Speaking of coming back from broken legs, I have noticed that many have said that Stringer would easily be top three, had his leg not been broken. Given our recent experience in this area, could the club possibly bluff others by not taking him in the top 4, and hoping he slides to 13? Clutching at straws I know, but given the season we're having...........

Trading our First two Picks for Beams & Wellingham
Dr. Mubutu replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Harry O'Brien? We really are scraping the bottom of the barrel. -
What's that? For every speckie, there is an equal and opposite rubbish career?
-
Well, he has come back from a broken leg....... Something this club is no stranger to, unfortunately.

Worth nothing now, but I've just rewatched and....... 6. Martin 5. Sylvia 4. McKenzie 3. Bail 2. Jones 1. MacDonald

Trading our First two Picks for Beams & Wellingham
Dr. Mubutu replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not a chance. In terms of value to MFC, Plowman + (Stringer, Mayes or Kennedy) >>>>> Wellingham + Beams. -
Not sure they'd go for KPD....... They've already got some decent ones there.... I'd think they're more likely to target ruckmen and possibly medium lead-up forwards, personally.
-
Yep, they just keep coming and coming ... Breaking News: Davey out for season

I think that the club, unfortunately, is still feeling the after-effects of Junction Oval. After training in substandard (even for VFL) facilities for so long, then going to the state-of-the-art AAMI Park, it's going to be some time before the benefits are fully realised. Unfortunately for we supporters, and as much as it frustrates me week-in, week-out, it means we will have to deal with yet more 'rebuilding' whilst the players get fitter.

It'll have to be damn awful to beat last week's display.

Trade Talk, Supporter Fatigue and Neeld's Catch-22
Dr. Mubutu replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agreed with all but the bolded. It's not the gameplan that has led to a poor record, but the players' seeming inability to actually implement it. I'd probably add to that list: Desire to rid the club of footballers who can't play football. -
Was just thinking that. Who do we have who has actually played a big game? Green, possibly Davey?
-
Least I could do to chuck a $20 for all the time I spend on here. It'll come through about an hour after my pay does.

I'd be absolutely gobsmacked if GWS pass up on Grundy in favour of another onballer. They have plenty of those, and a very bare ruck cupboard. And there's no way they'll accept Morton and Bate. Pick 4 + Morton + Bate = Pick 4. GC will NOT accept players in trades. They already have to cut 7 from their primary list. Is there some way we can get some realism in here? If Collingwood were willing to accept pick 4 for Sidebottom (hypothetically), would you also chuck in Macaffer and Krakouer for pick 13? Jesus. Clubs don't care about steak knives, unless they're picks, or pick upgrades.

Thanks for all the hard work, Nasher. Much appreciated.

Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?
Dr. Mubutu replied to Satan's topic in Melbourne Demons
As I've observed earlier today: There's no way I want Cloke for this much money. You could have a full-forward line of Lockett, Coleman and Fanning, and they'd struggle to kick 15 goals with our 3rd-world midfield. We need midfielders. We need them now. Our forwardline hasn't REALLY been a problem, but the pox delivery inside 50 has been. -
My issue is: why has it taken professional footballers so long to grasp these BASICS? If someone can come up with a reason, I'll be willing to back this list in. As it is, I think these 'players' are simply masquerading.
-
Just extracting the urine, OD. And please do note that I only have Cook in in the case that Frawley doesn't pass the concussion test this week.
-
OD, I'm sure many backlines in the VFL would hit him harder than Freo's will. I just fail to see who else we'd have at FF. Fitzpatrick? Seems to be more of a backup ruckman than a forward. Green at FF, maybe, then your boy Bennell in the forward pocket?

Etihad stadium and why we will win this weekend
Dr. Mubutu replied to bandicoot's topic in Melbourne Demons
All the more reason to bring back Green. Kicked 5 last year. -
Jesus. Jamar is back this week, right? Right? And even though I've not been on the Couch bandwagon, he's literally kicked down the door on the weekend, especially with Magner looking VERY tired. IN: Jamar, Couch, Green, Gysberts, Strauss OUT: Spencer (to be 1st ruck at Casey), Dunn (susp), Magner (rested), Moloney (to Casey please), Bennell (Casey) B: Nicholson Frawley Rivers HB: Grimes Watts MacDonald C: Gysberts Trengove Sylvia HF: Couch Green Blease F: Martin Garland Howe R: Jamar Jones McKenzie I: Bate Strauss Tapscott Sub:Bail EMG: Cook, Fitzpatrick, Bennell If Frawley doesn't get up: Garland to FB, Cook in at FF.

From the best album of 2012 so far, IMO, we have Cincinatti's Foxy Shazam and 'Holy Touch' Saw these guys live last year and this doesn't even come close to their energy levels in that setting.

There's also an excellent cover by Punk Covers supergroup Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.... [media=]
