Davey and Brad Green what happened with their last contract negotiations, club was clearly asked to 'dig deeper' Brain surgeons get paid well
  7. Excellent post I doubt Tom Scully's playing future enters into Jack Grimes' consciousness as he is searching for an option from the kickout load of bollocks most of the people trotting out the 'distracted' garbage are just people that would love to see us be distracted because they are shizenscared of what we are going to become
  8. garbage he doesn't owe us anything, he worked his arse off like a freak his whole life to be the number one kid in the country and he would still obviously be playing league footy if we hadn't 'given him his first shot' all we did was play an appalling season of football and got handed him
  9. Pathetic isn't it? Nobody in the media would say that about a Melbourne footballer unless it is in the context of him leaving us. Once he signs with us they'll go back to waxing lyrical over Hurley, Sidebottom, Martin, Franklin and Kruezer, you know the blokes that play for the clubs that buy more newspapers
  10. didn't you know the knee bone's connected to the larynx ADC?
  11. sorry I wasn't aware of the nine-fold-only discussion rule your explanation doesn't satisfy me except for the first 4 words
  12. can somebody explain to me what having knee soreness has to do with your ability to give an interview?
  13. The other thing he is forgetting is that if Scully were to sign with us now instead of at the end of the year it would likely be for a lesser deal, because a) there will likely be a change in the economic climate for players in general with the lobbying for greater pay league-wide B) any club, including GWS, could come knocking between now and then to broaden his options c)the on-field success and prospects of ourselves and other clubs will be clearer and will influence the decision d)between now and then personal aspects of his life might change ie women, family, property, non-footy revenue/education etc and will influence the decision and e) he will probably blitz the season and therefore prove what is still largely potential, driving his bargaining power up. On his behalf it would be stupid to sign with us now because at the end of the year he is likely to get a better deal regardless of what jumper he's in 1. He's already at GWS 2. He's definitely not leaving MFC 3. He wants to stay here in principle, but is maintaining the possibility of leaving for a likely better deal at year's end. If the MFC come to the party or close to it he will stay it has to be number 3 for mine
  14. hahahah 1500-post 'Trengove to GWS?' thread coming right up! seriously can we not
  15. and then he'll get 45 possessions down at Visy on Saturday
  16. oh yeah and then he'll just play the season out with those teammates knowing he has sold out and his own supporters booing him come off it
  17. FCS I am sick of this type of garbage who the hell cares what some club did in x amount of years WE ARE NOT THEM. IT IS NOT 5 YEARS AGO. and whatever has happened in AFL history has stuff all to do with the future of the MFC
  18. exactly... like they are going to sell a premiership cup to somebody so he can put it behind his bar what a load of bollocks
